| “Gabriel!" She screamed in fear as the wild beast ripped his chest. She was momentarily frozen on the spot by the menacing growls that rippled from the beast's massive body. Realizing this finally was her chance at showing what she could, she took a strong hold on the strangely comforting blade. The feral monster angrily leapt towards her in a wide bow, large black claws intending to obtain the highest price. Ilena dodged, flickering metal slid sharply into its frontlegs and made it fall down with a stiffled whine on the by leafs covered forestfloor. Too late did she realize that she had made a big mistake to think it was over already; the determined wolf jerked right with a sudden movement and dashed at high speed to its prey. Steeling herself for the impact, Ilena sprinted forward. Dagger roughly pierced through onyx fur, right into its chest and got stuck in a mass of muscle and bone.
Her heart thumped deafeningly in her ears. The werewolf had only slowed down a bit, that puny knife wasn't a hindrance at all. Her mind too slow to process what happened next, she found herself flat on her back, helplessly gasping for breath, with the heavy panting of the beast in her face. For the first time Ilena locked eyes with the raged yellow ones. No trace of humanity, nor sanity was left. She winced in pain as its claws dug mercilessly into her shoulders. Jagged fangs hungrily descended towards her troath. Ilena saw her chance, she pulled out the bloody dagger with great force and stabbed it through its monstrous head with a sickening crack, blood gushing rapidly out of the large wound.
In its blinding pain, the excruciatingly roaring beast slashed violently in her face and stomach before slumping over to one side. Ilena managed to get right and swayed over to its head. Yanking out the now crimson stained weapon, she buried it deeply into its throat. Veins pumped dark coloured blood swiftly out of the gaping slash. The wolf's body twitched a last time and froze, to never get up again. Ilena then smiled weakly at Gabriel. "Looks like I got that little bastard eh", she managed to get out. She had doubted she could do it. But, here she stood. Still alive and breathing. Ilena suddenly let out a small scream and dubbled over, the painful wounds in her abdomen furiously biting in her body. It felt as if an enormous fire raged inside.

| Gabriel stood up, and smiled at Ilena. "Indeed you did..." Gabriel flinched when Ilena screamed and toppled over. In one swift movement Gabriel dashed to where she now lay on the floor, her blood in a puddle. Gabriel picked her up with both of his hands, and started to walk out of the forest. The leaves and undergrowth crunched under him as he stepped over it, and then became stained red as blood from his claws and Ilena fell on to them. As the tree's started to give way and the outside of the forest could be seen, Gabriel started to speed up. He broke into a flat out sprint, accelerating to a speed of 120 miles per hour. Gabriel quickly made it to a city but he kept moving, weaving inbetween the cars, anybody who saw him would think nothing of it, due to the speed he was travelling at. He jumped and bounced off of a car that was in his way, doing a flip. His eyes snapped to the red glowing colour as he became even faster. He skidded to a stop, kicking up a load of dust and other such things. He was in the country side, outside of a church, that looked abandoned from the outside. Upon opening the doors it was apparent the outside was a disguise. There was technology in here, computers, screens displaying data, beds, and a medical bay. Gabriel walked over to it and placed Ilena on it, before speaking he checked if she had passed out from the blood loss. "Whats your blood type?" | |

| Her mind had spaced out after Gabriel hoisted her up from the dank forestfloor. A freezing, yet slightly pleasant numbness captured her body as he ran away at high speed. The one thing she sometimes saw, when Ilena managed to open her eyes, were mixed colours. It seemed as if they had left only minutes ago when he already stopped before a church. A church with a complete hidden base inside. New excitement took over. Barely did she feel or hear when they had entered. Only this great numbness. Then she suddenly noticed her body laying on one of the many beds and listening to what he said. "What kind of question is that?" she heard herself reply with her usual, yet concerningly weak, sarcastic voice. She frowned, trying to remember that one docter visit a long time ago. "It's O negative", she softly said, sinking her head in the pillow. | |

| Gabriel nodded as he got out a blood pack that was labelled O negative. He connected the blood pack to a tube that ended in a syringe, the whole thing was hooked up to a machine. Gabriel hooked up several blood packs to the machine. He slowly poked the syringe through Ilena arm, and the machine started to pump blood into her arteries. Gabriel then started to bandage her up. | |

