"About what?" Holly asked.

I'll deal with this Nat, don't worry... Shadow thought to her friend briefly before breaking out of her trance, expecting the man to have at least thought of something intelligent to say.

The man looked at her.

"Why are you curious as to why I took the mudblood...you're not jealous...are you?" he laughed.

Natalie shook her head.

"Fine, be that way," Holly muttered, sitting back.

Natalie just looked at Holly, to wery to give her a death look.

"The 'mudblood' ..." Shadow said the word as if it left a bitter taste in her mouth. "... Happens to be one of my greatest friends. I protect them no matter what, and though no matter what!"

"Hummm...this is very brave," said the man, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.

"Then you have never had a true friend." Shadow said, her fists clenching.

"Nope..." said the man.

Natalie fell asleep.

Shadow shook her head in pity.
"What a sad life."

"Not really..." said the man, "don't need um...I have my...ah...own hobbies to keep me busy..."

Holly watched her for a while, became bored, and slept herself.

Shadow sighed again, and for once in her life, let her guard down through tiredness, leaving herself open to attack.

Holly woke with a start, looking around confused.

Natalie woke up, and looked at Holly.

The man stared at Shadow.

"What do you expect me to do to you?" he asked her.

Shadow snapped back to attention.
"Nothing, unless you happen to have a death wish."

"What?" Holly asked Natalie, "Whats the look for?"

"I fell asleep...didn't I?" Natalie said...frowning.

The man shrugged.

"Far enough..." he said.

Shadow drew herself up to her full height, and narrowed her eyes.
"I came to avenge Natalie, and I will." She hissed, summoning her magic.

"Mmmm....sure...whatever..." said the man.

Now Shadow was truely confused.
"You don't actually care that I'm either gonna send you to another dimension or send you to meet my father, do you?"

"Not really...always got everything I wanted...so I'll try what some else wants...see does it make me happy," shrugged the man.

Shadow allowed her magic to fade, still confused. she appeared to zone out as she asked her mind what to d next.

Natalie began to sob again.

The man grinned.

"See...you can't do it...can you?" he laughed.

"I don't kill, not willingly. I am not a full demon." Shadow said softly.
