Night of the new moon

Okay, now I know I haven't been there.
Bart put up his hand to his face, and pinched the top part of his nose between his thumb and index. He concentrated, trying to figure out what those memories were, even though he had never seen them, or even thought of them. He listed all the locations he knew.
Not a church, demons hate holy places.

The girl shook her head again.
"Everything is so mixed up and blurred." She said softly.

Vrael started to speak in low tones in demonic, looking down into the hole dug for Shadow. It was kept short, ending with Vrael thrusting Shadow's battle sword into the grave head, as was tradition for Synari warriors.

Alba couldn't take her eyes away from the new Shadow. Things would be so different without her, she didn't know how she'd cope.
But there had to be a way to connect all the memories inside her mind, though she had no idea how to go about it. It was all beyond her competely.

Bart gazed at the girl, still concentrating on the memories she supposedly has. He wondered why she had those memories. Heck, were they even Shadow's? They could be Karthragan's, as far as he was concerned. The prophecy could have anything in it, and they could've missed just one thing, which would change everything.
But, now that he thought of it, what was he doing in a prophecy?

The girl's tail wrapped itself around her left leg as she looked distinctly uncomfortable. Vrael, having finished the short burial ceremony required, walked towards the girl. She backed away a step, remembering the man distantly, but she couldn't think where from. He watched her with a hard, distrustful gaze.

Bart couldn't really understand. She couldn't remember Vrael, but she could remember more distant things? Whoa. Bart put a hand on her shoulder to try and recomfort her. 'You can't even remember Vrael? Vrael Mercian?' he asked, whispering.

The girl was trembing slightly under the vampire's unwavering gaze. She shook her head desperately.
"It's all so fuzzy! I can't remember!" She said, starting to panic slightly.

Bart's eyes widened. Big time. 'Fuzzy'?! That's a word Shadow would've never used. This can't be her. At least, not completely.
Bart shook his hand on the girl's shoulder, trying to get her out of her thoughts. It was maybe not the time to think about all these things.

The girl snapped out of the thoughts, but couldn't tear her gaze away from Vrael's. The other demons were behind him, some watching the girl with angry, sad or just distrustful expressions. Shadow reached out to Merlas, remembering flying on her back but the mare laid her ears back, baring her teeth.

Bart looked at the other demons. He then looked back at the girl. All these eyes may seem very odd to her.
Bart stood up, looking around. He saw what he was looking for. he walked towards it, it glinting in the sunlight. He crouched next to it, picked it up, and strapped the silver bracelets to his arms. As he walked back to the girl and crouched next to her, his fur went back to the normal brown colour, his eyes merged together, his claws shortened to their normal length, the spikes in his back slowly retracted, and when they were gone, a loud crack was heard as the shoulder blades crawled back into their normal places. He coiled the necklace around his arm. His tail flicked twice at the air. He glanced at where Shadow was buried. His face darkened, and he looked back at the girl.

The girl slowly got to her feet, her tail still wrapped around her left leg as she backed away a couple of paces before suddenly turning and running, the wolf bounding alongside her. Shaeman instantly sprang forwards in chase, tackling the girl and pinning her down.

Bart blinked, wondering what this was all about. He skidded to where Shadow was pinned, and crouched next to her. "I think she's not feeling easy, with all these people, Shaeman. It would be best if one of us talked face to face with her." Bart looked at Shaeman through his glistening red eyes.

Shaeman narrowed his eyes.
"We can't trust her." He said clearly as th other demons gathered round, forming a circle around the girl, preventing any forther escape attempts.

Bart glared at Shaeman.
"We don't know if she's Shadow. She doesn't know if she's Shadow. We don't know anything about her. The only way we can is if we get clear into her mind."

Shaeman scowled, but stood up, moving to join the surrounding circle. The girl sat up slowly, wrapping her arms around her wolf's neck. The wolf licked her cheek affectionately before the gril buried her face in the fur around its neck.

Bart put a hand on the girl's shoulder, hoping that the girl wouldn't react in a hostile manner. He gazed at her with open red eyes. "Think carefully," he began, "Try to remember your name. Search deep into your memories. Or else, I'll have to use magic again and search the deepest of your thoughts."
Bart wasn't sure what he was saying. he had never tried to search a being's memory or thoughts before. But he was willing to try.

The girl looked up at Bart with wide violet eyes. She frowned trying to concentrate on finding her name.
"There are a lot of names that I remember..." She murmured, looking down at the grass again. "There's... Wolf... Roth..."

"Well, then," Bart continued, his face unchanging, "We'll just call you Roth as for now. Now, do you remember anything in detail?" Bart asked those questions slowly and pronouncing every word correctly. He didn't want to sound like if he was treating Roth as an inferior being, but he wanted to make sure that she understood.

"No," Shaeman said firmly. "She bears no relation to our clan any more, and therefore has no right to bear the name. Call her wolf, if she is so attatched to the creature beside her."

The girl's grip on the wolf tightened as she turned her gaze briefly to Shaeman, biting her lip. The looked at Bart again, taking a deep breath.
"I remember a city of towers, and people in white robes. I remember... a city with a fortress over it, and I remember running over rooftops with two other people..."

"Dominique and I," Bart said to himself. He looked at Wolf. "The city of towers you are talking about is Grenoble, my home city. The towers you speak about are apartments. Smaller skyscrapers. The people in white robes... I don't really know what's that about. The city with a fortress over it... Maybe you saw the Bastille, but it may not be that. As for the rooftops thing, those two people where a female named Dominique and me. Anything else you remember?"

Wolf hugged her knees to her chest, closeing her eyes to concentrate.
"I remember battlefields, with lots of blood... I can remember a kind, black haired woman singing to me... I remember," She paused, her eyes opening wide, "I remember killing people... climbing through ventilation shafts and killing people..."

Bart put a hand over Wolf's mouth, sensing that the memories had gone too far. He had to admit, it wasn't what he was looking forwards to. He didn't want the memories to go that bad. The black haired woman... Is that her mother? Could be.
Bart remembered the memory Shadow, when alive, had passed him just after the death of the other Kraferrs. he shivered slightly. Knowing that Wolf was thinking about that. Poor her.

Wolf, shaking, buried her head in the wolf's fur again, trying to hold back the tears that were threatening to well up. There were so many memories in her head, too many. The demons didn't move. Even Archangel and Onyx were glaring at her.

Bart sensed the slight hostility behind him, but he didn't pay attention. He crept closer to Wolf. His tail coiled around his arm, preventing his necklace from glinting. Maybe we could...
No, it would be a wrong question, as it concerns one's private life.
Or does it?

Wolf sat up again as she brought her emotions back under control. Her tail unwrapped itself from her leg, and she held it close to her, her breath still shaking slightly.
