Coping. (Post Prophecy)

Shadow used the magic to try and pull Bart's arm up behind his back, her eyes narrowed in concentration. Breathing was starting to be excruciatingly painful, but she did her best to ignore it. She had to stop Bart in his demonic possession.

Bart roared, but he couldn't resist against the magic. He hadn't yet controlled his demonic side, thus he was weakened from the constant attempts. The black sphere lowered itself to the ground, and then Bart could be seen, his two knees on the ground, one arm coiled around his back, the other pressing against the ground. His head was lowered.

Shadow walked towards Bart, one hand outstretched and surrounded with an aura of magic, keeping the armlock in place.
"Bart?" She asked quietly, not releasing the magic. She wondered who would reply, Bart of the demon?

A voice boomed from Bart's now open mouth. He turned his head quickly to Shadow, his hair still hiding the upper part of his face. "How doth thou dareth?!" The voice was not like Bart's. It wasn't grave. It was slightly high-pitched, with an eerie echo at the end. "Thou shall regret thy loathesome act!"

Shadow raised an eyebrow, not quite sure of what sort of demon she was dealing with.
"I demand that you identify yourself," She commanded. Her voice seemed to have a second, more echoing and deep layer. Her demonic side...

A sneer crept along Bart's face. His elongated canines glistened. "Heheheh...." he laughed, the claws on his hands, clutching against the ground. Bart's head slowly turned to Shadow again. "You've changed alot, I see, ever since my death. If I told you the truth of whom I really was, you wouldn't beleive a word that would come out from my mouth."

Shadow's lips curled back in a snarl.
"I am Shadow Roth, heir to Karthragan, Prince of Darkness. I demand to know your identity!" She barked, her eyes flashing red briefly.

Bart's sneer just lengthened. "Just remember. I am what you should call..." Bart began, his hair falling down his forehead, showing his four red eyes, glistening evilly, "Yourself." There was a short pause. Bart cackled to himself slightly, and continued. "I am what you were in the past. Shadow Roth- before the prophecy. I think you should remember the act you commited with Bart. The blood transfusion. In other words, it seems that your dead past has caught up with you."

Shadow backed away a pace, but then narrowed her eyes.
"You are not me. I was in control of my other side. It posed no threat!" She snarled, but in the back of her mind, she wished that she believed that she believed her own words.

Bart's hand broke loose of Shadow's magic, as she deconcentrated. He stood up slowly, still grinning like a sane man. He then lifted his head to Shadow, his eyes glistening, an maniac look on his face. "You previously injected your blood into this weak body. Why shouldn't it be your older you talking to the now new you right at this moment?" Bart cackled to himself. "I should thank you for leaving me inside of the frail body. As I kept hidden within the host, I hath developed. The Kraferric body has evolved with me. It's almost dependant of me now. I've only been able to manifest myself now, because the host was sleeping, and he was weakened from a wound in his leg, and also weakened by my constant attacks, that he never showed, sympathetically."

Shadow tried desperately to come up with some sort of strategy, a way to defeat a creature that she refused to think of as herself. As hard as she tried, she couldn't bring herself to take down her friend, one of the only friends she now had. She took a deep breath.
"Listen, transfer yourself back to me, take me as your host, leave the Kraferr." She said quietly, "You will be more powerful with me, I have more demonic blood that he does. I will surrender to your power."

Bart grinned, slowly lifting one hand up to his forehead, hiding his four red, glistening eyes. He cackled slightly to himself. He flicked out one strand of hair from his sight, then dropped his hand aside his leg. "Ah, but I'm afraid I can't do so, dear Shadow," he replied, lifting his hand in front of him, "You see, having this kraferric blood mixed with the demonic blood gives extra properties and capabilities to the body and anatomy, most of them being beneficial to my intents," Bart then turned to Shadow, "Whereas, if I transferred myself to you again, I should lose these powers, and if you would eveer be able to control yourself again, I would then fade into the void, like part of me already has."

"His body is weak." Shadow argued calmly. "He will die within perhaps one hundred years, maybe less. I have millenia ahead of me. I am heir to a dimenion of warriors, all of which may be at your command. If needs be, then I will take on Kraferric blood, but leave him alone..."

"I'll be able to complete my task within those years," Bart answered calmly. "Talking about my intents, I have not yet of which.First," Bart lifted one finger, smiling slightly, "I shall kill the last Kraferr, Dominique, to prevent any further chances of her becoming as me, then being at my power. Second," Bart lifted a second finger, "I shall decimate you, so that I'll be sure that no one shall be able to stop me."

