What just happened? -Open-

Shadow knelt next to Dominique. She had taken a decision. She looked the Kraferrin in the eye with a serious look.
"Dominique, I'm going to need you to help me. I'm going to attempt something really dangerous. I need you to focus on Bart's mind, and try to transfer that link to me. If I can bottle up enough of his anger, I'll transform into my true shape. There will be a collar around my neck, grab it. If I can prod my demon side in the right direction, I should be able to teleport to them. Then I can help."

Ilrune ducked out of the way again, his dark blue eyes narrowed. Tiny crystals were left in his wake as he tried to drive his staff into Bart's side, the demon having taken complete control.

Dominique stared back at Shadow, lowering her eyes to the ground. She didn't have the time to choose a correct decision within her mind. She grasped the first which passed and took it. She lifted her eyes determinedly back at the demoness, before lifting her hand against Shadow's temple. "Asfer," she murmured. A white glow appeared on Shadow's temple, at the extremity of Dominique's fingers. Dominique closed her eyes, concentrating on Bart's link she had. It only made the blade push further, but Dominique clenched her teeth and forced herself.

Bart cackled loudly, scowling at Ilrune with wide blood-red eyes. He sneered as he quickly dodged Ilrune's attack and pounced away, white fangs glinting.

Shadow tried to focus all of her mind on Bart's anger, letting it seep into her and take over. She focused this anger on Bart as she felt herself transforming. Fur grew, joints smoothly remoulded themselves as the demoness turned into her flaming, horse-sized wolf form. A heavy leather collar had been fitted around her neck, its normal use being to restrain the creature.

Ilrune, took up a defensive position, waiting for Bart's next move. His eyes were narrowed, watching, trying to anticipate the attack.

Bart's eyes widened and clenched his hands against his head, making spikes out of his hair. He screamed aloud, falling to the ground and rolled over. He shouted out of what seemed like pain, his whole body tensing. Black sparks flew from his form, diving into the ground and forming holes or spikes of darkness. "No!" he shouted again, turning over onto his knees, and slamming his fist against the ground. He lifted his eyes, one clenched hand still against his head as he scowled at Ilrune. "You're not going to get me this time... Shadow!"

Dominique's eyes widened at Shadow's transformation, but she did not waste time. As quickly as she could, she grabbed the collar situated at the animal's neck, pulling on it as strong as she could. Being a kraferr, even a female, did have its own effect. Enhanced strength made her manage to keep herself stabilized on her feet as she growled at the animal.

The creature already had a lock on the target of its hatred. It vanished, towing the Kraferrin with it.

Wolf and Kraferr landed on the rock in the dead place. The creature growled, smelling its target. Ilrune had faltered at the sound of Shadow's name, but seeing the creature before him cause his eyes to flicker. However, the demon remained in control. The creature started to advance slowly towards Bart, hackles raised, teeth bared, leaving a trail of fire in its pawprints.

Bart lifted a second hand to his head, grabbing his hair and pulling it. He lifted the side of his face slowly, staggeringly, to glare at the approaching animal. His red eyes glinted in fierce rage. "Curse you..." he growled, "Shadow!" Bart turned around on himself, setting foot and roared at the creature, slamming his hands on the ground. "You won't get him! Gah!"
Dominique shook her head as she appeared and tried to recognize the area. Here, she felt the full sensation of Bart's transformation. It had weakened since then thanks to Shadow, but it still remained unbearable. She fell to the ground, clutching her hands against her chest. "Shadow!" she shouted, "If he stays... Like this... The blade'll break!"

Shadow didn't hear Dominique. In her true form, she was oblivious to anything except her fury. And that fury was directed against Bart. Her slow, stalking pace continued towards the demonic Kraferr, but stopped. The muscles rippled under the black fur as she leapt, lunging at Bart. Ilrune was struggling, caught in a battle between his sides. He fell to one knee, his hands clutching his head as his eyes flickered between demonic and normal.

Dominique struggled to get herself up. She hadn't gone here just to see the person she was with fighting another. Holding her head and her heart, she shakily got up to her feet, and traipsed forwards to Shadow. Bart stood up and pulled a hand behind his head, ready to strike Shadow. Dominique flicked out one finger and spoke loudly, "Atheph!"
On Bart's arm appeared a white rip, and he cursed out loud, holding it with his other hand. It shone brightly, and he lifted his head to glare at Dominique. "Dominique!" he growled, "How dare you do that to me?!"
"You aren't him, you freak," she murmured back, before turning to Shadow. She lifted one hand then stalled, her heart pounding too hard. She didn't have the time to stop Shadow in her tracks before she leaped at Bart and threw him over onto his back. She lifted her hand, shaking violently. "Ath... Ath..." she stuttered.

Shadow growled, her long, razor-like claws digging into Bart's shoulders where she had struck. She bared her teeth, moving in for the kill. A crystal staff embedded itself in her shoulder. The creature howled, automatically shifting her weight off her injured shoulder, loosening her grip on Bart.

Bart snarled back at the animal, sitting up and lifting one hand to one of his bleeding shoulders. His demonic eyes glared ferociously back at the full-demon, his tail shriveling in the delicate thought of fresh kill. Dominique, noticing this action, pointed to his other arm and shouted, "Atheph!"
Another white scar embedded itself into his second arm. He yelled, letting it drop limp. He glared at Dominique, opening his fanged mouth. "Dom-"
"Shut up!" she yelled back, scowling at him. Dominique glanced at Ilrune, before lifting her fingers back at Shadow. "Atheph!"