| An object unseen was propelled, during the time in which the bandaging was taking place, into the door of what would appear to most persons to be a rather old, but well kept church. The sound produced was not that of a command for entry but rather the harried and quickly repeated knock of a person who desires with a sort of fearful vehemence that the obstruction of the portal between he and the alter of God be removed. Thus was the assault upon the door redoubled after only a few seconds of waiting. Not a sharp wrapping, as it would be with the knuckles, but a sort of booming that is made by hitting the wood with the bottom of a clenched fist. At last, again with barely any time between the previous beating, yet another attempt was made at gaining the attention of the persons within, this time it sounded as if the obviously agitated party had added the palm of his other hand, for the sound of booming was accompanied this time by a more prolonged sort of smacking reverberation. | |

| Gabriel looked up from Ilena, and turned to face the door. He shook his head, that someone would be as rude as to beat the door down, but then again, they could be in trouble, and he could have not opened the door fast enough. Gabriel was at the door in a matter of a second, and he started to undo the seemingly endless amount of locks and bolts. Upon finally undoing the last bolt, he turned the handle and the door flung open. | |

| There, cast in silhouette at first by the bright rays of sun without, stood what might have been a shadow itself, come to life by separation from its intended anchor at the foot of another man. Yet, if one would take the time to notice, despite the angle of the light which illuminated the man, no shadow fell in any direction around him. But one would be hard pressed to have noticed such a thing for the rest of his appearance. He was breathing hard as though having run a long way and his face was flushed with exertion. Around the heat generated one could see the abnormally sickly pallor that was the customary color. Over the face hung damp wet strands of hair that, had they not clung to him by their own saturated nature, one could imagine was slicked to the face by the thin sheen of sweat that covered the man's visage like a film. The clothing which also seemed to adhere to his skin was both dark and wet, making one believe that he had perhaps recently gone for a swim while fully dressed. Little bits of debris and mud clung to him all over. Even his hair had what might have been some sort of aquatic plant entwined about and within the dark mass. The left hand of this disheveled creature had convulsively clenched upon the outside of the door frame, and the knuckles shone white with the ferocity of his grasp. Bent slightly, he gasped again and again, attempting to gather back to him the wind that was necessary to speak. His right arm curled about his torso, as though holding back some pain. Finally, those dark eyes turned upwards to look at his savior. In the action, he could not help but see the blood-stained garments. Upon the white, the red color, for it was still freshly bled, produced an effect like that of a lighthouse beacon. Nostrils flared slightly, the dark eyes continued their path to the eyes which were of different colors. As he looked up, the man's dark eyes suddenly shifted themselves. From their depths sprang a sort of flame which burned through the dark irises like the fires of the netherworld themselves. All the color that had been in his face washed away, leaving behind only a sickly pallor, nay it was more like the skin of a corpse. His lips drew back ever so slightly from that oral cavity so commonly known to science as the mouth to reveal within a full set of sharply pointed teeth. A small, shallow breath escaped the man's mouth, but then he seemed to regain the slightest bit of control enough to plead with an earnest voice. "Please, sanctuary," was all that came out at first through the gasps, "I must hear for myself those words, 'You are granted sanctuary my child.' Those I must hear from your lips. Please, I beg of you." And with what might have been either incredible fear or powerful force of will, the man looked back slowly and painfully as though he expected at any moment to be pursued. | |

| "You are granted sanctuary...my child." Gabriel answered to the strange figure. Gabriel looked at him, and gathered that the man was a vampire, and needed permission to enter. Gabriel smiled, as he stepped to the left, to allow the man to entire. The man was as pale as death itself, possibly due to the lack of a blood flow that humans had. Gabriel looked out, behind the man, he could tell by the tortured mannerisms that the figure displayed that something was wrong, and judging by the figures glances behind him, that he may have been followed. Gabriels eye's flickered to a red color, with an eerie glow. "Were you followed?" Gabriel asked, as he allowed the silver chain and cross around his neck to become visible, as he stepped out and stood behind the man, protectively. "No one shall harm those seeking sanctuary in this most holy of places!" Gabriel exclaimed, the words hissing from the back of his throat. | |

