Under the city streets.

Jamie nodded in her direction... "what did he want?" he asked her hoping for something positive.

Shadow's jaw clenched as she scowled again.
"Nothing you'd want to know."

" I do want to know though... so you'd better tell me before i go all i will own you soon on you..." he giggled

"I don't think you will ever own me Jamie." Shadow said with a small smile. "You might find it a bit hard."

"Your father seems to handle you okay... smash here and a smah there..." he said looking at her head... "You should get that checked out.."

Shadow gingerly touched the tender spot on her temple where her father had hit her and winced.
"It'll heal eventually." She said.

Jamie looked at her and flinched away... "It's okay... I wont even be trying to rule over you when we wed my love..." he smiled at her intensely "I will love you and cherish you like you never have been before.."

Shadow smiled slightly at him.
"That's what my father was saying, it was about us getting married."

"what does he have against that now? I thought father had sorted that for me..." jamie scowled with an edge of complete daydream, he was already thinking of was he could smash him to a pulp

Shadow bowed her head beneath her hood.
"He's against it. He said that I do not belong with you..." Shadow trailed off.

"Do you want to belong?" Jamie asked looking her in the eye, he wasn't as sure as he was earlier

Shadow turned her head to look him in the eye as well.
"I wish for nothing more, but I fear that he will intervene..."

"We will work out if we both have our hearts in souls in it Shadow..." h said, touching the other side of her face. He knew he had to leave now, but he wanted to explore this place, he had never given it a thought before, but now his curiousity had gotton the better of him...
"Comming?" he asked her signalling back to where to demons all stood

Shadow thought for a second before she nodded, smiling slightly.

Jamie walked back to where he'd come from... this time not even looking at his father and Kar, he just walked by them without a care. He turned a few corners and the distant screaming that could once be heard was gone now... This was an improvement to what he'd usually thought the underworld to be like. Maybe there was a place for him to fit in.

Shadow followed him, taking care not to look at her father, but scowling at the thought of him.

Jamie saw a room, this one seemed OK compared to thew others... it only had something like a torture chamber in it... It looked as if it had been used rcently because there was green demon goo all over the walls of the cage that sat in the corner... Jamie winced at the thought of it.

"So..." he asked her "You knwo your way around these places... you tell me where the demon underworld hot spots are..." he winked at her and smiled

Shadow smiled.
"I may have lived here for a year or two, but I made my home in the forest now, away from Kar."

Jamie looked at her "The forest? Isn't that extremely dangerous?" he asked her "Non magical people walk that land don't they?" he asked her his face creased

"They don't see me as I am, they see an illusion." Shadow assured him.

"whatr do you mean... that they really can see you, but they don't believe they do?" he asked her now he was completely confused

Shadow shook her head, taking something out of her pocket. It was a metal bracelet, with demonic scriptures engraves into it. She slipped it onto her wrist, and the illusion took hold, making her look like a young woman with black hair and bright blue eyes. She smiled at Jamie, looking completely human.

"wow...take it off quickly!" Jamie told her smiling "I think i prefere normal Shadow though..." he pointed out...

Shadow took of the bracelet again and slipped it back into her pocket, looking like her normal self.
"It's useful if I ever need to walk among the humans."
