Back in Aspheri - Open - (Gabriel)

"It s similar to thus," Vrael started to say. "Shaeman is a pegusi morph, meaning that he is able to communicate with the creatures that refuse to speak, although it does mean that he must be in the correct form to do so. Shadow was previously captain of a pegusi unit in her mother's dimension. What Raven means to say is that will Shadow be participating in the fight, or will she be the one to sit out."
"I will be fighting, Vrael," Shadow growled in a low voice.

Be'lakor nodded, looking at the siblings, he was struggling to hide his smile at their bickering. "The enemy shall arrive here shortly, we better get the soldiers to their correct positions." Be'lakor announced, opening a portal in the middle of the room. 24 hulking soldiers in armour that covered their entire bodies walked out of the portal, each wielding two weapons, mostly axes and hammers. 2 soldiers walked out after the 24 had entered. They had 4 horns on their heads, two larger then the other, and both were armed with a sword in one hand, and a chainaxe in the other. The soldiers divided into horde's of 12, and one of the larger soldiers took command of each unit. "Everchosen, take your warriors to their battlements." Be'lakor called at the commanders, who beckoned their warriors to follow.

Raven and her brothers vanished briefl before reappearing again, armed to the teeth and wielding their weapons of choice. Raven with her swords, Vrael with his bow, Shaeman with his throwing knives and stars. Shadow got to her feet, also disappearing briefly, reappearing wearing light weight armour and wielding two short swords. Her long hair had been tied in a high ponytail to keep it out of the way. She smiled grimly behind her mask, not relishing the thought of a battle as the ruler of a warrior dimension is supposed to.
"Now, I suppose we march to war." She said.

Be'lakor smiled, as the same portal that had summoned the warriors sent out various tribal men. "You will follow me, my marauders." They chatted amongst themselves for a few moments, before bowing before their Daemon Prince, he who had been gifted so greatly by the gods. They stood, showing their 'gifts'. Many of them mutated their arms into weapons, claws, swords, clubs, maces. But one sprouted tentacles from his back and one from his mouth.

The three demons could have been described as gobsmacked as they watched the other demons coming through the portal. They had never met any other kinds of demon apart from theirselves, and to see the masses coming through was another thing entirely. Fortunately for them, their faces didn't betray their emotions. Shadow silently slipped out of the room as the others' attention was diverted, running silently down the corridor. Even her wolf guards hadn't followed her.

Be'lakor watched Shadow leave the room, he didn't know why she would leave, and he had no idea why her wolf friends had not followed her. He stood there and looked at the door, before telling his marauders to form around him to create a protective circle. Be'lakor looked at the 3 demons, a puzzled look on his face. "What?"

The three demons just shook their heads, checking over their weapons before leaving to place themselves in position. Raven heading a unit of swordsmen, Vrael with the archers and Shaeman standing on his own.

Shadow hurried down the corridor, passing units of her own soldiers who seemed to be looking forwards to the battle. The demoness couldn't think why. She had been exposed to war from a very early age, and she had never enjoyed it. She ran to the stables, looking for her mount, the black pegasus named Merlas, finding her ready to fly. Shadow vaulted up onto the mare's back before jamming her helm onto her head and urging the pegasus into the air, followed by the rest of the unit.

Be'lakor lead his marauders to the front gates, where he caught eye of the Prince of Merthras, flying above his army. Be'lakor's unit was based on the ground, even though he could fly, his marauders could not. Be'lakor pointed at the opposing army, they had swordsmen, pike's, flying infantry and even large reptile creatures ridden as mounts on the ground. Be'lakor grinned, as the furies he had summoned earlier swarmed out of the castle and started to fly towards the Army of Merthras.

Shadow yelled out a battle cry in demonic, signalling for the unit to charge. She ignored the pain in her side, determined to defeat this prince once and for all. Arrows rained down over the opposing army as Vrael yelled for the archers to let loose. The swordsmen charged, Raven leading them.
The armies clashed. The flying infantry of Merthras charged at the pegusi, crashing into them. Shadow wound one hand into Merlas' mane to stay on, hacking at one of the enemy with her sword.

The furies swiveled around the flying infantry of the other army, swooping down and grabing ground based soldiers and flying them high up, before dropping them to their deaths. The furies let out a horrid shriek as they clashed with the opposing flying infantry. The enemy were armed with swords and axes, the furies were armed with teeth and claws, and were ripping the opposition apart. The marauders met with the ground based forces, concussing them and dicing them to pieces. Be'lakor was wielding an axe and a hammer he had taken from one of the marauders, and was doing the same.

