The Truth of Death-- CONTINUED.

Shadow, unable to do much, just made sure that the hood on her cloak was pulled low over her face, hiding her features in shadow. She too sensed something, although she wasn't sure what.

Bart looked around. 'Maybe this isn't quite the place to talk about this kind of thing.' he said, looking upwards. Dominique looked at the room as he said that, and she let out a short whimper of mental pain.

Shadow nodded once, trying to think of what they had to do now, but she came up with a blank.

'We need to move,' Dominique said, turning back Kraferr. Her nails quickly turned into claws, and her fur sprouted very quickly. Bart did the same. His transformation was slower.
'Why?' Bart asked.
'I sense something, and I don't want to find out what, that's why.'
Bart nodded, and jumped, catching the rim of one building. He heaved himself up, and lowered his hand over the rim. Dominique turned to Shadow.
'Need any help to get up there?' she asked. She wondered how bart managed to jump that high. She couldn't do the same.

Shadow shook her head. Using something she picked up as an assassin, she ran at one wall of the alley, jumped, pushed off, turned a somersault, pushing off the other wall and repeating the process until she had reached the top. Blood was pouring from her leg, but she felt no pain.

Dominique looked up at Shadow. She then went up to the side of one wall, pushed greatly with one leg, then backflipping as she landed onto the other wall, then pushing again against her two legs, in a frontflip-backflip sequence. She reached the top, and Bart caught Shadow's hand and pulled her up. He noticed the blood, but preferred saying nothing about it.

Shadow thanked Bart, turning to look out ver the city again, over the web of light. She thought about things, and then pushed them out of her mind.

Dominique pointed North. 'If we're fast enough,' she explained, 'We could get over buildings without being noticed.' Dominique stood there, arm in air, pointing in the northern direction. Bart nodded, and walked towards the rim of the building.

Shadow also nodded once, taking a small run up before vaulting over the gap between two buildings, thinking that she was doing this for the second time.

Bart jumped after Shadow. He caught himself on the next building, and he rolled to break his chute. Dominique followed, but she landed perfectly, and almost without a sound. She was better at discretion. Bart was better at skills. Eh, Bart thought, I need to learn how to do that.

Shadow just shrugged, relying on the talents she had picked up with the assassins to get her over the roofs.

'Two weeks,' Bart said, 'Before the prophecy takes place. Am I right, Shadow?' Bart asked. He took a glance at his watch. They had two weeks before dying. He had better make the best out of the few days that were left for his life. He sighed. After all, dying wasn't that bad. I mean, you don't even know it.
Once you're dead. Bart's face darkened.

Shadow nodded, her face darkening.
"A month and a half until vrael's part."

Bart had forgotten about that bit. Death wasn't on the date Shadow supposedly died. Why did Bart attribute Shadow's death date and his? Lots of question mixed up in his mind, but he shook them off. He looked at Dominique, who was silent up until now.

"I die in two weeks." Shadow said softly. Her face wasn't sad, not even annoyed. It was a mixture of acceptance and sorrow.

Bart nodded. Why did it have to be so? Prophecies, all those damn things that chose how your life was going to be.
Bart tensed his fist. He outstretched his fingers, then clasped them back together. His red eyes gleamed as he did so, and a small blow of frisky wind blew Bart's hair and shirt.

Shadow's hair lifted behind her, her cloak billowing slightly in the wind. She had lived with the prophecy for so long, she stopped wondering about how her life would be without it.

Bart breathed out deeply. Dominique then intervened. 'Hey, we should get goin', if we don't want to be seen.'
Bart looked at Dominique and nodded. Dominique didn't understand the current situation. Not her fault, thought Bart.
Bart jumped onto another building, putting one hand on the ground and rolling just after. Dominique jumped and landed, using her knee and hand to break her fall. They waited for Shadow.

Shadow leapt the gap easily, landing in a couple of backflips. She looked back over her shoulder at the other two, and turned to jump to the next rooftop.

Bart followed Shadow, thinking about the prophecy. Dominique thought of things her own concern. Bart's face darkened, and he gripped onto the necklace tightly. His red eyes glistened in the shadows made by his hair.

Shadow pulled her hair into a high ponytail, but left a section of it out, the section that hung over one half of her face. Making sure that the others were following her, she jumped to the next rooftop, trying hard not to think of the prophecy, but it was so close, nothing else could really occupy her mind.

Bart jumped to the next building. He crouched slightly as he landed. If they ever had to fight, which was pretty conspicuous, Bart had to begin training now. Dominique landed normally. After she landed, she continued a bit, stomping on her feet to cut her landing. She looked back at Bart, then looked forwards.

Shadow leapt lightly, landing in flips again to take the impact of the fall. A flash of pain shot up her leg, and she realised that her spell was wearing off. She ripped another strip from the bottom of her cloak, wrapping it tightly around the wound. She had managed to rip the stitches out of her leg long ago, and now it bled freely. She stood up again, ready, or so she appear to be, to continue.

Bart stood up from his recent landing, and looked at Shadow. He noticed Shadow's wound. 'We should stop here,' Bart said, 'It would be kinda weirs seeing two monkies and a woman on the rooftops of a building, but who would look, anyways?'
Dominique nodded, and sat down. Bart approached Shadow, while asking, 'Can I help you with that wound?'

Shadow shook her head.
"It's fine," She lied. She sat down, closing her eyes briefly. SHe opened them, and looked out over the city again. All the humans milling around, sleeping, eating, getting on with normal life. She didn't know what 'normal life' was. She never had done.
