Coping. (Post Prophecy)

A dark shadow fell upon the door to the flat. A single thin hand stretched out and slowly knocked itself on the wood. Pulling back within the coat it fell into one of the large pockets and rested there. The figure to which it belonged looked languidly down the hall as it waited...

Wraith jumped to her paws as she heard someone knock on the door and enter. With a low growl rumbling in her throat, she slunk out of the room, confronting the strange shadowy creature.

Kia nodded once, jumping down the trapdoor, leaving enough time for Dominique to jump down as well before closing the door. The assassin expertly navigated the corridors, keeping to the shadowy side.
Kia took a bracelet, similar to the one worn by the Kraferr, and slipped it onto her arm, turning down into a tunnel rank with the smell of pain, fear and blood.

Dominique followed the one she knew as Fawn wearily, glancing to her right and to her left cautiously. Her footsteps were silent, only the slight thumping of them against the ground being heard by Kia and her.

Bart, seeing Wraith jump, also jumped off the bed, and went to the door, quietly. He put an ear to the door, and heard nothing. He lifted one eyebrow. What would Shadow do? Bart then judged it wasn't anything too dangerous, as the assassins would've normally come by surprise, not to knock on a door, and he opened it quietly. His eyes went over the dark figure, and his head tilted upwards, as he saw the height of the man.
"Uh," Bart began, hesitantly, "May I know to who am I speaking to?"

A tall assassin intercepted Kia's path into another cavern. He demanded to know their purpose in the 'holding cells'.
"We're here to see Wolf," Kia said, showing her bracelet. The guard denied her access, saying that the pair had to report to the Lord to get permission before entering. Kia turned her back before rolling her eyes, muttering under her breath about formalities.

Wraith was barking and growling madly at the figure, her tail down and her ears pinned back. The wolf was ready to kil to defend her territory and her pack, and this was not going to be any exception.

Dominique fust followed Kia, silently, her feet making barely any noise on the ground. Dominique had learned this skill with the other kraferrs, but also with training. She looked at the tall man, and then looked back at Kia, frowning. There was something ominous that she didn't like in this place, and it was making her visibly uncomfortable. She stood near Kia.

Kia strode swiftly through yet more tunnels, always muttering under her breath about the protocols of the Guild. She had always thought that the outsiders were more organised. She stopped at one point in the tunnel, telling Dominique to wait there.

Dominique nodded once, understanding. She turned around, and sat near a wall, her head in her knees. She was worried about Shadow, but more about Bart. She was now almost scared of him. She began thinking twice of the agreement they had accepted. I won't be able to save the Kraferrs with this kind of guy... Wait, who says I can save the Kraferrs, anyways? I don't even know if I'm up to it! What a fool I'm making out of myself!

Kia entered the chamber, and came out again a few moments later, wide eyed and shaking slightly.
"We can't go and see her, but we're going to anyway..."

Dominique got up quickly, and nodded to Kia. She approached Kia, and put one hand on her shoulder. Her decision was made. She needed to know.
"Fawn," she whispered. She hesitated a moment. Maybe this wasn't the moment. She turned away. "...Nothing," she said. "Let's go."

Kia nodded, slightly curious, but being in the assassin Guild had taught her not to go nosing into things that didn't concern her. She lead the way back to the holding cells, confronting the guard again. Her air was confident, and she looked the guard straight in the eye. He nodded once, confirming Kia's request and letting her through.
Kia glanced back at Dominique, beckonning her fowards and walking into the cavern. The carved cave walls were lined with smaller caverns, the entrance of each one having been covered by metal bars. Only a couple were occupied.

Dominique nodded once, and followed Kia inside after thinking for a short time. She kept near the assassin, peering into the chambers, which seemed more like cells to her. She tried looking for Shadow, her red eyes flickering gently, and her tail flicking the air swiftly.

Kia looked into the cells briefly until she found the one she was looking for. The assassin lowered her eyes to the ground, knowing what the punishment for trechary was. As assassins gain so many scars during their travels, the punishement was to have every single scar re-opened.

Dominique stared at Kia, then looked in the direction she was looking. She saw Shadow, and she recoiled, putting one hand in front of her. She then stepped quickly to the bars, gripping on them tightly.
"Shadow!" She exclaimed, her red eyes glistening. Her tail slashed at the wind fiercely, and her claws dug into her skin, as her grip tightened even more.