One of the flying infantary collided with Merlas, driving the pegasus and princess down to the ground. For a moment, the demoness was dazed, but a sword hearding her way quickly made her snap out of it. She found herself in the midst of a the battle, one sword lost. She unsheathed her second, fighting as well as she could. Her side burned with pain, but she gritted her teeth, trying to ignore it.

Be'lakor saw Shadow go down, and felt he needed to do something. He had vowed to protect her. His eyes flickered blue, as he started to butcher Merthians on his way to help Shadow. The marauders, seeing Be'lakor's example, went berserk, cutting down the Merthians with an intense amount of feriocity. Be'lakor leapt over the soldiers, landing next to Shadow. He unsheathed his Daemon Blade, and it sung through the soldiers, the death coming to it naturally.

Shadow breathed a sigh of relief as she saw Be'lakor hacking his way through the enemy. She was breathing heavily, ignoring the many wounds she had gained, her eyes narrowed in concentration against the pain. She cleanly severed one Methrasian's neck, not bothering to watch him fall as she moved on to another enemy.

Be'lakor let out a war cry to mimic Shadows previous one, as the Marauders formated a protective circle around Shadow. Be'lakor cut down more and more Merthians in his rage, and soon there was a wide area around the circle of marauders where there were naught but bloody corpses on the ground. Be'lakor took to the skies, his wings breaking out as he jumped. He sped straight for the Prince.

The prince of Merthras spotted Be'lakor and quickly tried to get out of the way. A few feathers were missing from the wing that Be'lakor had stabbed, but the wound had obviously been healed over.

As soon as Shadow found herself in a protected circle, she allowed herself to fall to one knee, breathing heavily, her sword stuck in the ground. She had realised that the Methrasians had found some sort of spells that had allowed their weapons to pass cleanly through her armour.

Be'lakor swirved mid air, and was now looking at the prince. "Alright dear, ready to dance?" Be'lakor asked sarcastically, brandishing his Daemon Blade. He had a smirk on his face, his wings flapping in the air, sending a gust of wind down to the soldiers below.

The prince narrowed his eyes.
"My quarrel is no longer with you, but with the princess." He growled. He had no intention of trying to fight the Daemon Prince again, especially in front of his men.

Be'lakor shook his head, laughing to himself. "Coward, thats what you are. You are scared of looking bad in front of your men, but they are all going to die anyway." Be'lakor exclaimed, loud enough that the soldiers on the ground would hear, as to lower their morale.

The prince narrowed his eyes.
"I seek quarrel with the ruler of this dimension, and you are not she. Therefore, I will not fight you." He said, holding himself proudly. His army seemed to freeze for a brief moment when they heard Be'lakor speak, but they soon engaged in the fight with more frenzied actions. If they were going to die, then they were taking as many of the enemy with them as possible.

Be'lakor laughed at the prince's high horse. "You are like a small child, too scared to fight the little gaurd of the princess. Tell me, are you scared of rabbits?" Be'lakor taunted, still loud enough for the soldiers to hear. The Marauders were butchering any one who dared to try and get to the princess, they had a wide perimetre around them where no enemies were treading.

The prince looked confused. He had never heard of rabbits. They didn't exist in his dimension. A blood curdling roar erupted from the battlefield. Shadow had let got of her fury, and morphed into her true demonic form. Four red eyes shone from the horse-sized, black wolf's face, flames running down its back and sprouting from its paws.
The wolf jumped out of the protective circle, starting to tear the enemy limb from limb.

Be'lakor laughed as Shadow transformed. It reminded him of his own transformations, that he had not yet shared with Aspheri. Be'lakor spun his Daemon Blade before he shot forward to the prince, and slashed once, before kicking out.

The prince folded his wings, allowing himself to drop a couple of metres before flying up behind the Daemon Prince.
"As I have previously stated, my quarrel is not with you!" He snarled, not listening to anything that was happening one the battlefield, not wanting to hear the roar of triumph from the Aspherin side.

Be'lakor shook his head again, "I have a quarrel with you." Be'lakor stated matter of factly. His wings still keeping him in the air. The marauders had gone back into a berserk fury, cutting down Merthians. "It was a big mistake to wage war on us, Child. Your about to reap the whirlwind." Be'lakor laughed again, not allowing the prince past him.

The Prince of Merthras glowered at Be'lakor before intoning a spell in an unknown language and disappearing. A single feather started to float to the ground.
From the ground, Raven yelled out in triumph. They had as good as won the battle.
