A shiver down your spine

Natalie sat on her own in the forest, just beside the old graveyards, shivering in both coldness...and fear...and the dark figure drew nearer.

Shadow approached behind Natalie, and put a hand on her shoulder.

Natalie screamed.

"WHAT IS THAT THING!" Natalie yelled, curling up slightly.

"What do you mean that thing? It's me, Shadow." The demoness said patiently.

"THE THING IN FRONT OF ME! LOOK! THE CLOAK!" Natalie yelled, pointing wildly.

Shadow looked over, unafraid. Standing up, she stood in front of Natalie.
"Identiy yourself!"

The figure stopped in it's tracks.

"Saphire Sultan..." said the hooded figure in a high, trembling voice.

"Who's he when he's out shopping?" Shadow asked, slightly confused.

"She...and I am the high princess of the west village of Glenward..." said Saphire quickly, "who may you be?"

"Shadow Roth, Princess of Darkness." The demoness said.

"Yes...rather...." said Saphire, grinning.

"Why the grin?" Shadow asked sceptically.

"Tis you I am looking for..." said Saphire.

"Any particular reason?" Shadow asked coolly.

"You are to help with the war...it is a cival war...the Glenward faeries against the Goblins..." said Saphire.

"What use am I, one person! Don't expect me to rally the demons. That's impossible." Shadow said. "No offence..."

"Just one is what we need...and your...human...can help in any way she can..." said Saphire, looking at Natalie.

"She's no my human. Her name's Natalie." Shadow said. "And ok, I'll help.

"Me too..." said Natalie, smiling at Saphire...who didn't smile back.

Shadow was thinking, plotting.

Natalie was thinking...but of other things.

Shadow disappeared briefly and reappeared with a pair of swords and wearing a circlet of some black metal.

Natalie took out her wand....

"Nat, are you ready to do some fighting?" Shadow asked.

"Yes...more than anything in the world..." said Natalie, grinning.
