Hayley Parker at Hogwarts.

Chapter One- On The Train.

Hayley walked slowly onto the train. She had her rabbit, Blueberry, clutched close to her chest, and whispered frantically to her, "Where am I gonna sit? Oh gosh, I'm so nervous,"
Blueberry tittered, "Don't worry," she said, looking around, "Look, sit in there," she added.
Hayley looked around, to a compartment, and noticed someone sitting inside. She knocked nervously on the door.
"Can I sit here?" she asked gently.
The person sitting in the compartment turned around. He was a handsome boy, of Hayley's age, with long, dark brown hair, and large dark eyes.
"Sure," he said, smiling slightly.
Hayley sighed with relief, and sat down quietly opposite the boy.
"I'm Jake," he said, putting out his hand.
Hayley shook it, smiling, "Hayley," she replied.
Jake smiled, and rubbed the condensation off the window.
"You nervous?" he asked, with an awkward smile.
Hayley hesitated, then breathed out deeply, "Yes," she said, rubbing Blueberry behind the ears, "Very,"
Jake sighed, and almost laughed, "Me too," he said, "I hope I'm in Gryffindor," he said, grinning slightly.
"I don't really mind," she said, "My mum said it doesn't matter,"
Jake nodded, "I suppose it doesn't," he said nodding.
The compartment door clicked, and Hayley and Jake looked around. A young, very nervous looking girl with blonde hair stood there, her large eyes wide.
"Hello," she said, smiling slightly.
Hayley smiled, "Hi," she said, "I'm Hayley,"
The girl smiled, and twirled her hair around one finger, "Grace," she said, closing the door, "Mind of I sit down?" she asked.
Jake shook his head, "No, go ahead," he said, "And my name's Jake,"
Grace smiled, and sat down beside Hayley.
"I'm so nervous," Grace said.
Hayley laughed, and caught Jake's eye. "Me too," she said.

Chapter 2- Arrival

"Oh my gosh, we're here," Grace garbled quickly.
Hayley stirred- apparently she'd fallen asleep.
Jake yawned, and stretched.
"Really?" Hayley said, her voice hoarse.
"Yep," Grace said, zipping up her backpack.
Hayley got up, and sat down quickly, when the train came to an abrupt stop.
Jake looked at Hayley suddenly. "I'm scared," he muttered.
Hayley smiled comfortingly, "Don't be," she ecnouraged.
"FIRST YEARS!" someone yelled from outside.
Grace jumped, and ran out the carriage door.
Hayley looked at Jake, "I don;t know if I like her or not," she said.
Jake shrugged, "Me either,"
They both got up, and after minutes of pushing and shoving, got to the door of the train.
It was raining heavily when they stepped out, and Grace was shivering, waiting for them.
"Hi," she said.
Jake nodded, Hayley smiled.
"FIRST YEARS!" came the booming voice again.
Hayley jumped, as she realised the 'wall' she thought she was standing beaside, was actually a huge human being...
Jake grinned. "Hey Hagrid," he said.
Hayley glared at Jake, "You know him?" she whispered, eyes wide.
Jake nodded, and Grace laughed.
The huge man, or Hagrid, put his massive hand on Hayley's shoulder, and lead her, Jake and Grace to series of boats, below the small ladge they were standing on.
"The Black Lake...." Hayley whispered. She had heard of it...but never imagined how amazingly, extraordinarily beautiful it was.
Hagrid lead them down a few steps, and all four of them got onto a boat.
"Don' worry," Hagrid said, smiling.
"About what?" Hayley said.
"School. Bein' the new kids. Ye'll be fine,"
Hayley smiled, and looked at Jake. He smiled back.
Grace hummed happily, as they came closer and closer to Hogwarts.
Hayley could see it looming in the darkness- it was huge. A colossal black silhouette, with many lit windows. The moon creeped eerily out from behind it- a scene from a horror movie, Hayley thought with a grin.
"Righto," Hagrid said, "We're here."

Er... One thing... My old english teacher would have called this 'dialogitis'. You've got to much dialogue, and not a lot of descriptions. You also start a new line when it isn't really nessecary...

Chapter Three- The Sorting.

Nervously, cautiously, Hayley stepped off the boat. Jake, Grace and Hagrid followed closely behind her, muttering excitedly. Hayley couldn't help grinning as she stared awe-struck at the enormous building infront of her.
"Let's go," Hagrid said, leading them, and the other firts years to the entrance of the school. Hayley walked shakily, staring at the ground around her. She could see everything her parents had described to her- the Whomping Willow, Hagrid's hut, the Herbology greenhouses...everything.
With a loud bang, the doors to the Entrance Hall flew open, revealing a tall woman wearing a long, frayed cloak, matched with a pointed wizard's hat.
"Welcome to Hogwarts," she said, smiling, "I am Proffessor McGonagall," she added. "You will enter the Great Hall now, and follow me to the back of the Hall. Then you will be sorted into one of the four houses- Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin," McGonagall said. She smiled again, and lead the way into the Great Hall.
The group of first years walked slowly through the hall, looking nervously at their feet as all the other students at the four tables looked on, amused expressions their faces. As they reached the back of the hall, Hayley started in curiousity at the three-legged stool, with the frayed, century-old hat perched ontop. She began to breath heavily- time for the sorting.
"Abraham, Lisa," McGonagall said.
A small girl with long blakc hair stepped up from the crowd, and sat nervously on the stool, shaking as the hat was placed on her head.
"Hufflepuff!" the hat cried, barely seconds after it touched her.
A loud eruption of applause, from what Hayley assumed was the Hufflepuff table, greeted the girl as she sat down, smiling.
After a few minutes, and after the name "Pacston, Grant," had been called, out, McGonagal said sharply, "Parker, Hayley,"
Hayley looked up quickly, wringing her hands together. "Go," Jake whispered, urging her forward. Hayley stped forward slowly, sat on the stool, and shivered as McGonagall placed the hat on her head.
"Hmmm," the hat whispred in her head, "Hmm...."
Hayley closed her eyes and croseed her fingers, before...
"Gryffindor!" the hat yelled.
Hayley sighed with relief, and got off the stool, running down to the Gryfincor table.
Again, she was greeted with a loud applause.
Five or six minutes later, Jake was called out. Hayley crossed her fingers again, and looked at Jake as he shuddered uncomfortably.
"Gryffindor!" the hat yelled again. Jake grinned widely, and ran down, sitting himself beside Hayley. "Thank God for that," he said, over the applause.
