The Secret

Shadow was pacing round her cell again, an age old limp starting to become more and more pronounced.

"Sit down." Holly said softly, "You'll get dizzy."
Of course this was the least of her worries.
But stilll.

Shadow ignored Holly, muttering to herself and occasionally kicking out at a wall.

"That's helpful." Holly remarked under her breath, and continued to think and look around.
"We might as well just break down the door and make a run for it, and kick anyone who gets in the way."

"You're up against nearly 100 fully trained assassins." Shadow said angrily, "You haven't got a chance."

"Oh yeah." Holly said sadly, "Well then.. .I'll compromise with them. Y'know how well compromising has worked for me in the past."
In her head Holly added 'not'.

"You're being stupid as usual." Shadow spat.

"Yah." Holly said, "I agree with ya' there chief."
Of course it must have been annoying to have someone you hate be so nice to you. So Holly continued to be nice.

Shadow didn't reply to this, and kept pacing.

"How's about we tell them if they let us go we'll get them three new recruits." Holly suggested.

"It doesn't work like that." Shadow muttered.

"Oh..."
After a moment Holly added.
"Then maybe I'll just pace uselessly and think about how short and sad my life was."

"Might as well." Shadow muttered.

"How optimistic." Holly said, "Now I don't wanna die mad at you. So, yeah."

"Face it Bristol, you're not in any situation to negociate with the assassins, I can't pull any strings because I've been taken out of your case, and I have no idea how they're going to kill you." Shadow said.

"I think I'm breaking out again." Holly said sadly, examining her face in the bars of the cell, "Anyway, yes I realise that. I assumed I'd freak, but here we are."

Shadow rolled her eyes.
"I wouldn't bother trying to escape. You'd never get very far."

"Not what I meant .... But I'm gonna run anyway. If they kill me ... yeno .."
Holly shrugged.
"Bye."

"Don't expect me to come after you." Shadow said.

"Wouldn't want you comin' after me either, don't flatter yourself." Holly lied, and she made a break for the door.

Shadow shrugged, knowing that the assassins wouldn't let her escape.

Holly looked up and down the corridor she was in, and took a chance in going left.
"Kills my family," she muttered to herself, "Thinks I care if she saves me ... God ... The nerve!"

Sure enough, an alarm went off as soon as Holly left the cells, and assassins surrounded her, guns and swords at the ready.

"As if I'd want her saving me." Holly finished. She looked up.
"Kill me then." she sighed, "Whatev."

Two assassins grabbed Holly's arms and dragged her back to her cell and threw her in, locking the door.
