A bad omen...

Bart blinked at Vrael three times as he saw him dashing out, then raging onto the brick wall. Bart didn't really understand. The girl with green eyes? What the hell's this thing?
Bart advanced to Vrael. The look on Bart's face was enough to know what he was asking for.

Vrael didn't need to look up to sense that it was Bart. He opened his mouth, reciting two lines of the prophecy to him. His voice was broken, as if he was trying hard to hold back tears.
"The silver blooddrinker will cry to the skies
And the girl of green eyes shall be lost to the void."

Bart raised one eyebrow at the two sentences Vrael pronounced.
It's obvious, the silver blood drinker is Vrael. And the girl of green eyes is Alba? Lost to the void?
Bart shoved his face into his palm, his claws slightly ripping his skin. He slammed himself against the wall at his turn. I knew my life was going to be complicated...
'Mind reciting the rest, Vrael?'

Vrael nodded once, starting from the beginning.
"On the twelfth moon of the Aquarius Summon
The demon shall be summoned by the presence of the Messenger angel
The demon shall force a union, but will be defeated
Half the power of the demon shall be installed into the union
On the sixteenth moon of the Aquarius summon
Two girls shall be born of the Messenger Angel and the demon
One a Halfling wolf, one a Halfling raven
By the third moon of their birth, the Halfling wolf shall discover her power
And so the prophecy shall begin.
On the night of the 333rd moon of the Halfling wolf
Wolf and demon shall lock in mortal fight
The victor of such shall take rule over darkness
Neither Halfling nor demon shall survive this combat
On the moon following
The silver blood drinker shall cry to the skies
And the light of the world shall fail
The girl of green eyes will be lost to the void.

Bart thought. Okay, lessee here. Bart put his face into one of his palms, and started thinking.
On the twelfth moon of the Aquarius Summon, dunno what the hell that is.
The demon shall be summoned by the presence of the Messenger angel, I dunno who the messenger is. Could the demon be Kar? He needs to be in here somewhere. We'll see later on.
The demon shall force a union, but will be defeated, probably means that Kar shall be defeated, simply.
Half the power of the demon shall be installed into the union, the words speak for themwelves.
On the sixteenth moon of the Aquarius summon, again, dunno what the heck that is.
Two girls shall be born of the Messenger Angel and the demon, hmm, duno yet. Could be anybody.
One a Halfling wolf, one a Halfling raven, the Raven must be Raven, Shadow's sister, and the wolf has to be Shadow, because she transformed into a wolf not long ago.
By the third moon of their birth, the Halfling wolf shall discover her power, the words speak for themselves.
And so the prophecy shall begin, same here.
On the night of the 333rd moon of the Halfling wolf, that also means of the halfling Raven, but let's continue.
Wolf and demon shall lock in mortal fight, Shadow shall fight Kar.
The victor of such shall take rule over darkness, the words speak for themselves.
Neither Halfling nor demon shall survive this combat, okay, I don't get it, who's the ruler if they both die?
On the moon following, mhmm.
The silver blood drinker shall cry to the skies, Vrael shall become desperate.
And the light of the world shall fail, we'll all be doomed to hell.
The girl of green eyes will be lost to the void, and Alba's going to die.

Vrael started hitting his head off the wall again, trying to think of a way to get Alba away from the prophecy. He had no idea how to go about it, but he was determined to find a way.

Bart waited for the others to come out. They were going to sooner or later. He put his back against a wall, and stared up at the moon again. The new figure was making him nervous.
My life's already complicated enough. But I guess I can't choose what decision my mind takes.

Alba started as Vrael crashed out of the bar. She stood, ready to follow him out, then remembered something. She turned to the bewildered Jammy bahind the counter and called:
"Sorry, Jammy. I'll pay later, i swear! Got to go!"
She smiled sympathetically at the expression of incomprihention on the punk's face. If only i could explain it all to them... she though, but that would just lead to disaster as usual.
Alba ran out of the pub, spotting Bart and Vrael out of the corner of her eye. Heading towards them, her heart tightenned. What if something serious's come up?
"Vrael, what is it?!" she cried, running up to him and taking his arm. Then she whispered: "What's happenned?"

Vrael looked at Alba with a look of pure pain on his face. Shadow leant against a wall, keeping her injured leg off the ground.
"Vrael is supposed to destroy light on the world, and he will also kill the 'girls of green eyes'. Meaning you, in short."

"You wat?!" was all Alba could think to say.
She turned to Shadow, hoping for a longer explination.

Bart intervened. 'Alba, it's quite simple, I don't know what you don't get: Basically, Vrael is suppose to turn off the light switch of the Earth, and he's supposed to also shut off your life. Isn't that simple?'
Bart said it calmly, but in fact, he was freaking terrorized.

"It's all in the prophecy, but we didn't know who the girl of green eyes could be. Now we do, and basically, Vrael's kicking himself over it." Shadow said.

Alba stared at them blankly. She understood. There was a long and painfull silence inside her head. Then...
Why always prophecies?...
She finally asked in a very small voice that didn't sound like her at all:
"How is it possible to destroy the whole earth?

"Not the earth. Just the light." Shadow corrected.

"Yeah, well that leads to the earth, doesn't it. No light, no plants, no animals, no humans," she looked down, tears welling in her eyes. Then she whispered so low she barelly heard the words herself: "We're all gonna die..."

"Why do you think we're trying to get around it?" Shadow asked sarcastically.

Bart thought one moment that his quest was useless.
Bart yelled, and hit the ground with his two fists, lifting the ground slightly. His tail whipped against the earth. 'God, damn it!'

Both demons jumped violently, and turned to face Bart.
"What was that for?" Shadow asked.

Bart looked up at the rest of the group.
'Sorry, moment of pure rage.' he explained. 'When there's nothing to do, and that death is going to be in the conspicuous future, sometimes you just have to let it all out, or at least most of it.'

Shadow nodded slowly.
"I know the feeling." She said. "It just tends to be more dangerous in a demon."

'Luckily, I still have the bracelets,' Bart answered, tightening the bracelets onto his arms. They glinted in the moonlight as he did so. His eyes did the same, and they glistened in the night. Red lights blared through his eyes. Bart bit his lip.

Shadow nodded, taking a circlet of metal out of her bag, putting it on her head. It used the same principle as the bracelets, and she needed to keep her magic under control.

Alba took a deep breath, slipping her arms round Vrael's waist and holding him close.
"We'll find a way," she whispered softly, closing her eyes and desperatelly trying to block out the terrible world around them.

'You'll need to find a loophole for that, Alba,' Bart answered, 'Prophecies aren't made to be broken. If we could find something in the prophecy that could help us. Seems like we can't.'
Bart turned around, and he sighed. He put his hands in his pockets. His eyes glistened.

"As far as we know, there's no loophole Alba, but I'm sure my family will do all they can to protect you." Shadow said reassuringly. Even if I can't... She added to herself. Vrael held Alba close, his head on hers. He didn't want to let her die, not like that, not ever.
