Coping. (Post Prophecy)

"If I'm ever going to get my magic back up to speed, I need to push my limits back." Shadow said quietly. "That's how I learned when I was back on Synairn, by moving boulders across the field."

"Hm," Bart answered simply. He looked at his watch.
14:00 AM.
He looked up at Shadow. He sighed slightly. "What now?"

Shadow sighed.
"I don't know. I suppose I'd better go to the Guild and present myself again." She murmured.

"Do you want me to come with you, if that isn't bad?" Bart asked, looking up to Shadow, expecting an answer. His necklace glinted in the few rays of light coming from the lamp above that he had turned on.

"It shouldn't be. All assassins are allowed to tell one person, and one person only what they do for a living. You already know, and I will tell them as such. You won't be at risk." Shadow said. She walked through to her room, taking in the familiar bookshelves, with a large basket in one corner, like the ones bought for dogs. There was another, smaller, basket beside it, with a few black wolf hairs in it.
Shadow picked out her old uniform from one of the shelves, taking in the close-fitting black top, trousers and hooded jumper as well as a cross harness and holster.

Come to think of it, I'll need some new clothing if I'm going to live with Shadow here.
Bart looked around. He played with his fingers, clutching them tight and spreading them out succesively. He then noticed that Shadow was going to change, most probably. He looked sideways, eyes mid-closed, then turned around, and left the room.

Shadow silently closed the door, and quickly changed. She pulled her hair into a high ponytail, planning what she was going to say in her mind. She opened the door again, stepping out.
"Let's go."

"All right," Bart agreed, turning around, and heading for the exit door. He took one glance backwards, to see if they missed shutting off one light, but, they didn't. Bart smiled, and opened the door, waiting for Shadow to come.

Shadow walked out of the door.
"We're going to have to go across the roofs." She said quietly, starting to head up the stairs, moving silently.

Bart nodded. He climbed the stairs until the roof. As he went out, he was slightly blinded by the sunlight. There were no clouds in the sky. He smiled, then began to transform back into a Kraferr. He tightened the silver bracelets onto his arms, and tuck the necklaces into his pocket. The fur started showing. It then rushed out of his skin. Bart clenched his fist, still not quite used to the full of the pain. A tail appeared, slithering from his shorts. His eyes went from dirty blue to blood red. His nails transformed into claws. At the end of this transformation, he stood up and looked at Shadow, red meeting purple eyes.
"I'm ready," he said, simply.

Shadow's tail was curled around her left leg, the tip of it twitching slightly. She nodded once before taking a run, leaping over the gap between that building and the next one.
"What a sense of déjà vu..." She said, turning back to face Bart with a half smile.

"Yes," Bart answered, jumping from the previous building, and landing on the other one without a sound, "As you may remember, we already did this, but with another person..." Bart looked up at Shadow, smiling back, eyes glistening in the few shadows his hair made over his eyes.

"Hm, I remember it." Shadow said, starting to run to take the next jump. She succeeded the jumps until she reached the point where the city met open fields.

Bart continued jumping from rooftop to rooftop, his baggy shorts flapping in the wind as he whizzed past it. Now that Shadow's going to live a more 'human' life than before... Hm. It's going to be pretty hard at the beginning, but everyone gets used to it sooner or later.

Shadow made no sound as she moved, jumping down into a field. One of the two horses looked up lazily, but the other animals (a couple of cows, sheep and goats), ignored her.

Bart landed onto the feild, next to Shadow, crouching to make the least noise possible. He looked forwards, one hand behind his back, one hand up front against the ground, his tail flicking at the air gently. He looked up at Shadow.
"So..."

Shadow gave another half smile, walking over into the corner of the field. She pulled back the branches of a briar plant, exposing a trapdoor hidden in the grass. She pulled it open, gesturing for Bart to go through.

Bart looked down the trap hole. His eyes glistened as he did so. He looked back at Shadow, and nodded slightly. He jumped into the trap door, landing on the ground with only a slight thud. The sun that was coming down barely went to where Bart was. There was barely any light. He looked around, and looked up at Shadow, backpacing a few times to let her through.

Shadow grabbed onto the edge as she jumped, pulling herself back up enough to pull the cover back over the trapdoor and closing it. She nodded once to Bart, summoning a small orb of magic to give enough light to see by.
"Ok, do what I do, don't shake hands with anyone, and don't speak unless you have to." She warned Bart. "The rules are strict down here, along with the code of honnour"

"I'm fine with that," Bart answered, looking at Shadow, "I've got my own moral code,"
His tail flicked slightly in the darkness. He hoped it wasn't a bad thing, seeing a Kraferr in 'The Guild'. He hoped people didn't really know what he was. Actually, no, he hoped that they did know.
But on the other hand...
Many suppositions and theories came into Bart's mind. He was hoping for lots of things.

Shadow strode through the dark tunnel, the little orb of magic bobbing along behind her. When the tunnels split off, she navigated expertly, remembering every little detail of the tunnels. Occasionally, someone dressed in the same uniform as her would cross their path, giving Shadow a wide berth while looking confused a the sight of Bart.

Bart looked back at the few people that passed the two, but he could not recognize them. Whch was, of course, normal, as he had never met them.
Probably.
Bart looked back forwards, following Shadow, fastening his pace to keep up with her. His tail flicked gently in the dark and humid air, whilst his red eyes glistened.

One man that crossed them looked terrified. Scars covered the socket around one eye, which seemed to have been caused by claws. He walked on quickly, trying not to look at the pair. Shadow gave a half smile. At one point, just before an archway into a circular cavern.
"Ok, here, we go in, and we bow to one knee. Look at the ground unless the Lord tells you to stand. Just do what I do."

"Right," Bart answered, looking at Shadow. He lowered his head to look at the ground. I wonder what happens if you break that rule.
No.
I wouldn't dare to try.
Bart then looked forwards again, his tail flicking furiously at the air. His eyes glistened. He waited for Shadow to continue inside.

Shadow took a deep breath and walked into the room. In the centre, she knelt down on one knee, one hand fisted over her heart, in front of a fierce looking man with dark red hair. He glared at her, but said nothing.