The wolf howled as the spell hit her, creating a white mark along her side. She turned her head to Dominique, baring her teeth warningly before turning her red gaze back to her target. Crystals gathered around her muzzle, quickly forming a band clamping her jaws together. The wolf scratched at it with her paws, trying to rid itself of the contraption. Ilrune ran silently to Dominique's side, his human side in control.

Bart got up to his feet, his demonic side still having a fair grip on his consciousness. "Dominique..." he gnarled, "Yo-
Dominique whipped her arm to her side, snapping her fingers. "Shut up! Avirai!" Bart's eyes widened as his ankles, wrists and shoulders started to change color. They all went gray, and shiny. He fell to the ground, his wrists heavy clanking against the ground. Dominique panted angrily, before turning to Shadow, lifting two fingers at her and putting her hand under her elbow. "Shall I completely immobilize her, Ilrune? Only periodically, I mean..." she murmured.

Shadow was still wrestling with the crystal around her jaws, but deep cracks were starting to appear. Deep grooves from her claws weakening it. Ilrune hesitated. The air around his oustretched hand was heavy with crystal, but he didn't know what to do. He glanced at Dominique, and nodded. It seemed to be a big decision for him, although he knew it was only temporary.

Dominique turned back to Shadow, gulping once and frowning. "Adreem!" she yelled. A whit bolt shot out of her fingers, coiling around Shadow's paws and muzzle. Thick white ropes then wrapped themselves around her body, tightening dangerously. Dominique swallowed her fear down again, taking one deep breath and letting it out. That was one of the worst experiences in her life.

Shadow howled again as she fell onto her side, her paws tied together. Ilrune walked over to the fallen creature, softly stroking her cheek. The demon tried to bite Ilrune's hand, but the crystal still held. Ilrue got to his feet, heading for Bart. He pulled a vial from his belt, the same vial that Shadow had taken a sip from earlier.

Bart snarled at Ilrune. "Don't get near me!" he growled. Dominique pointed two fingers at Bart, ready to do what she had done before. He flinched and cackled lowly. "Heheheh... You think you've won, maggots... But the nightmare has only begun..." Bart threw his head over, laughing loudly. His shrieking laugh filled the whole area, piercing into Dominique's heart. She faltered and took a step back, pressing her hands to her ears. "Make him stop!" she shouted hurriedly.

Ilrune grabbed a handful of Bart's hair, pulling his head back. He glanced at Dominique before pouring some of the liquid into Bart's mouth, praying that he would swallow and it would work. The potion, Salent, had been extensively used by the Senate of Synairn to calm down the demons under their care. It blocked all emotions in the being for a while, between minutes and an hour, allowing the human side to take control.

Bart gulped down the liquid, his eyes widening as he did so. His hair turned slightly lighter in color, and curled up again, as his claws shrunk back to normal size. His tail slowly slithered back into his spine, and his fur pushed itself back into his skin. His eyes merged together, forming a pair of blue-gray eyes. Bart coughed silently, his eyes faintly closing. He then went limp, not moving anymore. Dominique hurried over to him, and gently prayed Ilrune's hand off. She held him in her arms. "The degree of the magic I used on him would cause this effect. For a demon, it's almost nothing, but for a human body it can whack them upright." She turned to Ilrune, glancing at him. "You think you'll be okay with Shadow?"

Ilrune watched Bart's actions carefully, looking for any complications. As Dominique spoke, he looked up at her. He glanced over at the struggling wolf before nodding his head.
"I will handle her." He said quietly, standing up and walking over to the heap of flaming black fur. He gently lifted the wolf's head onto his lap as he sat down, and began to sing softly to her.

Dominique turned her head to Bart, pulling him to her and laying him down n her crossed legs. She put the back of her hand on his chest, verifying that the heartbeat was normal. She sighed, placing one hand on his forehead, and murmured a few more words. "Azeal." The gray marks disappeared from Bart's body, and the white scars shrank to nothingness, leaving his form unscathed of the battle. She tried to breathe steadily, but the sensation having disappeared from her chest relieved her greatly and she couldn't stop herself from taking deep swallows of air.

Ilrune gently cradled the wolf's head in his arms, singing to her. Slowly, she began to melt back into her humanoid form. The demoness' eyes were closed. She seemed to be asleep. Ilrune softly stroked her hair, singing his song quietly. He glanced quickly at Dominique, checking that she and Bart were ok before focusing his attention on his fiancée agian.

Dominique glanced at Shadow, relieved that she was okay as well. She murmured the same words to her as she did to Bart, making the ropes and shackles disappear from her body. Dominique glanced at the man, before turning at Bart once more. He wasn't sleeping, she knew that. Nobody would be asleep after something like that. He was in some sort of unconscious state, not worse than a coma but more important than just fainting. Dominique pulled his hair past his eyes and behind his ears, before checking his temperature.

Ilrune easily picked up Shadow's lithe form, one arm supporting his back, the other under her knees, holding her close to his chest. He walked over to Dominique and Bart, looking down at them.
"We should leave this place. It may help them to be in a familiar and friendly environment." He said quietly, his brow creased a little in worry.

Dominique glanced up at Ilrune, and nodded quickly. "Yes," she whispered back, placing her arms under Bart's body and picking him up. She looked around, before meeting Ilrune's eyes. "You need to teleport us out of here - now." she murmured alarmingly, "I don't want to know if other weird things happen in here." Dominique swallowed, gazing at the double shadows the boulders cast on the ground because of the two suns. She frowned at them, before shaking her head and sighing.

Ilrune gently repositioned Shadow before placing a hand on Dominique's shoulder. He closed his eyes, concentrating hard. The little group vanished.
It took Ilrune four attempts, but he eventually managed to get the four of them back to the Kraferrs' flat. Shadow remained unconscious in Ilrune's arms as he held her close.
