Cackles Academy for Witches (Shadow and Natalie)

Shadow had to struggle not to cry as she smiled at Natalie, hugging her back.

Natalie smiled at Shadow.
"Are you welling up?" she teased.

"No, he is." Shadow joked, pointing at Midnight Star, who looked at Shadow with a 'Whaaa?' look on his face.

Natalie grinned.
"You cannot cover it up," she grinned, "you used to be good at hiding emotions." Natalie joked, shoving Shadow slightly.

"No reason to." Shadow pointed out. "No magic to go haywire."

"True..." said Natalie, who had forgotten about the situation in light of...well...everything that had happened.

Shadow's smile slid off her face as she remembered.

"We'll get it back...we now have a horse and...a foal which...can he fly at this stage?" Natalie asked.

"He won't be able to fly long, or very well." Shadow said.

"Ok...so we have Merlas, and Onyx's pony, we have me and my magic...we have Onyx and her magic...and by the way Onyx, I'm sorry about earlier, but I'll explain later...and we have a hospital wing...and most importantly...we have you Shadow," said Natalie, "we have all these things to use at our disposal to help get your magic back."

"You don't have me. I'm a problem when it comes to Kar." Shadow said, starting to pace. Star followed her, lifting his legs high as if showing off on parade.

Natalie laughed slightly at Star.
"Well then...ok...so we have Merlas, and Onyx's pony, we have me and my magic...we have Onyx and her magic...and by the way Onyx, I'm sorry about earlier, but I'll explain later...and we have a hospital wing."

Shadow kept pacing, but Merlas had a firm hold on Star's tail to stop him following.

Natalie stood still...not being the pacing sort.

SHadow stopped.
"I have a plan." She said.

"What is it?" Natalie asked Shadow.

Shadow strode over to Merlas, and took her head in her hands.
"Do you feel up to fighting? Protecting?" She asked the mare softly. Merlas snorted, prancing and nodding her head. Shadow nodded, and walked over to the potion corner.

"Flip...I was still moaning half an hour after having a kid...let alone prancing like that," Natalie grinned.

"Merlas is a battle mare, and has been through four interdimensional wars. She has the gift of immortality." Shadow said, picking out a long, slender box.

"I have that gift too...more or less like..." said Natalie.

Shadow nodded.
"Nat, I want you to take Merlas, create a distraction for Kar while I... I... kill him..."

"Right," said Natalie, carefully mounting Merlas.

"Merlas will keep you safe. You can count on her." Shadow said, drawing a long, slender black wand from the box.

"I know..." said Natalie, patting the mare, "wait...are you using a wand? You?"

"It's a special wand. The Hogwarts examiners wouldn't allow it." Shadow explained.
