Captured memories...

Shadow followed them, Merlas ambling along behind her still chewing on her last mouthful of grass. She looked around the cave quickly and nodded.
"You call this primitive? You haven't seen some of the places I've stayed in." She said, a slight smile on her face.

'Well, for my time, it's primitive,' Kaera said, smiling back, 'But since you agree...'
Kaera stepped into the cave. She took off her wolf skin sweater, and gave it to Shadow to use. Kaera took a small towel from her bag and used it as a pillow for her head. She curled up into a ball, and closed her eyes, smirking.
Val Keshra sat on the ground next to the cave, his eyes gleaming in the darkness. He sat with his legs crossed and his arms on his thighs. His blades stuck out from behind him.

Shadow looked at the sweater for a moment, before handing it back, hiding the look of slightly disgust deep within her mind. She walked over to a dark corner, and morphed into a black wolf. She turned a few circles before lying down, and closed her eyes.

Kaera kept the sweater, and looked at Shadow transforming into the creature. She then frowned, and said, 'Couldn't you tell me that before?' Then she grinned.
Kaera closed her eyes.

Val Keshra gazed in the dark moonlit sky. Stars were shining everywhere. The Terax have neverendlessly tried counting the stars in the sky. Some succeeded, it seems, but their secrets went with their tomb.
'1034, 1035...'

Shadow opened one black eye and looked at Kaera. She seemed to smile before closing the eye again and falling asleep.

Val Keshra kept on sitting in the dark place, his bicoloured eyes glistening in the darkness. He was still counting the stars.
'1295, 1296...'
More stars seemed to come, but that didn't bother Val Keshra. He would just count them, then continue his counting.
'1301, 1302...'

Two figures appeared in the shadows before their voices sounded.
"You're the one who tracked her!" Said one.
"And yet you refused my offer to teleport." Said the other.
"You're sure she's here?"
"As sure as one can be when considering Shadow."

Val Keshra immediately raised his dual blades, and went in front of Shadow and Kaera. Kaera is still sleeping. She mumbled something, but did not wake.
Val Keshra's eyes were now blinding with light, trying to see the maybe offensive foes.
'Whom goes here?' asked Val keshra, alerted.

"Whoa!" One person said, and the pair stepped into the light. Both men were identical, with silver hair.
"We seek only our sister." The second one said.

Shadow got up, sensing the conflict. She morphed into human form, but it was obvious from her face she wasn't pleased to see her brothers.

Val Keshra noticed that Shadow morphed back into human form, but he did not look away from the newcomers.
'You still didn't answer my question.' Val Keshra said, abruptly.
His eyes gleamed yellow and blue. It made a greenish light on the two newcomers. Val Keshra noticed that they had silver hair. These people, Val Keshra thought, I don't know. I must stand on my grounds.

"They're Vrael and Shaeman," Shadow growled.
"We came to accompany our sister." Vrael said quietly.
"I told you I do NOT need a guard!" Shadow snapped, her eyes narrowing.
"And if dearest daddy turns up?" Shaeman asked, leaning against a tree.
"I'll kick his *rse back to hell so fast he won't know what hit him."

Val Keshra relaxed. He let his blades along his bird-like legs, but he stayed alert and came near Kaera. Kaera was still sleeping, unaware of the discussion.
'Vrael and Shaeman,' Val Keshar said, 'Keep quiet, a human is trying to regain strength.'

"Yes, you will be keeping quiet because you WILL BE LEAVING!" Shadow hissed. Vrael was about to open his mouth, but then found himself teleported back to his house with Shaeman.

Shadow sighed, going back into the cave and sitting down against the wall. Leaning her head back, she closed her eyes.

'Well, what an intrusion,' Val Keshra said, looking at Shadow, 'Are they... Brothers?'
Val Keshra's eyes gleamed greenish light. They faded out, and went back to the normal yellow and blue colours. Val Keshra rested his blades on his lap, and sat down next to Kaera, who moved in her sleep and rested her head on Val Keshra's right leg.

"Yes, brothers." Shadow murmured. She raised her head to look at Val Keshra. "What's your relation with Kaera?"

Val Keshra looked at Shadow directly into the eyes. 'I, Val keshra, am a warrior of the future. Born in 2026, to be exact. I am of 154 years of age. In year 2264, Kaera's father creates an armaggedon war on the planet Earth. We, the Terax, a highly technologically advanced race, knew that if the war continued, Earth would be no more, and without the help of the humans, we would not be able to survive against the black death of the galaxy, the Dest,' Val keshra said, then he looked at Kaera, 'I had to kidnap this girl when she was 4 years old and go back into time, in year 1995, to be exact. She is currently 19 years old. I trained her in the way of the blade and I educated her. The day of her 19 birthday, I told her why she was here. And from that, you know what happened.'
Val Keshra looked back at Shadow, waiting for a reaction.

"So you're a sort of messenger." Shadow said, clarifying. Her own mind was sent back into memory, but she shook it off, burying the thoughts like she usually did.

'Messenger would be one term,' said Val Keshra, not looking away from Shadow, 'but assassin would be another.'
Val Keshra stood up and walked to the entrance of the cave, then sitting down, and continuing his counting.
'Now, where was I...'
Val keshra had a very good memory, and could practically remember anything that had happened in his life, like most of the Terax, but he could do it precisely.
'Ah, there. 1303, 1304...'

Shadow's eyes darkened at the mention of assassin, but kept her mouth shut. Instead, she began to meditate quietly.

Val keshra kept on counting the glittering stars in the moonlit night.
'1312, 1313...'
At one point, Val Keshra saw a formation of stars. It made a certain shape. The shape of a temple. Earth will always surprise me, Val Keshra thought.
'1314, 1315...'
Val Keshra opened his eyes, and stopped counting. '1315.'
He planted his two swords into the ground, and began his monthly prayer, in honour of the Terax god, El tazar.
Val keshra spoke in Terax language. He murmured words never pronounced before and sounds that were unpronounciable.

Shadow had blocked out all forms of distraction, hovering a few feet in the air, crosslegged, as she tried to re-order her memories. They were becoming out of hand. Mixed up images of different Senate members, people she had killed, places she had been, events she had taken part in, herr family. Then four red eyes glowed in the darkness of her mind and she cried out, opening her eyes in a flash and falling out of the air.

Val Keshra was alerted by the sudden pulse of sound. He stopped his prayer, quickly turned around, and he saw that Shadow layed on the ground, sprawled.
He walked towards her, then crouching besides her. He used his telekinetic powers to try to seek something in her mind. He sighed, then said, 'You seem disturbed. You must have rest, Shadow. Your thoughts and memories are controlling you.'
Val keshra stood up, then went back to the entrance and continuing the prayer quietly.

"No duh." Shadow mumbled to herself, but took his advice, curling up to sleep with her cloak pulled tight around her. She knew what the sign meant. She, however, refused to admit it.

Val Keshra finished the prayer, and retracted the blade from the dry earth and setting it on his arm and laying that down on his leg. He then looked around, checking for anything. He continued his counting.
'1316, 1317...'
There was a star that was shining exeptionally bright. He looked at it for a long time, and decided that it was just another big star. He counted it like the others.
'1318, 1319...'

Shadow slept soundly, hardly stirring. Merlas walked into the cave and lay down next to the demoness, stretching a wing over her.
