Coping. (Post Prophecy)

--Something's wrong here... Bart mentioned the miltia.--

"Yeah, you heard right, the militia," Bart answered. He turned to Dominique, who nodded once. "Shiraku, if you don't mind, could you keep an eye on Wraith? Thanks." Bart asked quietly, going out of the flat, and heading up the stairs, followed closely by Dominique. Bart began transforming into his kraferric form, and Dominique, remarking so, did the same. Bart took out his silver bracelets as the transformation finished once they reached the top of the building, and attached them to his arms. he then stood on the rim of the flat, and jumped in the way of the lab to Shadow.

Shiraku watched Bart and Dominique go, understanding the urgency. She sat next to Wraith, throwing a rubber ball that the wolf had retrieved. Wraith happily chased the rubber ball as it bounced off the furniture.

--Don't worry. Dude, it's almost midnight. At least TRY to get some sleep. After a few posts, I'm gettin' to bed. <.<--

Bart jumped quickly and quietly until the outers of the lab. The alarm was off, but the guarding had been dobuled. They had already noticed where Bart had infiltrated, and they were getting that part guarded and repaired also.
Dominique and Bart stopped before the lab, just out of its reach, and thus of the guards. "So, what do we do?" Dominique asked.
"The humans are weary and worried of eventual attacks. We'll have to be extremely stealthy, that's what," Bart answered. He crouched, and walked silently towards the lab, hiding in the shadows of the young night.

Shadow lay in a secured cell, curled up on the bare concrete bench. Her clothes were ripped, showing numerous burns, erupting in angry red sores. One her wrists and ankled were strips of metal, composed purely of silver. The area around these bands had been scratched at and gouged, leaving smears of black blood. Shadow scrabbled at them again, deepening some of the wounds in her attempt to get the bands off.

- Yeah, I'd better sign off now. Talk to you tomorrow. I hope I didn't keep you up... -

--No, don't worry about that.--

Bart slicked to one of the lab walls, undefended by the guards this time. He looked both ways, then made sign for Dominique to come. He looked at the guards, then looked back. There was one group of guards that seemed to be sleeping or somewhat other thing that they were doing, but they weren't guarding in any way. Bart nodded at Dominique, who got the message, and nodded back. Bart climbed the wall of the lab, and gripped to the wall above the guards' heads. Bart dropped on one, whilst Dominique pounced on the second. Bart gave one clean strike with his hand on the humans' neck, and Dominique just pinched at the main vein in the human's neck, making them pass out. Bart started to take the guards clothes off, and wearing them. Thankfully, they were his size. Since Dominique was pretty tall too, the suit covered her almost perfectly. She just had to hide her long hair in her suit, to hide that she was a girl. Bart and Dominique then tiptoed to the entrance of the lab. "Well, one thing done, Dominique," Bart said, sighing slightly, "Now, just ten billion more things to do."

Shadow gave up on the bands, letting her hand flop down onto the bench again. Her eyes were half closed, seemingly in a doze.

Bart rearranged the gun on his back, to stop it from hitting him when he was walking. Dominique did the same. Bart then did a thumbs up, nodding once, and he entered in the entrance. He lowered his helmet, as a sign of hello to the other guards, but also using that action to hide his face. Dominique did the same, walking to stop her hair from falling out. The guards just looked at them, at their height. They then shrugged, and turned around, facing the entrance. Bart and Dominique walked towards the elevator. Bart pressed on the button. One man in a white suit came, and looked at them with weary eyes. "What are you doing?" he asked.
"Uh," Bart answered.
"We're going to do what the boss said," Dominique blurted out, "We're gonna guard down at the bottom floors, aye, 'guv?"
"Er, yeah. Right, Chalk," Bart answered.
The man just looked at them again, and then walked away, going to other guards. The elevator arrived, and Bart entered, followed by Dominique. "Close one," he whispered.

Shadow opened one eye slightly to observe the guard outside the cell door. All the cells of potentially dangerous captives were guarded similarly until they were either too weak, too injured, or too dead to be a possible problem to the milita.

Bart and Dominique went out of the elevator at -5. The door closed again, creaking slightly. They nodded to other guards, who just looked at them. When they nodded, they hid their faces. They walked calmly down the hall, until Shadow's cell. Dominique put a heavy hand on the guard's shoulder.
"The switch, mate," Dominique said, her helmet slightly tilted on her face.

The guard nodded.
"Good, i could muder a cup of coffee after all these night shifts they're making us pull." He said before shifting the gun strap on his shoulder, making his way back to the lift.
Shadow barely looked up at that changing of the guards, as it had already happened once.