| The man stumbled forward, almost clawing his way into the supposed church. The left hand which had been propping him up a moment before was now utilized to propel the man laden with his dripping wet frame and the clothes which clung to it beneath the entry. His dark hair disengaged itself from his face to whirl down around in front of him. There the head hung while his back heaved as his lungs struggled violently to draw breath into them so as to restore his body to a more normal state. His limbs shook, whether from cold or fatigue was unsure, although it was more than likely a combination of the two. The right arm was still wrapped around the midsection as the man doubled over. His gasps were all that could be heard for a moment. Then, from where he stood he almost spasmodically cried out, "Quickly! Shut the doors!" Even then he still stood in the light which came from the outside, what was without the sun of an evening. It burned in the sky with an orange glow, casting everything in a hot yellow aura. Yet, he stood, a man like his own shadow. Black and dark and hunched over. He was quite obviously not a tall man, and yet he seemed larger than he was. The left hand had managed to catch onto one of the tables and was once again supporting the apparently feeble figure. Underneath the hair so dark from wetness the face still retained that same cadaverous nature and the eyes... The eyes were like twin lanterns of liquid fire. It was as though the man were burning from within and those two windows on his face were the only indication of the inner agony, the fury, and the deadliness contained inside such a week looking creature. "Here we are safe," the voice began to regain some of its natural coolness, but was, at the moment tainted by a growl like that the fire makes as it consumes its prey, "Here, they will not dare come." Then it was, and only then that he looked up. The girl... Blood was everywhere, she was helpless, damaged, perhaps even dieing, and the blood rage had already taken him. The snarl escaped his lips as though the fire burning inside his chest could reach out and engulf the prone figure. Yet, he restrained himself from leaping upon her immediately, it grew harder visibly as he strained against his own nature. "Give me strength," he cried out towards Gabriel, "That which is holy, I need that which is holy, and quickly." The last was said in a voice so stretched with anxiety and pain as to be once again the sort of command that is rather a plea. | |

| Gabriel nodded to his first request, as he was still at the door, he closed it and in a metter of seconds had all the bolts and locks done up. He then darted into another room, a loud clatter could be heard as he returned, holding a Silver cross, roughly the size of a sledgehammer. He offered it to the vampire that stood before him, when the man did not take it instantly, Gabriel drew impatient, as his friend was dieing of blood loss. He propped the cross in the ground and returned to Ilena, and started to operate the machine one again, pumping more blood into her veins, trying desperately to keep her alive. He made sure the machine was working fine, and then continued to bandage her up, attempting to close the wounds. | |

| Ilena was silently drifting between soothing unconsciousness and the giddy, numb feeling that came with severe blood loss as a slight whisper of freezing wind made its way towards her waking frame. Voices resonated through the large chamber, the unknown, needy and commanding one capturing her endless curiosity at once. A sudden increase of what she suspected was transfused blood started to make its way inside her body, flowing through her veins and leaving an exceedingly uncomfortable feeling. In her surprise she swiftly rose right. Or better, tried to; her body protested heavily, sending stinging flashes of pain freely throughout her flesh. Her muscles contracted at the sensation. An inky crimson stain slowly appeared on the new bandages. She had ripped her wounds a bit. “Oops”, she guiltily whispered, more to herself. Her gaze then travelled further towards the newcomer. Her eyes widened the tiniest bit; another vampire. A seemingly hungry one on top of that.. She didn't know what to do, seeing as he most likely could smell her blood everywhere around the place anyway. "Hi", she just said, in a sad attempt at welcoming the stranger. | |

