Hogwarts: Next Generation

"Oh come on...it was supposed to be funny," said Tomorrow, laughing at herself to give the twins a clue as to how to react.

Eclipse and Twilight looked at each other, not exactly sure.

Tomorrow gave up.
"Maybe you're just nervous..." she said quietly.

"Bristol gene?" Ashton asked, but he did not ask. (?)

"Mummy told me..." Tomorrow said quietly.

"That explains it...." Ashton muttered, just as Professor McGonagal approached.
"We are ready for you." she said.

Tomorrow looked up at McGonagall as the doors opened. McGonagall look back in.
"Another Patterson...." she said, "your Natalie Patterson's daughter..."
"Yes...indeed." said the little girl.
McGonagall's smile widened.
She looked at Ashton, and screamed.
"Oh no...another...B-B-Bristol..." said McGonagall, and then rather convulsively checked her pocket for frog spawn.

The twins bowed their heads and walked through the doors into the Great Hall.

Ashton smiled.
"Glad to know mum's remembered...." he said innocently, and the second McGonagal entered the Great Hall he magicked some frog spawn into her pocket.

Tomorrow took her wand and magicked it away again.
"Not on my watch Ash..." she muttered, walking into the hall after the crowd of first years.

"You ruin otherwise fun stuff." Ashton said sighing, but he entered the Great Hall and looked around.

Tomorrow sighed, and stood with the little crowd near to a platform.
Professor McGonagall brought out the three legged stood and the sorting hat.

"Aardvark, Aaron." Professor McGonagal called.
"Rage havin a name la' that." Ashton said grinning.

I know...shame...poor child..." muttered Tomorrow.

Aaron was sorted into Hufflepuff.
"Tosspot." Ashton commented.
"Bristol, Ashton."
"Oh dear." Ashton said, as he made his way up to the sorting hat.

Tomorrow smiled and mouthed, "Good luck Ash." up to him.

Hayley bit her lip, and looked at Tomorrow, "Is he looking to go the same way as Holly?" she asked in a whisper.

Ashton looked around.
"OH MY GOD HAYLEY"S HERE!" he yelled.

Tomorrow took no notice of Ashton's yell.
"I think deep down he wants to be in Gryffindor like his mother..." whispered Tomorrow.

Eclipse and Twilight looked over at Archangel and Onyx, obviously nervous about the sorting. Onyx just smiled warmly and reassuringly at thel while Archangel gave them the thumbs up.

Ashton crossed his fingers as he took his place under the sorting hat.
A brief pause and then the hat shouted out 'Slytherin!'
Ashton smiled down at the Roth's and Tomorrow.

Archangel applauded from the Slytherin table, and Onyx from the Ravenclaw. Eclipse and Twilight smiled slightly.

Tomorrow applauded Ashton warmly.
Many more people were sorted...until they got to the P's...
"Patterson, Tomorrow," called McGonagall.
Both the Gryffindor and the Ravenclaw tables sat forward in there seats.
Tomorrow walked up onto the platform, sat down on the stool and McGonagall put the hat on her head.
The hat paused, deliberating in thought.

Eclipse and Twilight shifted nervously, and Archangel, who had been bored, had conjured a small orb of magic. It changed shape into a smily face in front of Tomorrow before flying off around the hall again.

Tomorrow twiddled her thumbs and waited patiently.
And soon...the hat had an answer.
"GRYFFINDOR!" the hat yelled.
The Gryffindor table roared in happiness, while a sigh of sorrow was heard amoungs the Ravnclaws.
Tomorrow skipped to the Gryffindor table, and sat down beside a pretty fifth year girl.