Shadow narrowed her eyes.
"I have given you a choice. There are few part demons left in any world, and I have offered you a position with tremendous power. If you refuse to accept, then I will have no other choice than to kill you." She said, drawing herself up to her full height, magic surrounding her in a flame like aura.

Bart's sneer stood on his face, his long canines glinting. His four red eyes glistened as he looked up at Shadow. "Oh, I won't cooperate, that's for sure," Bart replied, "I think I'll-"
Bart's hand started twitching. He frowned, as the hand slowly put itself in his pocket. "What the?"
The hand took itself out, something glinting in the light attached to it's grip. The silver bracelet. Bart seemed to fight against his own hand. The fur on his right arm flashed a wave of brown, then went back to purple. "You... Ain't... Gonna... Get me like this!" As he spoke those words, it seemed that two were stacked upon each other. One voice was the demonic voice. The other was grave, but furious. The hand flicked the bracelet open, and slammed it against his other hand, and snapped it back closed. The fur on the arm began to shiver, then it turned brown almost immediately. He took the other bracelet in his other pocket, and put that onto his other arm. The fur immediately went brown. His hair started flowing gently, it's sturdyness having been lost, and it turned brown. His four red eyes merged, forming a pair of two red eyes. His claws transformed back into simple kraferric claws. The tail went back to it's original brown colour. The wound on his leg shortened, fizzled, then disappeared, the markings along with it.
He gagged, and fell to the ground, breathing heavily.

Shadow immediately ran to Bart's side, checking him over.
"Bart," She murmured quietly, "Can you hear me? Tell me you can hear me!" Her voice was slightly frantic, worry plaguing her mind.

"I..I can... Can hear you," he said, between two gasps for air. As a jolt of pain appeared in his chest, he closed his eyes shut tightly together, putting one hand on his chest. A black spot appeared, propaging over his purple shirt. He yelled out. "Aaarrgh!"
His tail flicked at the air furiously. The silver bracelets glinted.

Shadow's eyes widened as she rolled Bart over onto his back, pulling up his shirt to take a look at what was ailing him. The black had smelt like blood, demonic blood. She prayed to the Goddess that he would be able to survive this. He didn't seem to be in a good state.

Multiple pores on his chest were spilling black blood, it dribbling down the sides of his stomach. The pores were aligned, though. In the sign of an upside-down star, also known as the sign of Satan. Bart yelled out again. His claws dug into the ground deeply. His heart beat at a fast rate, and he was breathin heavily. Coils of condensed breath lifted into the air as he breathed.

Shadow took a deep breath, summoning her magic. Muttering spells under her breath, she tried to heal the wounds as well as pull out the prescence she knew was causing them. Her brow was furrowed heavily in concentration, ignoring the acute pain in her chest.

The pores on Bart's chest closed. The satanic marking on it slowly faded, and long demented sigh being heard, coming from his chest as it did so. Bart was still in pain. His claws scratched at the ground, tensing. His tail flicked at the cold earth violently. The silver bracelets glinted, and his face screwed in pain.

"It's ok Bart," Shadow murmured quietly, trying to sooth the Kraferr. "Just try and keep calm..." She began to work her way through her arsonal of healing spells, dulling the pain. She bit her lip, needing some of the potions she had at home before she could help her friend properly.

Bart tried breathin calmly, but the pain in his chest just blurred and scattered through his body. He moaned in pain, but tried keeping himself from yelling. His tail tensed, then flopped onto the ground. His heart was beating fast, too fast for a normal kraferric body. His eyes shot open again. The red in his eyes were diluting. It was now a slightly brighter red, almost reaching pink.
He was dying.

Shadow, hearing the pulse started to panic even more. The magic around Dominique faded as Shadow released the spell unknowingly. The demoness bit her lip, trying to think of a way to help him, but there was only one way, a last resort, something that had only been used a handful of times since the dawn of the Earth.
Shadow placed her open palm on Bart's forehead, taking a quick, deep breath before muttering the words to a spell she knew off by heart. As soon as she uttered the first words, a shining black thread connected her primary heart with his, and energy started to flow along it. Shadow started to tremble, everything in her mind yelling at her to stop the spell, but she didn't. She was transfering her life to Bart, trying to save him.