| The man did not reply to the girl whose voice caused him to fall one step more towards madness. This was evident by the sudden fiery red flash that emanated from his eyes . Like a tiger attacking a small creature which it fully intended to eat, The man performed a violent leap upon the cross which had been left for him by the white garbed one who possessed such a singular appearance. It was as though the simple act of touching the cross transformed him completely. Immediately the claw-like index outstretched itself and delicately found its way to the silver's surface, the fire was gone, the pain apparently vanished. It was the right hand that had grasped in itself the crucifix. The appendage curled itself around the object as though it had grown to be a part of it and was held so fast that the whole hand turned quite white with the amount of force so unnaturally imposed upon the object of holy symbolization. Thus, he stood to his full height, and yet seemed to stretch even farther than that, like a shadow imposed upon the air itself. The dark hair fell, as though of its own accord around the face without even the slightest provocation from his hand, instead of hanging where it had before the visage as it had a moment before. The left hand, now the only free claw left to the creature twitched for a moment, but no longer did the frame shiver. It was, however, quite obvious that this was not for the simplicity of him having been healed by the touch of that so holy artifact, but instead the force of his incredible will that restrained him from reverting to his previously hideous form. Slowly, and as though through a mist, the man stepped with incredible care towards the table upon which the girl laid. But this time, he did not flare as with that rage of the blood or the lust of a beast. It seemed rather that he still suffered and wished to keep his body from exerting itself in the least. He stopped about two meters from the table itself and remained there. "She will die if you continue on that way," his voice was now of a dark tone, but the growl was gone and merely replaced by a sort of melancholy bent that made him sound far more sober. | |

| Gabriel had left the room again, but he could hear the man perfectly fine. He walked back into the main room, wearing a black long coat. "What do you mean?" Gabriel asked the vampire curiously. Gabriel turned to look at Ilena, and the blood that had now soaked the bandages. He sighed, and picked up some more, he got some sterile scissors and cut the right length, before he walked over, ignoring that she was no conscious, and started to undo the previous bandages, to stitch the wound closed and replace them. | |

| "The wounds are too severe," that dark voice once again cut through the silence like scissors through a bloodstained bandage, "She's losing almost as much blood as you're putting into her. Can you not smell it? It's pungency fills my brain and tangles my thoughts..." He didn't move, just stood their watching, as though he had become in those short moments petrified. "Why have you associated with this human to begin with?" his question was really more of an accusation, "Why have you not turned her, if she really means so much to you that you should waste upon her so much blood? No, I am the last person to ask such questions. Please, I have some talent as a healer..." His right foot moved forward a fraction of a step. His wet clothing did not so much as sway, though it did drip as the water flowed downwards as directed by gravity. His left hand, which you will remember is his free hand, simultaneously raised in the same fractional manner as the foot. He wore a look on his face that indicated a desire to help. All of a sudden it had become so soft, softer even than might be possible on the visage of such a creature. None of his severely pointed teeth shown, and his dark eyes seemed to take up almost the entirety of the expression. Tired lines appeared on his face, and his slip of concentration allowed him to shiver once again from cold. "Please," it was all he would say, but in a voice unlike that he had used before, it was a voice laden with actual emotion. With a deep sort of longing to do that which one has... but perhaps it was not... A strand of tangled hair fell before his face, again as though of its own accord. He stood, awaiting whatever answer he might receive... | |

| "I'm observing, i vow, if any harm befalls her, you'll be dead before you can sink your teeth into her..." Gabriel answered protectively, he smiled, his fangs were not visisbly, but it was obvious by his superhuman abilities that he was not human. "Tell me, what is your name?" Gabriel asked the other vampire, as he fully removed the bandages from Ilena. "It is not my choice, as to whether or not a mortal becomes a vampire, the choice should be theirs..." Gabriel said, as he stepped back to allow the vampire closer to Ilena. But he did not falter his protective stance. | |

| His words.. They were so very true and direct that she was completely silenced for what felt like an agonizingly long time. Then they sank in; she was dieing. Fast. Her mind drowned in a daze, maybe from blood loss, but she doubted that. A twisted, sick sensation pooled in her stomach. She didn't even care about the fact that Gabriel, and that vampire, could view her body like this. Normally, they wouldn't have lived to see the day, but right now Ilena was too much in a fuddle to think about that. She cautiously gazed back at the stranger again, to her it was as if he actually cared. "What exactly would you do?", she asked, locking eyes with the interesting being, yet, not without an underlying hint of fear lacing her voice. | |

