Memory Lane (Shadow and Holly)

"What happened to her? You? Your older- You know what I mean." Holly said impatiently to Hope. Or whoever would answer really.

"She went a bit funny in the head." Hope said quietly. "Apparently you come and visit soon."

"I'm kind like that." Holly commented, just as the door opened.

An older version of herself was standing in the door way, staring down at Shadow, mouth slightly open.
"Uh..."

Shadow jumped five feet in the air and tried to summon her magic to attack. A feeble spark appeared.
"Hol?" She asked quietly, her voice broken and cracked.

Holly nodded quickly, hands in the air unnecessarily, painted on Irish flag still on her cheek.
"Hi...." she said softly.

Shadow retreated back to her corner, watching her old friend carefully.

The sentence "Are you okay?" had slipped out before Holly could stop it.

Normal Holly cringed. "What a question."

A flash of the old 'isn't it obvious' look appeared on Shadow's face for a split second.

Holly looked down, unsure of what to say. Things sucked between them now.

Despair looked at Younger Shadow, who nodded, noting the point in her terrified, not-quite-all-there older self.

"Sometimes I worry about my future self." normal Holly said sadly, "And your older self. Both of us really."

"I know." All three Shadows said in unison.
"Let us walk away form this scene." Hope begged Shadow quietly. The demoness nodded without a word.

The scene changed again to a sunny field, with several winged horses grazing. A huge black mare landed, Shadow sitting neatly on her back.

"This looks much nicer." Holly commented, looking around, "This is life with me right? So I must come in at some point."

Shadow nodded.
"I wonder when..." She mused aloud as her older self slipped off Merlas' back.

"Probably randomly." Holly said nodding, just as an older version of herself apparated right in front of Older Shadow.
"HI!" her older self said, waving.

Shadow looked at Holly and smiled, patting the pagasus on the neck before letting the mare fly off.
"How was work?" She teased with a smile.

Holly scowled.
"Don't go there," she warned, but then grinned, "How was YOURS?!"

"Same old. Wizards complaining that they're being instructed by me. Found a way to deal with it though." Shadow replied.

"You would." Holly said, but couldn't help sounding admiring, "Didja buy me anything today?"

"Yeah, there's Quidditch Weekly waiting for you back at the flat." Shadow said as a rather red faced Ministry new army recruit finally got his pegasus to land next to them. Shadow turned to face him.
"Next time you try to challenge my authority, I'll put you on Merlas and then we shall see who's got the balls to do this, hm?"
The man nodded feverishly and walked away quickly.
"I take one of the harder Pegusi, give a quick demonstration, and then let the annoying pest try. It's quite funny to hear a man scream in terror as he does a backwards corkscrew."

"Oh you," Holly said grinning and shoving her lightly, "Want me to run after him and kick the hell outta him? He looks irksome. Just say the word, say it, just say the word kiddo, just saaaay it."

"Nah, I got Flame to take care of him." Shadow said, looking at the fiery coated pegasus the man had left behind. "Seriously, he won't be questionning me again. Took him three hours to get back down here." She added with a chuckle.
"Anyway, home and I guess I'm cooking again. Your cooking suck almost as bad as Raven's."

"Oh Flame." Holly happily, looking after him and then turned back to Shadow, "I would say so. Unless you fancy burnt beans on burnt toast with burnt water."
She grinned.

Shadow rolled her eyes jokingly.
"Seriously, how you could ever burn water is beyond me. Ok, Spag Carbo for dinner then."

After about three minutes, Holly understood this.
"Right, goddit, yes. Swell idea. Lezzgo Sugar'o!"
