Coping. (Post Prophecy)

Arella frowned slightly.
"You have a rather depressive outlook on life, do you not?"
"Arella," Shadow muttered darkly.

Bart brightened, and he smiled gently at the woman. "Yes, yes, rather, in fact, I do," Bart replied, closing his eyes, and losing his smile, "But we have to know the dark, true facts of life here... Even though it's a little too late for you, Arella."

"I knew them also," Arella said her bright blue eyes gazing at the Kraferr. She turned to Shadow, saying something in Synari. Shadow looked shocked, responding in the same language, but Bart's name had come up with both of their dialogues.

Bart lifted one eyebrow at the discussion. Why were they're talking in demonic again? Bart sighed. He turned to Dominique, one eyebrow lifted. Dominique rolled her eyes hesitantly. Bart turned back to the two demons. He wondered why the began talking in demonic.

--By the way, does Bart sound the same in demonic? As in the pronounciation?--

- Yeah, it does, because it's a name, and they're talking in Synari, not Demonic. They're not the same thing -

Arella said something with a teasing smile on her face, and Shadow scowled, folding her arms over her chest, obviously having lost what ever discussion the mother and daughter had been having.

Bart also frowned, and put a hand up to his face. The palm slapped on his forehead, and he shook his head, putting one hand on his hip. He brushed his brown hair out of his face before he looked up again.
"Okay," he began, "Can someone tell me why are you speaking in another language that we don't understand whilst you are perfectly able to use english, and why did I hear my name in there?"

Shadow glanced at Arella, saying something quickly in Synari.
"Why ever not?" Arella laughed. Shadow scowled again.
"Arella seems to have aquired the wrong idea about certain things that I do not wish you to know about." She explained.

"Aherm," Bart said quickly, "If it concerns me, I would really like to know what you're talking about. I hate secrets that I don't know when I know that it has my name written in it." He lowered his head slightly, only to brush off his dark brown hair out of his face.

Arella glanced at Shadow, but ignored her don't-you-dare-tell-him look. She looked up at Bart.
"We were basically discussing how obvious some of Allyssianne's feelings are to an empath." Arella said. Shadow looked questionningly at her mother. "Allyssianne, you didn't seriously think that you inherited your empathy from your father, did you?"

"Erm," Bart muttered, pointing at himself, "Does not understand much? Empath, have a small memory hole, sorry, dunno what it means." Dominique lowered her head in humiliation, and raised one hand to her head.
"What?" Bart asked, turning to Dominique, "I have the right to forget, mmh?"

"An empath," Arella explained, "Is someone who can feel the emotions of those around them. I gained that power from my father, and Allyssianne inherited it from me." Shadow shurgged.
"I thought it was just part of being a demon. I guess not." She said, glad that they were at least away from the orignial subject.

"Ah, I get it now," Bart replied quickly, "I sometimes feel the same thing... Being myself, it doesn't surprise me." He looked around, and closed his eyes. "I can sense the emotions of lots of people. Subconsciously. But most of the time, I reply wrongly to it." He looked at Dominique, lifting one eyebrow. She rolled her eyes, blushing slightly.

"Most creatures have some degree of empathy, although for some it is more pronounced than for others." Arella said, "And sometimes, the emotions that we feel from others are... interesting..."

"Yes, very," Bart agreed, turning his face from Dominique, who blushed even more, smiling slyly. Bart looked at Arella, with one eyebrow raised. "But sometimes, it's kinda... Something that you don't expect."

"I agree," Arella said, "Such as the emotions I sensed from Allyssianne when she looks at you."
"Arella!" Shadow hissed, her fists clenching.

"Eh?" Bart replied, "What?" He started getting interested. He smiled, and lifted one eyebrow. "Am I in the capacity of hearing this?" He added, with a sly smile. "Or maybe would Shadow be just too intimate of what she seems to feel? No offense." Dominique laughed quietly in her corner, her hand up to her face.

Arella was smiling slyly at her daughter, who was fuming in the circle.
"I see no reason as to why you may not know." She said teasingly, her gaze turning back to Bart. "And it would seem that Dominique already knows, or perhaps I am just mistaken."

Bart lifted one eyebrow at Dominique, who tilted her head. "Do you know anything?" Bart asked. Dominique tilted her head on the other side.
"Yeah," she answered.
"Then what?" Bart asked.
"Well, seems that Shadow or Arella could explain better than me," Dominique replied, tilting her head to the two demons.

"Don't," Shadow warned the Synari Senator. Arella smiled.
"Such words as you do not wish to say should not remain so close to the heart." She advised her daughter before speaking to Bart. "It would seem that Allyssianne feels a high level of affection for you."

Bart seemed astonished. He stood there blinking for a while, before his gaze landed to the floor, as his face darkened. His hair fell in front of his eyes. He breathed calmly, steadily. He tilted his head, but it soon looked back down.
"Ah," Bart replied briefly. He looked up for a moment. "Can I be excused for a moment? Like, right now?" He asked, but before anyone answered, he went out of the room, closing the door behind him. A few footsteps were heard, then it stopped.
"He seems pretty shocked," Dominique said, laughing gently.

Shadow was looking at the floor, the hood on her dark green hoodie pulled over her head.
"I think you may be right, Dominique," Arella mused aloud, watching the closed door.

"There must be something that he didn't like in there, surely," Dominique replied, lifting her head, and putting up one finger up to her chin, "And I don't know why, nor what."

"Neither do I," Arella said, "I was only an empath, never a telepath. Perhaps you should find out what is wrong with him."

"Me?" Dominique asked, "Sorry, I've tried and failed many times. He mostly sees me as the person that is trying to get the kraferric race going again, even though I cannot... Basically, I forced him in a way to get him to be my family... I didn't know what I was doing then... I needed to check before... And he kept with his promise, and he still does. I don't know, honestly." Dominique felt slight uneasy, slightly worried now. "Maybe you should go talk to him. Either of you."

Arella glanced at Shadow, and then left the room, looking around for any sign of the Kraferr. Shadow sighed, leaning back on her hands, still in the circle of powder. The demoness watched the ceiling, thinking.