| The man did not answer either of the questions put to him, but rather returned her gaze. he allowed his eyes to rest on hers. Those giant, deep-brown organs of sight meant so much more. They were like windows to a tortured soul longing for redemption, but at the same time unwilling to take it when he knew it was well within his grasp. Then, turning slightly to face the now equally darkly clad demi-god that stood over the girl. He stretched out his hand towards the inhuman, his right hand. "I can't be touching this while I perform the procedure," his voice was almost scared, "The second I am finished, you will need to place this on my skin, or else I shall be lost and so shall she. If... if I try to eat her, kill me. All will be well with the coming of darkness, but you will want to move me away from her should that be the case. If I should have call to return from the dead, I will come back with the intent to kill."
With that, he relieved himself of the crucifix. The transformation was instantaneous. Once again the fire returned to his eyes. Those wickedly thin lips pulled back in a snarl. His skin became so pale that it seemed as though he had been bathed in whitewash. his body shook, not with fatigue or cold, but with anger restrained. Slowly, his left hand, like a claw stretched out over top of the prone body. That head covered as it was in black tangled strands was thrown back and a roar of ferocity escaped from the chest and rattled up through the throat to resound around the room. Then a voice far more natural began to speak those words so dark.
It was like wind, though that is not quite how one who had felt it would describe it. The room suddenly became quite dark as though a could had settled within. Mist seemed to rise, black mist and swirl about everything. Soon, it became so dense that only one thing could be seen, two luminous orbs of fire. They burned like the furnaces of Hades itself. The air trembled with power.
As though it had never happened, if it could have been a dream, if it could have been a figment brought on by fear and fatigue, the whole scene was gone. The girl, was whole once again. There was no more pain, for her. The man who was so obviously a vampire stood their. His face was so contorted with rage and pain as to be completely unrecognizable from the previous states that it had shown to these two. Now, it was as that of a beast entirely, none of the human was left.
And around it, upon the floor, was not a puddle of water as had been dripping from him, but instead a crimson sort of pool that was slowly growing. It made no sound, but prepared as if to destroy both the girl and the man before him with a single blow.

| Gabriel snarled protectively as he grabbed Ilena by the wrist, and pulled her behind him. He looked down towards the pool, his eyes started to glow a crimson colour, as his claws extended, as did his fangs. He put his foot in the pool on the ground. He gathered the vampire had turned to mist and dissapeared. He still had not answered Gabriels question, who was this vampire who had come and gone. Gabriel lowered down into a crouch, and put his hand in the pool, sniffing his hand afterwards. | |

| It was as suddenly that the man reappeared, this vampire. He was grasping once again the silver crucifix as though it were life itself. He sat on the bed which was separated from the girl's by the inhuman who wore the black long-coat. He now was rattled, obviously in both body and mind. His whole frame shook with violent convulsions, causing even the bed beneath him to shiver. And yet, that iron grip encased the holy object made of silver so tightly that blood began to seep down the edges of the cross. His teeth chattered audibly as he trembled.
The sheets beneath began to take on a red hue, crimson one might say. And now the floor beneath his feet, which dangled over the bed's side, began to form yet another of the little red pools, slowly growing under the influence of large red drops that precipitated at the tips of his shoes, which hung down, before falling earthward. His hair and even his garments seemed darker for it, as though all the water that had clung to them only moments before was now blood.
It was now his left arm that wrapped its way around him. It seemed for a moment that he offered up prayers to heaven, though whether it was that which emanated from his mouth or curses could not be told for the tone in which he spoke was so low that even a vampire's acute hearing would be hard pressed to understand even a fragment of it. In a sudden spasm, he bent over and that long, perhaps slightly wavy hair hung down. It was then that from it the rain like little droplets of blood fell down to the floor. A pitiful groan racked his thin frame.
Regaining control of himself enough to speak, if not to change his condition or hide it from the spectators, the vampire emitted these words, "And now I have restored her to you, but I implore you thus: Would you turn her then cause her to share your fate. Were you to let her die, then kill her now, but if neither is your intention, then let her go and send her away from you in peace, for if she remain with, you she will surely die." These words were spoken to the now darkly garbed individual that seemed so ready to protect the female.
Once again those deep, dark eyes turned upon the girl, looking for her own. How perfectly his emotions shown there even if for a moment. It was sorrow, boundless sorrow. Agony so deep that the sight of it was to wish for death's embrace as an escape, as a passage to even oblivion which would be better than to suffer even a moment of such incredible pain, but then he lowered those windows of the soul, those twin pools of darkness that held so much control over the mortal race. It was as if in that moment his spirit had cried out, though his mouth would not, for another so long ago...

