Cackles Academy for Witches (Shadow and Natalie)

Shadow nodded once and kept up her spell until the demin uttered one last gutteral roar before vanishing. Shadow collapsed as her father's magic merged with hers, as the prophecy stated. She put herself in a coma, trying to keep the outer world safe.

Merlas winged her way back to the academy, eager to see Star again.

"Merlas..." she said quietly, "what will happen to Shadow? Please speak to me...i know you can."

Merlas sighed.
"She does not want you to know."

"I don't care Merlas...I really don't...all I care about is that Shadow is...well...alive," said Natalie quietly, "I want to know that I'll see her again."

"She is trying to protect you." Merlas said.

"I know she is...but I am trying to protect her..." said Natalie in a whisper.

Merlas didn't reply to this, banking slightly to one side.

"You ok Merlas?" Natalie asked, holding onto the mares mane.

"Yes, just thinking." Merlas said.

"Ah...alright...you think away there..." said Natalie softly, also thinking.

Merlas snorted softly and touched down next to the dome.

"You can stay with me...right?" she asked Merlas.

Merlas dipped her head.

"I'll take that as a yes," said Natalie, hugging the horse gentally.

Merlas nickered gently.

Natalie smiled, and sat down on the floor, putting her head in her hands.
She suddenly look up.
"I'm not going to see her again...am I?" asked Natalie, tears now running down her face.
