Night of the new moon

Vrael, not taking his eyes off the frowing form in the air, reached forwards, placing a finger on Shadow's neck. Sure enough, the pulse was fading as fast as the form was growing. The form continued to develop, until it stopped, and came to rest on the ground next to Shadow just as Vrael felt her pulse stop. The magic faded from around it, showing a girl that looked to be about fifteen curled in the foetal position.
She looked up at all the others, blinking. Her jet black hair had two white streaks through it. She looked like Shadow, but there were key changes. Her eyes were still violet, but they were more angular, her ears more pointed, and most prominent of all perhaps, a wolf's tail.

Bart blinked at the girl. He gaped. He quickly put one hand on Shadow's neck. No pulse. He sobbed. Shadow was dead. He lowered his head over her body, his tears falling off of his face. His purple tail laid itself onto her forehead, as Bart looked up at the sky, eyes gleaming with tears, his hair falling over his face.

Alba had a look of utter shock on her face and felt faint. She had just witnessed the reincarnation of her friend... omg ((lol))

One by one, all the demons morphed into their respective animals, calling out mournfully to the skies. Cika stood awkwardly at the side, trying to hold back his own tears. All he knew was that Shadow had been the head of the clan, and that she had to die. Merlas also stood at the side, and her call to the sky lasted longer than the other ones before she started to turn frantically round in circles.

Bart thudded on the ground with his clawed fists. His tail thumped against the ground, at the same intervals as he did with his fists. His canines pierced his skin. His claws slashed his skin, also. Black sparks rose into the air, and cured Bart's injures, that would just open again, as he did not stop the pain against himself. His hair fell over his face as he lowered it. His red eyes glistened.

The demons turned back into their more humanoid selves, and slowly started to prepare for a funeral. Shaeman morphed back into a pegasus, starting to dig a hole, aided by Merlas and Onyx in wolf form. Vrael was starting to clean up the blood from Shadow's body. None of the demons spoke, acting in a death like manor.

Bart looked blankly at the ground. Tears dropped from his face onto the ground, making slight plicks as it did so. He noticed the others digging a hole. once they had finished, Bart looked at Shadow. He lifted her chest up to put one arm under, and he put his other arm at the joint of her legs. He stood up, hair falling over his head, and turned to the hole. He approached slowly towards it.

Vrael, before Bart picked Shadow up, drew the demoness' sword from its sheath. The demons and Merlas gathered around the hole, each with their heads bowed, eyes closed. The reincarnation stood to the side, unsure. The leftover magic from her formation started to gather again, forming into another figure, that of a wolf. Once the formation was finished, the animal sat next to the reincarnation. The wolf looked exactly like Shadow when she had been in her wolf form, right down to the small patch of white between her eyes.

Alba was crying uncontrolably, but did not follow the others to the whole. Instead, she aproached tha newcommer. The girl did look exactly like Shadow, but, as Alba smelt the air, she noticed a different smell. It was more... wolf...
Alba managed to mutter something to the girl, unsire of what the words were herself.

The girl looked at Alba with quizzical violet eyes. The wolf sitting next to her leant its head to one side, ears cocked. Neither of them had understood, but they were willing to listen.

Alba forced back her tears and managed to say:
"I'm Alba."
She smiled at the pair, trying to make friendlyness radiate from her. She wanted them to understad that she was a friend.

The girl gave a small half smile.
"I know." She murmured, looking down at the wolf beside her, one hand on its head.

"Shadow?" asked Alba, "Is that still you?"
She was weary of the new commer, not knowing what to do.

The name triggered something inside the girl's mind, but it was the wolf that reacted the most to the name, wagging its tail. The girl looked at Alba, trying to think.
"I don't know..." She said quietly.

Tears rolled down Alba's face. She doesn't know if she's Shoadow or not...
Alba knew that this was the day her life changed forever...

Bart gently and calmly posed Shadow into the hole. Hearing something he recognized behind him, he turned around. Shadow's name and voice. His four eyes glistened under the hair that fell over them. He approached the girl quietly, his tail flicking at the air. He crouched next to her. He asked, quietly, 'Do you remember anything?'

"It seems like a dream..." The girl replied quietly, trying to think.

'A dream?' repeated Bart, 'You mean... Your memories are very vague to you?'
His tail flicked at the air impatiently, him waiting for an answer. The necklace glinted as he moved his head slightly forwards. He noticed it and looked at it. He took it off his neck, and put it to Shadow's face. 'Do you remember this?'

Shadow looked at the necklace frowning.
"It seems so far away... I remember blood, and betrayl, but that's all..."

Alba tried to adjust her ripped clothing so as to hide most of her bear skin. She had only just noticed her nakedness, and as she was surrounded by several males, she decided not to draw too much attention to herself. Even so, questions itched on her toung, desperate to get loose.
She suddenly blurted out:
"But who are you?"
Her green eyes surched the girl's, trying to find any proof that this vulnerable creature infront of her truly was a reincarnation of the Shadow she knew so well.

The girl rubbed her right temple with her right hand, seemingly trying hard to think. She stopped briefly as her fingers brushed over the scar around her right eye, a trait that only Shadow had seemed to bear. She looked at Alba and Bart through her violet eyes.
"There are so many memories in my head... they're so blurred... They can't all be from the same person though, there're too many..." She murmured.

"Well," Bart said, closing his eyes, "Shadow's lived long enough to have lots of memories. It could be from the same person. But maybe... Just maybe..."
Bart stood up, letting his hair fall down on his eyes.
"Would there be a chance that she gathered up memory from other people? I mean, maybe the prophecy said that. The prophecy said that if the One was present, one shall live, but it didn't say how."
Bart looked at the girl. His eyes glistened.
"And now that I think of it," he began, "How do we know that this isn't just a reincarnated Karthragan? I mean... It's still a possibility."

The girl frowned, trying to take in all that Bart was saying. She narrowed her eyes slightly in concentration, trying to pull together all the posssible memories she had.
"I remember walking along a black stone corridor; fighting something bigger than me; I remember walking through a park, and dipping my hand in a fountain..."

'A park, you say?' Bart asked, looking at the girl through her violet eyes. It can't be park Hoche, I can't remember her dipping her hand in a fountain...
'And a black stone corridor.' Could it be the necklace cave? No, that was dark grey. Except if the memory is very vague, and it gets confused with black.
Bart was trying to find out what was happening.

"I can also remember walking through a a crowded corridor, with triangular windows..." She murmured, more to herself than to anyone else.