| It was.. Heart wrenching in the least to see this mysterious man, no, vampire, like that. This being whom she didn't know, had helped her, had given her life; but most important, experienced now immense pains because of her. He had completely healed her, no trace of the wounds could be found. She could just jump of the bed and run away if she wanted. Never before had she felt this strong. And still, he hadn't even demanded any form of compensation. Ilena just didn't understand why an absolute stranger would cause himself excruciating hurt on behalf of someone he had never seen or known before. His threatening words resonated sharply through her mind. Why would he even care? Who is he? A load of questions annoyingly kept forming themselves. He made her curious like nothing before ever had.
The tingly feeling of his strong gaze crept up her spine, slightly turning her head she stared back in his sinister eyes. A flood of emotions passed in what was a flicker of a moment before they steeled again. She then bowed slightly closer to the vampire. "Why are you doing this?", she whispered disconcerted, "I don't know you, nor have I ever seen you before." Ilena now pulled her arms before her still bare chest. A slight flush indicated her embarassment at not noticing it earlier. "So", she went further, although now a hint of nervosity weaved through her unwavering voice, "why? Why would you weaken yourself like this for someone like me?".

| Darker than night those eyes looked up at her, and one could fathom that stars even twinkled up from the abyssal depths. Somehow, in that face distorted by pain, nay, even agony, they radiated peace and tranquility. Even in that body so destroyed as it now was, even dieing perhaps, they showed no fear. Ageless, wise, and intelligent were the eyes that looked back at the girl, and yet... There was more, there was a shadow of something that had been long ago... Something like... Love.
"What is a moment that it should give me pain. I endure nothing, for though I die, I shall rise again. Not so with you," grave was that voice, and yet controlled like as was not seemingly possible in the man's current state, "I have taken once from you your mortality for his sake." The eyes turned for a moment to look at the other inhuman creature. "And for a memory... You have given me back a terrible remembrance, at once both sweet and bitter as nothing but love can be. Please take what I have given you and use it well. I will ask you for your sake and for this other's that you flee from us. With our kind, Death is ever present. He is our friend and our enemy at once, but he never leaves our side. If you should travel further with this one, you will meet this friend, and to you he shall open the gates of the netherworld instead of turning you away as he would us."
This being said, the man, the vampire seemed thoroughly exhausted. Slowly, shakily, he lifted himself up onto the bed so that he was laid out like a corpse ready for the funeral. In that traditional fashion, he gently moved his arms over his chest as the coroner would do to a dead body. The cross was still clutched in the right hand with a grip similar to that of rigor mortis. His skin was already as pale as death where it wasn't stained crimson with blood. His frame still shook, but each convulsion became weaker as they went onward. The dark hair encircled the head like a halo blackened as though with rust and time. And those eyes that were so beautiful closed gently as if in sleep.
Still, death had not yet claimed him. "Or," the dark force of his voice was quiet but no less potent, "If you wish to see a vampire in his glory, then travel with this one, or wait until that fiery disk you call the sun falls below the horizon. Thence awaken the Children of the Night into power given them by the Almighty in accordance with the curse born and the blessing conferred. I give you my blessing girl, live!" Having spoken thus, he let the arm holding the cross drop from his chest. With a metallic clank the silver crucifix hit the floor. The was a sigh which seemed almost rent from the breast of the dieing creature and in that last moment he was neither human nor vampire, but himself, scientist, poet, philosopher, lover, angel of vengeance, spirit of malevolence, man, and beast. The sigh seemed to be composed of a word which he allowed to escape from between his lips with his last breath, a name. Such tenderness and love was put into that one word that the ferocity of the scene which was all awash in blood was simply too fantastic to have been believed.
The man whose name they did not even know, was dead.