Shadow was curled up at the back, blood leaking into a shallow pool around her. She looked up at Dominique, the blood from the previously scarred demonic mark blurring her vision. Every scar had been reopened, from knife wounds to bullet wounds and even the runes that the Synari Senate had carved into her skin at an early age to 'protect' her against demonic influence (She had never had the heart to tell them that it didn't work). She got to her feet, her face carefully expressionless, and laid one blood soaked hand on the bars.

bic// The dark haired head raised as the door opened, revealing twin eyes the depth and blackness of which were frightening. The face too showed a well of cruelty that was definitely disturbing. Clothes the color of a moonless midnight just served to add to the overall menacing appearance, and yet when the figure spoke it was with such worry and kindness as to be totally out of place. "I am so sorry to intrude," that liquid smooth voice slid through the air, heavily laden with magic, "My name is Pleiadies Yaega, but you should call me Diaes. It is much easier. I am here on slightly urgent business. Shadow is in trouble and I fear that I may be too late. Please, may I come in?" The claw like hand extended towards the house. The cruelty of the face had melted into one of caring and help.

Dominique grasped Shadow's hand quickly, being careful not to touch any wounds if there were any.
"You... You've been!" Dominique stuttered, falling to the ground. "And I can't do anything to help you..." She muttered under her breath. She had never seen something like this. How could one do such a cruel thing? Ever since the kraferric murder, she had been seeing things, in their true perspective. Is this the goal of one? She repeated in her mind.

Bart looked up at the shadowy man that knew himself as Diaes. Bart inspected him carefully, as he did with new strangers. He was slightly disturbed by the man's frightening appearance, which could be described as dark as a rabbit hole, with a dead rabbit at the end. He let the man in, cautious. He made a hand sign to Wraith to calm down.
"Shh," he said, calmly. He looked up at the man, who was much taller than him.
"How do you know that Shadow is in danger?" Bart asked, weary.

- CnP, I think you mean 'wary', as in cautious, not 'weary' which means tired -

Wraith stood next to Bart, her body slightly curved around the Kraferr in a protective stance. The wolf sensed that the interuder was not exactly human, but she couldn't pinpoint exactly what he was. She continued to growl quietly at him, despite Bart's orders.

Shadow gazed at Dominique.
"I disobeyed the orders of the clan." She said simply. "It is not uncommon for people to be injured in such a manner." She looked out at a cell on the other side of the cavern. "Hawk broke another assassin's arm when he lost control of his anger. They broke Hawk's arm so that e would endure the same pain." Shadow looked at a different cell. "Unicorn over there messed up badly on an attempt and is sentenced to childbearing for the rest of her life."

"That's... That's!" Dominique stuttered. Instead of finishing her sentence, her head dropped. She felt Shadow's hand on the bars, caressing it. She smelled the blood, and that was something tat made her uncomfortable.

Bart hushed Wraith again, afraid that Diaes might get annoyed by the canine. He scratched the wolf's head.
"Shh," he repeated, calmly.

Shadow just shrugged.
"There is nothing we can really do. The Lord rules all and sentences all punishement. We just have to bow before him." She said quietly, using one sleeve to try and wipe the blood away from trickling into her eye.

Dominique tried hard not to breathe heavily. She was shaking.
"But why did you come here in the first place?!" She asked, suddenly. Her tail swiped against the ground, brushing dust and small debris away. Her red eyes glistened in the darkness, as her hair fell over her eyes.

Shadow looked down at the bloodied ground beneath her.
"Because, when I first came to this city, I killed an assassin who was supposed to kill me. The Lord of that time decided that he wanted to recruit me, and in exchange, he offered the protection of the Guild against the Milita."

"And you allied yourself to somebody who wanted to kill you in the first place?!" Dominique said, pressing her hands against the bars, her grip tightening. Her tail now slashed at the air, before thudding onto the ground. If Bart had been in her position, he would've already gone demonic.

Shadow glared slightly at Dominique.
"I was scared of the Milita, and it had been someone else that had ordered my death." She said, "Everyone does strange things out of fear."

"I know...' Dominique murmured sadly. Her hands slid down the bars, to fall on the ground. Her face tilted downwards, and her hair fell over her face. Her tail seemed to slow down in motion, then brutally stopped. She breathed slowly, and her eyes were shut.

Kia had said nothing all through the conversation, but she stepped closer to the bars, removing one.
"Come on, you should get to the 'medical bay'." She said, winking. The 'medical bay' she was talking about was not actually inside the Guild.
