Ahrach, noting Raven's reactions, sighed slightly. He then looked back at her, his golden stare having caught a worried sense to it. "You don't need to be angry against yourself, Raven," he began, "First, you fought against Val Keshra, who was slightly more experienced in battle then you. So what? You've got more life than he can imagine. Thus, you've got more training in front of you,"
I shouldn't be the one to talk...
"Then, you were probably psychologically traumatised, by the fact that Arias left you alone back there, dying. That must've acted on your physical capacities, as well as mental ones. Then, you get into a battle against Karthragan. Already that you are mortally injured, you still stand up against him. All the people I've precedently known wouldn't of done the same. You've put up as good a fight as you could've done."

"But I let him nearly kill Shadow once he broke my arm." Raven murmured quietly, "I should have been able to block out the pain and fight!"

"And get yourself killed, as well as Shadow?!" Ahrach yelled out, standing up abruptly. His skeletical fingers had coiled up into fists. He hadn't noticed yet, but his before calm breathing was now very slow, but also very deep. His eyes glimmered not with anxiety anymore, but more in anger.

Raven's gaze snapped to Ahrach, her face creased in a frown.
"I have a duty to protect my clan, no matter what any prophecy dictates!" She snapped, sitting up, shoulders squared.

Ahrach backpaced once as he saw Raven stand up abruptly, but then his frown turned into a grin. He looked joyfully at Raven. He pointed at her arm. "And I thought your arm was broken," he said, laughing slightly. He didn't really want to admit that what he had just done was by reflex.

Raven raised an eyebrow. She hadn't used her broken arm. She couldn't, not with Vrael's way of having the arm strapped across her chest. She lay back down again, turning her back on the Kuijin.

--I dunno. 'Shoulders squared' would insinuate a movement concerning the arm, thus resulting in pain. Anyways, if your arm is broken, it's almost impossible to actually move the other arm, as so I've heard, for at least the day that continues the broken arm. But then again, she's Raven...--

Ahrach put a hand up to his head, scratching the back slightly, with his long fingers. The feathers on his forearm rusteled as he did so. He had a low smile on his face. His face then darkened, remembering what his sister used to say when he got angry. "Sorry... I just can't really understand what it feels like in this situation. I'm only an amateur medic, only seeing things in a theoretical way."

- I meant to write 'shoulder squared', but habit got in the way, sorry. -

Raven glanced back over her shoulder, watching Ahrach through the corner of her eye. SHe sighed silently, turning her head away again, her unbroken arm over her stomach as she curled into a ball.

Ahrach sighed, not taking his hand off from the back of his head. He then smiled, and closed his eyes. He laughed quietly to himself. He looked outside, still smiling. It was very dark. Even the moon was hidden behind dense, black clouds. They loomed over the house, slowly, stretching through the night sky.

Raven shivered slightly, pulling a blanket over her shoulders. She wanted to sleep again, but her mind wouldn't cease its toiling. The demoness gritted her teeth, willing herself not to cry.

Ahrach continued looking out the small glimpse of window he could see for a moment, his eyes glistening in the darkness. He smiled slightly, then turned his head to Raven. He approached her quickly, without making a sound. Hopefully, she hadn't seen him. Ahrach closed his eyes, for a reason he could not distinguish.

Raven's breathing was shaky as she tried to hold back her sobs. The pain in her body and in her mind was getting to her. Even in war, she had always relied heavily on the medics there with they quick healing to get her back on the battlefield before she could even think about the pain. Now, there was nothing to help her.

Ahrach looked at Raven, smiling. Noticing her actions, his smile turned into a line across his face. He glanced around, slightly embarrassed, and feeling uneasy. Er... Did I just say something wrong? Ahrach then looked back at Raven, and sat next to her. He gazed at her for a few moments, waiting for an answer, however it may be.

Raven angrily wiped an escaped tear from the corner of one eye, but it was soon replaced with another. She bit her lip, desperately trying to hide the fact that she was crying from Ahrach. Warriors didn't cry, not unless they wanted ot be a laughing stock.

Ahrach now felt reallu uneasy. He felt like if he had done something wrong. Something really wrong. He hadn't made anybody cry for a long time, except his sister, where they got into a fight, not long ago. But then she had got revenge by lecturing him for the days that came after that. Ahrach put one hand on the back of Raven's chest, trying to comfort her. "It's okay..." Ahrach said, quietly.
Whatever it is.

Raven flinched slightly as Ahrach brushed one of the wounds caused by Karthragan's claw-like nails. She turned her head enough to look at the Kuijin through the worner of one watering eye.
"I'm sorry," She murmured.

"Sorry for what?" Ahrach asked, smiling, "It's my fault, being angry like that for no reason. I should be the one being sorry here, if that's what disturbs you so," he continued, not taking one glance off Raven's eyes, "You don't need to be sorry. Sorry for nothing. All right?"

"It's not you," Raven said quietly, "it's me. I can't deal with the pain..." The demoness was curled up, her broken arm staying protectivly between her chest and her knees which where flexed towards her chest.

Ahrach nodded comprehensively. "Well, the pain won't be lasting long, I have to say that- The Kuijin anaestetic isn't very strong, but Vrael seems like a good medic. He surely did something to keep the pain down." Ahrach smiled again. "Anyways, there's nothing to worry about now. I won't leave my place."

Raven nodded once, wiping away another tear. She wanted to go home. Not with the clan, but back in Synairn.

Ahrach hugged Raven, sensing her feelings ever so slightly, making sure not to put a hand on any of her wounds, especially her broken arm. He closed his eyes, and thought a while.

Raven wrapped one arm around Ahrach, resting her head on his shoulder, closing her eyes. She took one last shaky breath before bringing her emotions back under control again.

Ahrach still had his eyes closed, and he was breathing slowly now. He gently rubbed Raven's side, feeling that her arm was wrapping around his body. The feathers on Ahrach's forearms raised slightly as he did so, and his golden eyes glistened as he opened them again, looking at Raven.

Raven's breathing was close to silent. She carefully kept her broken arm out of the way, now wanting to add to the pain. She shifted her arm around Ahrach's shoulders slightly, sighing.

Ahrach smiled, closing his eyes again. He sighed gently, the feathers on his forearms shifting back into place as he did so. He breathed slowly, and silently, next to Raven. But, deep inside of himself, he was silent.
