Hunger

Ilena returned her smile. "No, it isn't.. But everything's better than sitting here and waiting till you die and rot." She had thought about travelling, but it didn't work out as she wanted.

Archangel nodded slowly.
"With adventure comes danger, with danger comes panic, with panic comes suffering, with suffering comes pain, and with pain comes death." The twelve-year-old said.

Seems she had experienced a lot already. "But wouldn't you want to die after you've experienced such great and awful things?" Ilena thought out loud "Sitting here is just.. Boring. What kind of meaning does a life like mine have?"

"Means you have time to think and appreciate being alive," Archangel said simply.

"Then I'd rather die soon." Ilena harshly replied.

"Then to appreciate being human in a human world!" Archangel snapped before her face turned to an expression of shock.
What had I just said?! The others are gonna kill me for this! Her thoughts paniked.

Jammy saw the girl's expression and then noticed a passer by stare at them and hurry away.
"Listen," he said, stepping forwards, "Maybe we should continue this conversation somewhere else. We seem to be drawing attention to ourselves."
He gave Ilena a questioning glace and attempted to do the same to Archangel, but his gaze got lost in the darkness of her hood.

Ilena's eyes shot wide open. "What do you mean?" she half yelled. Startled, she jumped right. She then noticed Jammy again. "Maybe we should" Ilena, still shocked, murmered. She eyed Archangel suspiciously.

Archangel, still swearing in her mind, swung herself back up onto Star's back, taking a few steps towards Jammy.
"Yes, perhaps we should..."

"C'mon" Ilena started walking "we can go to my place. It's abandoned for a reason" She really had no idea what this was going about.

Archangel walked Star after Ilena, keeping a few paces behind.

People stared and whispered between each other about the unusual parade. Once inside her 'home' Ilena took an old cover and sat on it to avoid the cold floor. She gestured Archangel to get comfortable. "Please, explain what you meant" she suspiciously started.

Archangel dismounted again, taking off her heavy cloak and sitting on it. Star lay down, folding his limbs awkwardly beneath him, his body curved around Archangel.
Archangel sighed.
"Where do I start?"

Ilena smiled a little at the cute sight. "Well, maybe with the human world?" she anxiously began.

Archangel thought of how to phrase her thoughts for a moment.
"Let's just say that you're not the only world or even dimension to have intelligent, or vaguely intelligent life..." Archangel said slowly, not sure on how clear it would be to the human.

Ilena thought about what she said a few seconds. "Seems logical" she slowly replied. "I don't think I would've believed it if someone told me we are the only living beings in the universe. Same about dimensions.." Well, this was getting really interesting.

Archangel nodded, giving a slight smile.
"Well, just as there are several worlds, there are also several other races of being..."

Jammy really didn't want to enter the cold and damp place, but his hunger for knowledge knawed at him. He ducked inside and sat on a tatty cloth on the ground.

Her head snapped up. That really caught her attention. "A..and could you tell me what exactly those other races are? Do they look like humans or animals?" Ilena stammered.

Then she saw Jammy hesitantly walk inside and sit on a completely torn cloth. A bit of red started to appear in her face. How poor dirty she must seem.

"You're looking at one." Archangel said with a smile, "In fact, you're looking at two." The girl glanced at Star, her smile growing with the knowledge.

Ilena's eyes had never shot so far open in her whole life. "WHAT?" she practically yelled. Now Archangel had said that, some things made sense. Her purple hair indeed did seemed too real to be dyed. And Star, he was a hell lot bigger than any other horse she had seen.

Ilena flashed a little smile. "So I guess these.. Other races look pretty much the same as humans?" A worried frown appeared. "If you are here, then there others probably are too. And I dare say some probably aren't as accepting as you.. " Ilena paused to take a deep breath. This.. She was still very surprised, but also insanely curious to what these other races were.

"Well, let's just say that there's my whole family, " Archangel said, "as well as Star's..." Archangle turned back to her horse, murmuring a few words under her breath. Gradually, a pair of wings unfurled, released from the spell that had been placed on them to hide them.

Taken by surprise she screamed and backed off in reflex. Then slowly crawling closer, she curiously watched Star's wings. "So he's like that mythical horse.. Pegasus?" Ilena gasped. "And does only your family exist? Or others too..?" she inquired interested.

"For my race? As far as I know, my family are the last ones, but my grandfather still seems to be breeding." Archangel's face darkened as she mentioned her grandfather, but the rid herself of the thoughts as she looked back at Ilena.
"I'm a part demon."

Ilena saw the anger when she spoke of her grandfather. Deciding not to ask about him she released all her questions, hoping it didn't bother Archangel too much. "Hmm.. If you are a part demon, do there still exist 'full' demons? And are there certain.. Qualities of you race?" she pensively said "there probably are some differences in comparison to the others." She tried to let it all sink in.. It was strange to discover that all you know is in fact only the tiniest bit of something much, much bigger.
