Together (Alba and Shadow)

"Nothing you need to worry about." Vrael said as firmly as he could manage.

"Vreal," said Alba, kneeling so that her eyes were level with his, "You have been hurt, you could have died! I want to know who we're up against. I don't want to loose you."

Vrael gritted his teeth.
"Do not worry on my behalf. Let us leave this day behind us."

A faint smile twisted the corners of Alba's lips. She stood, and went to stand by the big window. The sky was dark, and she could see flashes of light in the darkness.

"The finishing of the stragglers." Vrael said.

"What?"
Alba turned from the window, watching Vrael intently for any signes that he might be in pain.

"The reinforcements are taking care of any of the enemy that may remain." Vrael said, his face carefully emotionless.

Alba fell silent and turned to look out of the window again, pensive.

"Are you ok?" Vrael asked.

"Im fine," replied Alba, "just, I'v never been in a war before. You seem so acustomed to it. It's just... strange..."

"I am accustomed to it, yes." Vrael said.

"How's the wound?" asked Alba, walking over to the Vampire.
