The Good Old Black Lake...8 years later

Holly gasped and made to run and help.

"Sorry..." Natalie muttered.

She looked at Holly under the cloak.

"The reason she's not talking to you is because you have been here before...she thinks you know what pain she's in..." said Natalie quickly and quietly.

Natalie ran with Holly to keep under the cloak.

"She's ok...she won't feel anything right now..." said Natalie.

"What?" Holly asked, stopped suddenly, "Ive felt what before?"

"I said that SHADOW can't feel anything..." said Natalie.

Shadow trembled in fear, looking up into the cold eyes of Meran.
"So," He whispered in her ear. "You failed to learn from our lesson."

"I KNOW WHAT YOU SAID!" Holly whispered, and ducked from the cover of the cloak to jump on top of Meran. How annoying.

Natalie looked up.

"Shi...tacki mushrooms...MERAN!" Natalie yelled.

Meran looked up at the pair and scowled, turning back to Shadow. Shaking her violently, he yelled:
"I told you to come alone!"

Holly wondered why her JUMPING ON MERAN'S BACK had not had a bigger effect. Oh well.

Natalie looked at Meran with the utter most hatred.

"Where you find Shadow...you will find us too..." said Natalie firmly.

Clamping something metallic around Shadow's wrist, he threw her against a tree. She fell to the ground, unconscious, a gash in her head bleeding freely.

Meran stood opposite the pair, summoning his magic.

HOLLY WAS STILL ON MERAN'S BACK. BUT DONT MIND THAT.

Holly stared from Meran to Shadow, and then back again. Ignoring the urge to smash his head against a concrete block, she ran to Shadow.

Meran grabbed Holly and threw her down next to Natalie.

"Ow," Holly muttered, and made her way towards Shadow.

Natalie took hold on Merans ankles...bit down hard on a vein...and began to suck....

A shield erupted from the ground between Holly and Shadow, leaving the two girls on one side, and Meran with Shadow.

"Be.ATCH!" Holly yelled, kicking the shield in rage.

Natalie kept sucking to blood from Meran.

Holly. .... sighed. Or something.

Meran sighed, kicking Natalie away, a gap appearing in the shield long enough for her to fall through. The wound healed over quickly

Natalie screamed and fought to get through.

"LEAVE HER ALONE!" she yelled.

"UHH- WE WILL PENETRATE IT SOMEHOW!" Holly yelled to inform Meran, unsure if he could hear her.

Natalie tried to bite it...but bit her own mouth and screamed.

The shield had a slight transparence, so it seemed as if watching the world through dark blue tinted glassed.
"Perhaps you should leave your friend alone." Meran said silkily.

"You answered that for yourself. Friend." Holly said, "We are not leaving."
