Lost

"IN LIGHT OF THE SITUATION SHADOW, I AM NOT CALMING DOWN!"
Natalie moaned several times, beginning the push.
"OH LORD! IT'S COMING!"

"Shh Nat." Shadow said quietly, keeping the pain levels for her friend low.

Holly screamed again and hid behind Archangel, praying.

Natalie pushed again, frightened.
"The. baby. might. die. if. it. doesn't. come. out." Natalie whinned.
She looked at Holly.
"FOR THE LOVE OF MOSES, HAVE SOME BALLS! TELL ME WHAT TO DOOOOOAHHH!"

Shadow poured her strength through the connection, trying to help her friend.
"It's going to be ok." Shadow said.

"Die?" Holly said differently, "Why? No it wouldn't but ...?"

"Shut up Holly." Shadow warned.

Natalie pushed again, harder.
"IT BURNS!" she yelled, "HOLY SH*T! GET THIS DAMN THING OUT OF MEEEAHHHH!"
Natalie pushed again with all her might, and let the breath out with a loud scream. She was near to giving up altogether as she panted slightly when suddenly the cry of a newborn was heard.
Natalie's pain went away instantly.
She sat up, slightly out of breath, looking for the baby.
"Shadow...what is it...is it a boy?" Natalie asked.

"But, why does no one tell me stuff?" Holly asked, rolling her eyes, "Okay, the current problem .... Nat ... are you okay?"
Yeah. She actually went there.

Shadow kept pouring her energy and strength into Natalie as she picked up the child, wrapping it in a towel Archangel had teleported away to get.

Natalie's face lit up as she looked at Holly...sweaty, and soaked in her own tears, but happy.
"Give the child to Holly..." said Natalie quietly, smile fading as she said it, "it is hers after all."

"I can't hold it properly but." Holly commented, "I suck with kids ... why don't you ... keep it ... him ... her ... him."

Shadow nodded and handed the child to Holly before turning her attention back to Natalie.
"Are you going to be ok?"

"Holly...you'll love him...like I love him...you don't see it yet..." said Natalie to Holly.
She turned to Shadow.
"Yes Shadow...I'm fine...just....well...I have to give him up now like...I guess that's it..."

"Are you tired?" Holly asked, eager to know how pregnancy worked.

"I'm wrecked honey...but it's worth it...if you're happy," said Natalie.

"Oh yeah, thank you is in order." Holly said, suddenly remembering, "So uh ... thanks..."

Shadow smiled slightly and gave Natalie another potion.
"It'll give you a bit more energy."

"Er...no problem...may I...hold him?" Natalie asked, looking at the child, "and be alone for a while...please."

"Okay." Holly said, passing him to Natalie, "We will go ... walk, shall we Roth?"

Natalie held the baby, and waited for the two to go, staring at the child with loving and sad eyes.

Holly strolled off absently, waiting for Shadow to follow her. Or as the Northern Irish say, 'fally'.

Natalie sighed, and looked at the child.
"Well...here you are...this feels so strange...well, we had alot of fun...and now me meet...like strangers...who have known each other all our lives...and now have to say goodbye..."
The baby looked at Natalie as she spoke, and then began to sob.
"Well....if you're gonna cry..." said Natalie, beginning to sob herself as she rocked the baby back and forth, never wishing to let go.

Holly watched from several metres away, leaning against a tree.

Shadow had absented herself, along with Archangel.
