The Good Old Black Lake...8 years later

Holly 'ahem'ed in Slughorn's direction.

"Ah yes...Bristol isn't it..." said Slughorn, grinning, "quite a nack for prank potions and the sort..."

Natalie went after Shadowm took her hand and dragged her back.

"Hi," Holly said and looked around at the class, "Miss me now Ive left Sluggy?"

Shadow pulled against Natalie's grip, but it didn't have much of an effect.

Natalie frowned slightly.

"Yes....rather..." said Slughorn.

He looked from Shadow....to Natalie...and back again.

"Surely...this isn't...your daughter Miss Patterson..." said Slughorn.

"No...um...she's...more of a...niece...per say...." lied Natalie.

"I thought she was- Oh...." Hollly said and looked at the class, "Shall I distract them Nat?"

((just to be difficult...))

Shadow pulled her hand out of Natalie's, scowling the same way her older self did as she looked at what she saw as a very rude, annoying blob of human.
"She's not my mother and who are you?!" She demanded in a very annoyed Shadow way.

"No distraction then?" Holly asked, jumping down from the desk she was about to fly off.
"Hi." she said quietly when she reached Slughorn and Shadow. They'd make a good couple eh?

"Professor Slughorn..." said Slughorn...backing away in a scared way.

Shadow glared at Natalie again before suddenly making a dash for the door again.

"That was unexpected," Holly commented.

Natalie ran after Shadow.

"SHADOW ROTH! COME BACK HERE! NOW!" she yelled.

Shadow managed to reach the door before Natalie caught up with her.

Natalie ran after Shadow outside.

She cast another tripping spell at Shadow.

Shadow tripped, twisting as she fell to land heavily on her shoulder, and her collarbone snapping with a rather sickening sound as it crumpled agianst the stone floor.

Holly winced, snapping her eyes shut.
"She okay?" she called to Natalie.

"SH*T!" Natalie said, running up and repairing the bone with her wand quickly.

She gave Shadow a potion from her pocket to ease the pain.

"Ow..." Shadow mumbled, holding her shoulder protectivly.

Holly approached, and peered at Shadow, cringing.

Shadow got to her feet, now looking at the pair with a newfound fear in her eyes.

"What?" Holly asked, alarmed.

"Please...don't be afraid...I didn't mean to....I should have known...I'm sorry Shadow...please don't run..." Natalie pleaded, tears spilling down her face.

Sensing something, Shadow ran down to corridor to hide behind Raven, who had just appeared round the corner.

"Toldja she'd come back." Holly told Natalie.

Natalie lay on the ground, sobbing and rocking back and forth.

"I knew it...I was right...I told Gareth we were right not to have kids...even after we were married..." she sobbed, "whats wrong with me...I dreamed of being a mother....and then I thought it would be too hard...and it's all true..."