| She couldn't possibly describe what went through her while he, with a discipline and control she had never witnessed before and surely would never see in a person again, started talking to her. The intensity with which he spoke and so openly displayed his emotions was astonishing. You would expect an ancient being like him, centuries of wisdom and age showing through his carefully put actions and dark eyes, to be dulled down to a numb existence of being void of all emotions as the ages pass. Yet, fire and something else shone through the eyes of his heavily damaged body as he continued. Especially the 'memory part' made her gaze at him in wonder. The pain, even though he hid it very well, could not go undetected as he spoke of since long faded happenings. Ilena found herself speechless, again, by this man. It seemed as if all those uncountable times of talking too much had finally caught up.
When he had stopped and prepared himself he seemed a complete different person. Not that she knew him in the first place, but, he suddenly appeared so.. Peaceful. Almost content. Ilena had to admit his offer was very enticing. Still, she currently was hunting vampires with Gabriel. Even though she herself hadn't really murdered a vampire yet, she did defeat a wolf. And almost lost her life in the process. Ilena tried not to think of the fact that the unfortunate wolf probably was a lot more weaker than those vampires. Her eyes traveled to the stranger's silent form again. And then, more sudden than she ever expected, a last breath was breathed out. The view hit her harder than she thought it would, though she didn't really know him. He owned her life. And albeit she felt oddly saddened by this, nothing showed. Ilena silently slid off her bed and walked carefully over to the corpse. She just wordlessly watched his terribly damaged body, not really knowing what to do now. Death.. She pondered. It's a strange thing.

| "He'll rise again, like a pheonix from the ashes, once the sun goes down." Gabriel said, as he lowered crouched down by the corpse. A grin appeared across his face as he walked out of the room, he returned with with clean clothes, and tossed them to Ilena, pointing to a door, "Go and get changed in there..." He ordered, with an authority most would consider Military. Gabriel sat on the floor next to the corpse of the vampire, although undying, as he would soon be back. Gabriel smiled once again, standing up and fetching a few blood packs. He sat them down next to the vampire. Gabriel revealed a book he had hidden in his sleeve. 'The Count of Monte Cristo' he then began to read it, silently, waiting to the sun to drop and the moon to return to them once again. | |

| Ilena was more than ever sure that the spell hadn't worked and she had died a sudden death on that bed. She suspected her eternal torture contained extreme embarrassment because she, more than a few times, had 'slightly' humiliated some people. She quickly caught the clothes and held them in a frantic movement before her very naked chest. Why hadn't she noticed? She seriously didn't know, but tried to calm herself with the semi-comforting thought that she had used her arms to cover 'them' mostly. Yes, that helped. The tiniest of bits. Ilena then gazed back at Gabriel, who was currently reading a book that he apparantly had magically hidden in his sleeve, and the stranger-without-a-name-who-will-get-back-alive-really-soon when a very apparant deep scarlet colour washed over her face as a humiliating realization finally trickled its way down to her mind. Of course she hadn't joined the dead-ones club yet.. The man's words rang through her ears again. No.. Those couldn't possibly be fake. She swiftly turned around and half stormed towards the door. If anything, she'd swear her face had gotten even redder, if that was possible at all, as she felt the heat spread some more across the normally rather pale skin. She took a deep breath, much alike, yet still so different from the vampire's one, in another fruitless attempt at making the colour leave and stopping her heart from beating as if she was fighting that beast again. Ilena sat down on the cold floor in the small room once the clothes were securely around her frame. It was all overwhelming to say the least.. All the vampire hunting stuff. Not to mention the unkown newcomer. She hadn't thanked him, though she guessed she could do that when he was alive again. It sounded very strange, even in her own mind. She closed her eyes, trying to regain some energy. Altough the strange 'magic', she didn't know what it was in the first place, had completely healed and strengthened her, it hadn't restored her tiredness for some reason. | |

| "I know you must fight. But it must not be a fight of hate. That poor soul whose brought about all this misery is the saddest one of all." Gabriel read aloud, it was one of his favourite quotes from the book. Gabriel put the book away, and shook his head. "Abraham Van Hellsing, i wish to meet a Hellsing at some point..." Gabriel muttered to himself, as he opened one of the titanium sheets covering a window, to look outside. The sun was beginning to set now. Gabriel smiled, looking back towards the corpse who had helped them in return for sanctuary. | |
