A bad omen...

Bart mumbled, 'The... Blood,' he said, quietly, 'It's interfering with my senses. Even my balance...' Bart tried to get up, but he fell down instantly. He couldn't move his limbs easily. He cursed in his mind, and got up on one knee, using his right hand as a lever. His tail did not move at all.

Shadow fished around in her bag.
"I normally don't use these until it's a real emergency, but I think this counts." She said, having taken out a pair of metal arm braces. "They have silver wire worked into them, it'll hopefully apease a few of the symptoms."

'Shadow,' Bart replied, looking up at her and lifting one hand in order for her to put the bracelets, 'Thanks.' Bart closed his eyes softly. I'll really need to thank her, Bart thought, once I'm finished with this quest. IF I ever finish it...
Bart did not want to think about that.

"It's one of the few things I can do to help you, given it's my fault that you've got this problem." Shadow said, strapping one bracer onto Bart's arm, and then the second to this other arm.

'I mentioned earlier,' Bart said, looking up at Shadow, but still not quite able to stand up, 'That it was the only thing you could do.' Bart heaved himself on his feet, still sort of wobbly. He felt dizzy, and his eyes had darker and brighter spots.

"Just calm down, and relax for a few moments." Shadow warned, putting her hand on Bart's shoulder and pushing him down again. "The silver should take effect soon and take control over the demonic blood, but you need to let it work."

Bart nodded, but he wasn't very sure. It's weird having the blood of two families and three races in your body. It made everything complicated. Bart fell to the ground again, using his right arm as a lever. He then thought, If demonic blood gives magc pulses, that means...
He turned to Shadow, and asked, 'Shadow, does demonic blood also do... magic interferance?'

"What do oyu mean by that?" Shadow asked, sitting crosslegged on the ground opposite Bart.

'Well,' Bart continued, 'I mean, if I tried to transform into Kraferr again, would the demonic blood act on my low magic, and maybe create things that weren't there before?' Bart lifted his head to see Shadow, and brushed his hair away from his vision with one hand.

Shadow thought for a moment.
"I don't think that there will be any effects. I'm going on Vrael, given his vampire blood. He still needs blood, although sunlight won't kill him and he will steer clear of garlic." She smiled slightly.

Vrael, Bart thought, vampires really aren't like us humans thought. And I never beleived in them, anyways. Bart sighed. He turned around, and laid on the gravely ground on his back. He put his two hand sbehind his head for a smooth surface to lay his head on. he stared at the moon. I still remember the first night, he thought, the first time I went Kraferr.

Shadow closed her eyes, going into a medative trance. She calmed her emotions, letting go of all anger. The pain in her chest dulled, giving her some relief.

Bart wondered, are Alba and Vrael really coming? We said to meet at the outskirts, and here we are, but they aren't here. Bart mumbled something, and laid his left hand on the middle of his chest, where his Kraferr heart lay. It slowly thudded, giving him a soothing feeling. But he could still feel the effects of the demonic blood.

Shadow opened her eyes and morphed into a wolf. She had heard footsteps, and they sounded like the light footsteps of her vampiric brother.

Bart stood up, noticing that Shadow had morphed back. He glanced around, and saw nothing. It was probably the demonic blood playing with his senses again. He couldn't hear or see clearly, and that made him an easy target, especially since his wound isn't completely healed. He was only able to survive the Kraferr Outlaws thanks to Shadow and Sither. He barely did anything. Bart looked around again.

Shadow's tail was sticking up straight, and Vrael appeared on the horizon. The vampire seemed to be different, with a bow and quiver slung over his shoulders. His face seemed to be scowling, but Vrael's emotions were never very clear. He stood several metres away from Bart, and placed his fist over his heart, bowing in greeting.
"Bart," He said quietly.

Bart bowed in return, saying, 'Vrael,' and Bart approached Vrael. He scanned him, then he said, 'Well, you came.' Bart looked around, and finally asked, 'You know where's Alba?' Bart glanced at the canine, then looked back at Vrael, his red eyes glistening. His tail flicked after Bart received a quick pain in his chest. The blood, he thought, and he tried to hide it.

"Alba should be arriving presently." Vrael said. He looked at the wolf, frowning slightly, but seemed to dismiss it.

'Mmh.'
Bart looked around him. A sudden jolt of pain made him thrust his hand onto his chest. he then remembered Vrael. Damn, he thought. He obviously noticed. Find an excuse, quick.
'Don't worry,' Bart said, smiling like nothing happened, 'Just a, uh, stomach ache.'
Bart grinned like an idiot. What kind of excuse is that?!? He thought, Bah, you're surely found out now...

"My senses tell me different." Vrael murmured, his silver eyes narrowing slightly. "Let me see, and I may be able to aliviate your pain."

Shadow was sitting on the grass, trying to behave as dog-like as possible, but she knew that he was suspicious. Every breath pained her, and she tried to hide it. Morphing was perhaps not one of the best ideas now she came to think of it.

'No need,' Bart said, 'The Kraferr body can take care of it alone.'
Bart turned away. He looked at the shining moon. He noticed the same figure. The same person. He smiled, then looked at the ground. Damn, Bart thought, the scent of the blood. If Vrael notices, he'll know something has happened here.
Bart checked his watch. He could only wait for one hour till Alba comes.

Vrael raised his nose to the air, his hand grasping his bow.
"Why do I smell hostiliy?" He asked, "And if you are wounded, how could you have slain so many for the stench of blood I smell?"

Damn, Bart thought. This is getting very, very bad...
Bart pointed to Sither. 'He's the person who is helping me.' Bart looked up at Vrael. 'But how does the rest concern you, Vrael?' Bart's eyes were glistening. He felt his blood boil. He didn't want to be angry now. It would seem suspicious. Bart took a big breath of air, and sat down, and laid on his back.

Vrael raised one eyebrow, but nodded once. He knelt down in front of Shadow, seemingly inspecting her. The demoness was swearing in her mind, wishing he'd go.
"Where did this wolf come from?" Vrael asked.

Oh, Christ, Bart thought. Bart looked at Sither.
Tingeling, Idea.
Bart turned his head to Vrael. 'This is Sither's companion,' Bart said, kneeling near the canine, 'She's called Azel.'
Sither was just staring at a wall, no emotion in his mind. He surely was a solitaire person. Bart turned to Vrael, and scruffed the canine's head using his right hand.
