The Secret

"Yeah, you run away." Holly called, and turned herself.

Shadow broke into a jog. Someone had contacted her mind, another job.

"Yeah, you BETTER RUN!" Holly yelled.
Arnold slapped her head.
"I want to see where shes going ... come on!" The fly said, zooming after her, "And be quiet you eejit, I know what you're like, you'll get us caught!"

Shadow disappeared into the forest, where a shroud of magic envelopped her. It faded within a second to show Shadow in full assassin gear just before she teleported.

Natalie jumped from tree to tree, still upset, and not wanting to speak to anyone, but at the same time wanting to protect Shadow.

Holly and Arnold hurried off in the same directon as Shadow.
"Did you see - "
"Yes." Holly said shortly.

Shadow appeared again in a back street of a city, and looked around, getting her bearings. There was another person there, a man, dressed in black, waiting for her.

Holly skidded to a halt, pulling Arnold back to listen.
"Shh ..." she whispered.

The man nodded shortly to Shadow, and handed her a photo and a piece of paper.
"Usual, Wolf, quick and make it look like suicide."

Holly's nostrils flared and Arnold gasped.
"She said she wasn't one anymore." Holly said through gritted teeth.

Natalie sighed.
"It's happening again..." she said.

Shadow nodded shortly in return before the man turned and walked away into the shadows. Shadow read and memorised the instructions ad photo before she incinerated them with her magic.

Holly could stand there no longer. She ran at Shadow and jumped onto her back.

Shadow whipped round, and grabbed Holly, throwing her down to the ground and putting her foot on her back before Holly would have been able to get up.

Natalie jumped from the tree and walked after them.
Natalie grabbed Shadow around the shoulders and pulled.

"What. Are. You. Doing. Here." Shadow spat, her eyes full of fury.

"Alot of things...seeing that you're ok...which it's clear you aren't," Natalie said calmly.

Shadow maintained her foot on Holly's back, and gritted her teeth.
"You shouldn't be here."

"Do I give a sh*t?" asked Natalie, "Oh that's right...no, I don't."

Shadow's eyes narrowed dangerously, and she vanished, leaving Holly lying on the ground.

Holly turned, still on the ground, to look at the spot in which Shadow had just disappeared from.
"What is she PLAYING at?" she asked Natalie, "Do you know she ... she killed my folks... and now she's... I dont trust her. I'm taking Ash and Im leaving and Im never coming back, and Im never speaking to her again."

"I know she killed your folks...and I've been wondering something else too..." said Natalie softly.

"What?"Holly asked, more angrilly than she meant to.

"....who killed mine?" said Natalie.

"It probably was her!" Holly said instantly, fired up, "She kills people, that's just her. She did it, I know she did. Im not letting Ash near her again. Nope. Never."
