Memory Lane (Shadow and Holly)

Shadow meditated on the peak of a high mountain. She had been having problems with her mind recently, and had isolated herself for the last month to keep the others safe from her outbursts of magic. The top of a mountain was almost ideal for isolation, so there she was.

Headphones in, mountain treking boots on, Holly made her way slowly up the mountain, doing a kind of jig.
She had made herself go all the way to the top, to prove she was no loner afraid of heights.
Holly stopped dead at the sight of another on the peak, and crept behind a tree to get a closer look.

Shadow sighed. She knew that eventually she would be tracked down and found.
"Holly!" She called out. "I know you're there!"

Holly sighed with relief at the sound of Shadows voice.
She came out of her coverage, smiling and biting her lip.
"Hello," she said, "Roth Roth Roth, fancy seeing you here....."

Shadow's face remained impassive and she didn't turn round to face her friend, nor move from her meditation position (cross legged and hovering about 4 foot in the air.).
"Why are you here?"

"Mountain treking," Holly explained, "I had to convince myself Im not scared of heights..."
She walked around Shadow slightly.
"And you?"

Shadow still looked flatly directly in front of her, not looking at Holly.
"Sorting some problems."

"Ah..."
Holly waited, unusually tactful.

Shadow tensed swearing quietly under her breath and grabbing her head in pain.
"Get out of here Holly!" She gasped in warning.

Holly panicked for a moment, debating on what to do.
THen she took out her wand and said awkwardly, "See ive learned not to leave you on your own when you tell me too... but if you could tell me what to DO that would be really helpful...."

Shadow gripped her head.
"Memories, images, flooding my head, leave me alone!" She shouted out.

"OKAY!" Holly yelled panicking.
But she sat on the ground in front of her, trying to figure out what to do.

Shadow bit her lip, trying to stem the pain, but the images kept coming more and more, faster and faster. She tried not to scream.
"Help me..." She pleaded.

"Yeah..." Holly said instantly, "Yeah ... anything ..."
She bit her lip until it bled and reached out.
"Give me half the memories..." she said, "Then it'll only be half as painful?"

Shadow took a deep breath, the pain fading away, for this episode at least. She closed her eyes =, leaning her head back.

Holly hesitated for a moment, watching her carefully, and then fell back into a crouched position.
"Okaaay....?" she asked timidly, feeling useless.

"I've been having problems in my mind. Images and memories flooding my head. It's dangerous, because I can so easily lose control..." Shadow said, holding her head in her hands.

"Bad memories?" Holly asked, knowing the answer, but feeling it wise to clarify.

"Good and bad, unfortunately more of the second." Shadow said quietly.

Holly reached out timidly to place her hand on Shadow's shoulder, ready to whip it back straight away if this gesture was unwanted, or if, you know, a giant rocket zoomed towards them at the speed of light, hit off of her hand, making her hand fly off go down the cliff land in molten lava and then zoom back up to hit Holly in the face.

Shadow flinched at the hand, but calmed herself down. A tear started to leak out of the corner of her eye.

"Wh-what?" Holly asked timidly.
It seemed everything was timid nowadays.
She was afriad of panicking and going all ... well ... Holly.

Shadow tried to bring herself back under control. SHe bit her lip, raising her head, looking up at the sky, but her eyes were shut in pain.

Holly wondered how Shadow could look at the sky AND have her eyes closed, but then shrugged, assuming it must be some demon thing.
"What can I do?" she asked her.

"I don't know, the only thing I can think of is to go into my mind. It's a problem with my demon side." Shadow said.
