Coping. (Post Prophecy)

Bart frowned slightly. His tail uncoiled, then flicked at the table. "Then, I don't get it. Do you know what could we do to heal this?" he asked, guessing what she was about to answer. He didn't know a lot on demons, and it seemed that Shiraku didn't know too.

"An antipoison, but I don't know what the poison is..." Shadow murmured, her eyes closed. Her claws contined to gouge deep grooves into the wood.

"That's what I said earlier to Shiraku," Bart explained, "We cannot use any antipoison. We probably need to do it manually somehow."
Bart's tail thudded against the table. It then stroked the table rapidly, then flicked at it. Bart really then thought if the tail itself was alive, sometimes.

"The only way is the Holy Water..." Shadow murmured, her tail thudding against the table before finally lying still. Shraku looked half shocked, half worried at Shadow's words, unable to make out what she meant.

Bart shook his head, and then sighed. "Well then, your choice- you know demons much more than me. I guess I have to follow what you say. Dominique, pass me the flask."
Dominique crouched, taking the Holy Water, and handing it to Bart. He grabbed it tight, and looked at Shadow. He tilted Shadow's head, but, as his hand reached for the top of the flask, he turned to Shadow. "Are you sure?" he asked.

Shadow nodded once.
"Wraith knows where the antidote is..." She said, starting to brace herself for the effects the Holy Water was going to cause to her system.

"I'll ask Wraith for it, then," Bart answered. He put a hand on Shadow's forehead, and then tilted the holy water into her mouth. he gulped as he did so. he finished pouring the bottle, then he posed it on the floor. he looked at Wraith, tilting his head to the side, in sign for Wraith to get what Shadow needed.

Wraith bounded off to get the antidote, her tail between her legs as Shadow obediently swallowed the water. She could feel it taking effect immediately as it always did, as if she had just swallowed fire.

Bart held Shadow down, slightly worried. Dominique put both her hands on Shadow's body, regulating the breath intake. Bart put one hand onto her forehead, looking forwards to improvments in the temperature.

Shadow gulped down air as the fire started to spread. She had her head tilted back as far as she could, eyes tightly shut as it spread to her spinal cord, going up to her head. Her tail was beating the table wildly, her nails gouging at the wood again.

Bart kept Shadow down by one palm on her forehead. Soon enough, he noticed that himself was breathing heavily and slowly. He waited for Wraith to come back with the antidote. When do I have to use it, anyways?!?

Shadow's breathing was starting to become laboured, her jaw clenched as beads of sweat continued to crawl down her forehead. Wraith bounded back in with another packaged syringe in her mouth, ears pinned back to her head.

Bart grabbed the syringe, pulling it out, as well as taking a cotton dabbed with desinfectant. He cast worried glances at Dominique and Shiraku. "When do I have to use this d*mn thing?!" he yelled out, one hand on Shadow's forehead, pinning her head down.

"I don't know!" Shiraku said, sounding paniked as she watched Shadow battling against the restraints. Wraith was starting to trn in tight, frantic circles, whining.

Bart then turned to Shadow. I'm going to wait until my instinct says that it is time. i've always trusted my instinct, haven't I? So, c'mon, just keep conecntrated. That is the key. Just. Keep. Conecntrated.

- Sorry, had to do something with the dogs -

Shadow started to fight against the restraints, starting to whimper. Wraith was starting to look even more paniked, and Shiraku didn't know what to do.

Bart breathed in heavily, still pinning down Shadow's body by the head with one hand, the syringe in the other. Drops of sweat appeared on his temples, and he wiped them off with one clear sweep. magic started appearing on his hands. Oh no, not now... The magic ran across the room for a split second, only to disappear again in Bart's hand, who was breathing heavily now, his eyes twitching involuntarily.

Shadow started to give hacking coughs, blood starting to trickle out of her mouth. She gripped the table hard, and Wraith started to bark.

Okay, now! Bart took Shadow's neck, and twisted her head gently. He dabbed the neck with desinfectant, and then inserted the syringe, emptying it of its content into Shadow's blood. He took out the syringe, and then put a hand on Shadow's forehead again. Calm down, calm down.

Shadow's coughing fit lasted for a few moments before her breathing reverted back to its laboured state. She turned her head away from Bart, lying on its side as she tried to control her actions. Her tail hung limply over the edge of the table, as it it was exhausted.

Bart was still breathing in deeply and slowly. His red eyes glistened in the shadows of his purple hair. He put a hand to his beating heart, and then tried to calm himself down. His tail flciked savagely at the wind.

Shadow turned her gaze back to Bart, but her violet eyes seemed to be distant, as if she wasn't really seeing what was there. Wraith whined quietly, licking the demoness' hand.

Bart started breathing slowly, his hand on his chest cutting his purple shirt. The cloth on his leg was now totally black from blood, but Bart didn't notice. His tail flicked savagely at the air, and his eyes glistened as he met Shadow's gaze. "Are you ok?" he whispered, not able to say anything else.

"I think so..." Shadow murmured, flexing her hand again. She leant her head back on the table, looking up at the ceiling, her eyes closed.

I hope so.
Bart closed his eyes, seemingly releived. He was tired now. Tired of the recent events. Having to retreive Shadow from the militia, getting shot, then having to heal Shadow. He smiled slightly, as he felt darkness rise over him. He tilted backwards, and he fell to the ground, sleeping. His pruple fur disappeared, leaving place to brown fur. His four eyes merged into two. He snored slightly, his tail coiled around his leg, one arm above his head, ona arm under his body. Dominique jumped as he landed heavily onto the ground, dashing to him to see if he was ok, but he was sleeping, and she smiled at him.