Bart stood aside, on the left side of the entrance, whilst Dominique stood on the right side. Bart crossed his arms, leaning against the wall, the gun on his back scraping against the wall. He looked in both directions, to make sure that no one was coming. He then sighed, as a man in white came, but did not stop by them. Dominique glared at the man, clenching her hand into a fist.
I can't use my magic now, I would go demonic. Bart felt his silver bracelets tightened under his camo-coloured sleeves.

Shadow hadn't twigged that Bart and Dominique were the two guards, and didn't move, appearing asleep. The labcoated man walked past again, leading a small unicorn.

I need to think of something... How can I show her that I'm Bart, without actually saying it out loud? Bart closed his eyes in concentration. Dominique was waiting for Bart to react. Bart thought a bit, but couldn't find anything. He tried looking in his deepest memories. Gah, 'cmon...

Somewhere in the silent cells, something moved with a slow rustling of feathers. Shadow knew that it was a phoenix that had been long caught, and she often listened to its mournful song, but a couple of moments ago, it had come back from an operation to remove the vocal chords to stop it sending the guards into a hypnotc like state.

Bart couldn't think of anything, except that moment he had with Shadow, that probably caused all this. Bart cursed within his mind. He couldn't say that again. That would just make her go crazy. Bart tried to think of something else. A man dressed in white passed. Bart took the advantage.
"Hey," he said, pushing himself off the wall, "'Ya got a bit of paper? Y'know, so I can write stuff?"
The man looked back at Bart, with wide eyes. "What ever for?" he asked.
"For doing something, 'cuz I'm getting hella bored here." Bart retorted. The man lifted his eyebrows, and took out a bit of paper, and handed it to Bart. Bart looked around, and picked a pen left on the table next to him. The man went away, going to another cell. Bart scribbled something on the bit of paper.

Hey there.

Bart then folded the paper, biting it on the fold. He crouched against the wall, and glanced around, making sure that no one was coming. After he checked, he passed the bit of paper under the door. He then stood up again, and leaned on the wall, arms crossed.

Shadow looked up as she heard the paper being slid under the door. She sat up slowly, and then stood up, reaching out towards the paper. The chain held her back a couple of centimetres from the paper, but she pulled against it, managing to grab it. Retreating to the back of the cell again, she read the words. She frowned, looking up and out of the cell at the two guards.

Bart turned his head, not looking at Shadow, but showing the profile of his face. He smiled a bit, then turned back to look forwards. I hope she got the message. Dominique was tapping the floor with her right foot. She then crouched against the wall, closing her eyes.

Shadow, still frowning slightly, dipped the edge of one of her claw-like nails into one of the open wounds on her wrist, writing back in the blood.
Did you get the Kraferrs out? Shewrite before pulling against the chain once more to push the note back under the cell door.

Bart, hearing the slight flutter of paper under the door, looked down, and casually picked it up, looking at it. He glanced the two ways, and then read the message. He smelled the blood, and then frowned slightly. He took the pen again.

Unfortunately, no. One was killed with the shots of the guards, and the other was probably taken again. I had to rush Dominique to your flat. Shiraku is back there.

Bart folded the paper, and slid it back under the door, pushing it harder this time.

Shadow picked up the paper, not having to strain against the chain to get to it this time. She read the message before using her blood to reply again.
Shiraku? I don't know anyone called Shiraku.

Bart picked up the paper that Shadow passed, and looked at it. He took the pen again.

It seems that she's somewhat related to Vrael, thus to you. I'm starting to get doubts.
Anyways, I need to get a way to get you out of where you are. Any help?

Bart passed the message under the door again.

Shadow read the message quickly before replying.
Possibly. There should be a collar and lead hanging on the wall. You need that. If anyone asks questions, just say that it's classified.

Shadow pushed the note back under the door.

Bart took the message quickly, and read it. He looked up, and, as Shadow wrote, there was a lead and collar. So, we treat people like dogs here? Eh, doesn't surprise me. Bart put the message in his pocket, and tapped his pocket once.
Bart looked in two directions, noticing no one was coming, nor looking. He took the collar and lead, and Dominique stood up, not completely understanding. Bart opened the door, and Dominique followed. Bart approached Shadow, and crouched next to her, preparing the collar and lead.

Shadow just sat quietly, bracing herself. It would seem that at some point before, the milita had aquired someone with magic, and that someone had been forced or bribed to create several devices to contain other creatures. She knew that the collar was going to foce her into her wolf form.

Bart looked up into Shadow's eyes. Dominique stood next to the door, looking if people came or went. Bart, against his will, attached the collar around Shadow's neck. He took the lead, and stood up, using one hand to push him up.
