Revenge

Fabrice sighed deeply, taking the white cloth again. She leaned her head on her hand. She sighed again, closing her eyes. She pulled down one of the sides of her shirt, showing her shoulder. Near her neck, were many traces. She looked at them with a tired look.

Nightmare watched, wondering what the bloodstained cloth was for. She made a mental note to tell Alex all of this once his band of mad, insane ghosts had left for the night. It may be something that he would want to know.

Fabrice sighed again, and pulled the side up again on her body, covering the scars. She looked at the ground, then leaned back on her bed. She threw the bloodied cloths in her bag, and closed her eyes, breathing slowly.

Nightmare raised her eyebrows but, ignoring the pain, pulled a feather from one of her wings, laying it on the girl's desk. The angel knew that it would become visible soon after she had gone. Her feathers normally did, and she didn't know why. Maybe it was just because she could still interact with inanimate objects in the living world. Sighing, Nightmare took to the skies again, heading back to Alex's flat.

Fabrice stayed on the bed, breathing slowly and calmly, not aware of the feather that was deposed on her desk. She would notice once she was awake.

Alex was sitting on his bed, his head in his tensed hands. One small boy was turning around him, then stopped in front of him.
"Did you find it Alex?" The boy asked with a ghastly voice. Alex smiled sadly at the boy, and put a hand on the boy's head.
"I'm sorry, Stanley," Alex replied, "No, I didn't find the object you seek."

Nightmare stayed in a corner once she had arrived back at Alex's flat, patiently waiting for Alex to finish with the rest of the ghosts while she processed all the information in her head, thinking of ways to phrase it.

The small boy looked sad, and he turned away, fading into a wall. Alex managed to mutter 'sorry' before the boy disappeared. He looked up at Nightmare.
"So!" He said, "It seems my work is not done here, since I have a new ghost to take care of. Well, an angel. But still. Want to talk about what you are feeling? Why do you think you didn't go to Heaven nor Hell?"

Nightmare rolled her eyes.
"I don't care where I go as long as I get out of this limbo state I'm currently stuck in. I didn't exactly ask to come back, but while I'm here I thought I might as well avenge my death and the death of several of my friends." SHe said in a bored tone of voice.

"I guess that could be one option," Alex replied, "Any less hostile than that one?" Alex asked, looking up at the fallen angel, with questioning eyes. He twiddled with the pen he had recently taken out of his pocket, and with a notebook he always kept on him.

Nightmare thought for a moment.
"Nope, just that. Hey, I was murdered. What else would I come back for?" The angel asked, rolling her eyes?

"Yes, I guess I have to put that into account," Alex said, turning his head to his notebook, and writing it down again. "But," Alex asked, "What do you feel, constantly? I mean, like, just after you died, and right now? I need more precisions."

Nightmare narrowed her eyes, using one hand to knock the notebook from his hands.
"Enough with the psychologist report, ok?" She snarled, her eyes blazing with fiery fury.

"Oh, sorry," Alex replied, rolling his eyes and closing his notebook, throwing it onto the ground violently, and then snapped the pen in two. He let the pen go, and drop onto the ground, and put a hand to his face.
"Sorry, I'm just stressed," he said quickly, and then he looked at Nightmare. "And you seem to... But why?"

Nightmare clenched her jaw, turning her back on Alex, her wings flared slightly in annoyance.
"Like you can't guess. I'm dead!" She snarled. "For you, life goes on, but all I have to look forward to is the eternal reminder that I am no longer among the living!"

"Look, Nightmare," Alex replied, "I didn't want to become offending. I'm sorry if I did. Keep calm, ok?" Alex sighed, and sat on his bed, his hands clasped together. He looked up at the angel.
"So, where did you go there?"

Nightmare calmed herself down, tucking her wings back against her back as she began to pace in another attempt to calm herself down. A sly smile crept onto her face.
"I went and spied on your little girlfriend."

"On my...? Girlfriend?!" Alex repeated quickly, looking up questioningly at the fallen angel. "Oh, Fabrice, you mean." He sighed, and lied down on his bed. "Don't call her my girlfriend, because she isn't... I just like her... I don't think she likes me back. I'm a little too, 'freak', you see?" Alex shook his head, and opened his eyes wide. "Well, what did you do now?"

Nightmare smiled slightly, turning to Alex with her arms folded over her chest.
"If she thought you were a freak, do you think she's even talk to you? I don't think so." She said. "In fact there's something very interesting you might like to know about her."

"Hm, I guess so," Alex answered quickly. He closed his eyes, and put his head into his palms. "Look, Nightmare," he replied calmly, "Maybe I wouldn't like to know her secrets, if they are any. I mean, she has some problems with her family... And I don't want to be concerned in her secrets. I mean, wouldn't be something secret if it was spread, no?" Alex asked. "Okay, basically, in other words, if it's something that she would've kept to herself, don't tell it. I don't want to be... Sort of... Dishonest with her."

Nightmare rolled her eyes.
"So you don't want to know about the scars that she's hiding, nor the bloodstained cloth she keeps in her schoolbag?" She asked innocently.

Alex pulled his face from his palms, and blinked multiple times.
He jerked his head to the side, and blinked some more at the fallen angel. He lifted one eyebrow.
"Fabrice..." He began, hesitant, "Cuts herself?" Before Nightmare could answer, he quickly got up, and stomped to Nightmare, pointing defiantly at the angel. "I said I did not want to know! Jesus Christ!"

Nightmare's smile grew slightly.
"But I didn't tell you. Not directly at least."

"I don't care!" Alex retorted, "I said not to say anything about her private life!" Alex approached Nightmare, and tried putting his hands on her shoulders. Noticing that he couldn't, he sighed, and let his arms drop.
"So..." Alex began, "Fabrice cuts herself."

Nightmare rolled her eyes, turning away again.
"As if it wasn't obvious."

"I... Didn't know that," Alex admitted, sitting on his bed again, embedding his face into his palms calmly. He then lifted his head. "But come to think of it..." He answered, "With the problems between her and her family, I guess that that sort of idea would've already passed someone's mind, even hers."
