Coping. (Post Prophecy)

Shadow glanced at Bart.
"Sorry, I guess I should have said that." She murmured, looking down at the directions, memorising them.

--Don't you mean 'shouldn't'?--

Bart looked back at Shadow, smiling slightly. "Nah, it's okay. I was just thinking..." Bart thought a moment. "Thinking about something," he continued, looking at Shadow in her violet eyes.

- Yeah, sorry -

Shadow tilted her her to one side questionningly.
"Do you want to tell me?"

"Eh, it's most probably not important for you," Bart answered, looking downwards. He looked back at Wraith, and smiled a bit. He then leaned on the couch, and closed his eyes. What do we do next in the human life again? Residence, Money... Education. We need education, but how to get that?

Shadow folded up the papers, incinerating them in an orb of magic before walking into her room, coming back with a gun in the holster strapped to her leg and a knife tied to her upper arm.
"I'd better get that mission done. Can you make sure Wraith doesn't eat that pigeon?"

"Er," Bart answered, opening his eyes and looking down at Wraith, "I'll try, I guess,"
Bart stood up, and walked to Wraith. He crouched down near Wraith, looking in the wolf's eyes. There was a feeling that this animal was much more than a human.

Wraith wagged her tail slightly, watching Shadow teleport away again. The wolf looked back at Bart, seemingly planning something. Her tail twitched again.

Oh Christ. This reminds me of that little brat. What was she called again? Neky, or something. I know that look in eyes...
Bart maintained his position. He looked at the wolf with cautious eyes. Hey, wait- where's the pigeon?
Bart looked up, trying to find the volatile. He then looked backwards. The pigeon was still perched onto the couch. He turned his head to the wolf.

--Which, of course isn't there, right? <.<;;--

Shadow appeared again a couple of moments later, blood splattered up one arm. Wraith barked bounding over. SHadow smiled tiredly at Bart.
"Job done," She said, trapping the pigeon again, writing a short note and tying it to the pigeon again before letting it go out of the window.

Bart blinked at Shadow. "Already?" he asked, but he didn't wait for the answer. "You need to get that blood off your arm, it'll be kind of weird seeing a fifteen year-old girl with blood like that."
Bart took a towel, and wet it with water. He took Shadow's arm, and began wiping off the blood. The towel soon went red.

Shadow took over wiping the blood from her arm, thanking Bart. She yawned, turning her head away to be polite.
"Do you mind if I take a nap? Teleporting always makes me tired..."

"Do so, doesn't bother me," Bart replied, smiling back. He took the towel, and wet it again, and twisted it, and tightened it to take out all the water and blood. He casted a glance to Shadow and Wraith, and smiled. He liked this place.

"Thanks," Shadow said, going to her room and curling up in the bigger basket. Wraith did the same in the smaller one. Both of them drifted off into sleep, Shadow's tail twitching occasionally before wrapping itself around her curled form.

Bart went into the twin's room, and took off a blanket from one of the beds, carrying it away to Shadow's room. He looked down at her and smiled. He laid the blanket over her curled body, and smiled again. He crouched near her, and sat there, just watching her. It was different, seeing Shadow be at peace, for once.

Wraith opened one eye, looking at Bart. Her tail thumped against the edge of the basket a couple of times, Shadow's tail twitching slightly as well.

Bart noticed Wraith, and he smiled at the canine. Bart played with his fingers on the ground, tapping his fingers in order against it. He then turned his gaze to Shadow, and he smiled again. He yawned at his turn.

Shadow sighed silently in her sleep, curling into a tighter ball, her tail wrapped tightly around her.

Bart closed his eyes, and laid on the ground next to Shadow, arms lifted as a cushion for his head. He flexed one leg, and sighed, whilst smiling. Leading a human life, for once... Weird thing, I didn't think it would ever turn out like this.

Shadow sighed quietly, dreaming about her past with her family as she did every night. Her tail twitched slightly, reacting to the dream.

Bart woke up, hearing a faint sound. He stood up. Hearing it again, he began his kraferric transformation. The fur shoved out of his skin. He took his silver bracelets and attached them to his forearms, as his tail sprouted.
He went out of the room. Faint footsteps echoed from behind him. He quickly turned around. A hand shoved itself onto his face, and he fell down. The other person came down with him. Bart opened his eyew wide as he noticed who it was.
"Mmmhmm?!" he mumbled. He took off the person's hand. "Dominique?!" he whispered, "What are you doing here? Hell, how did you get here?!"
Dominique stood up, helping Bart up. "Followed you," she whispered back. She pointed to a window. It was open. Bart ran to it, and closed it, and locked it. He turned back to Dominique. "And why are you here?" he asked, his tail flicking nervously.
"Just thought I could pay a visit."
Bart mumbled something under his breath.

Wraith suddenly jumped up, barking and growling. Shadow was instantly on her feet,gun drawn, cocked and aimed withing the space of a second. Seeing Dominique, she lowered the gun slightly, put kept a hold on it, clicking the safety catch on. She ran a hand through her jet black hair.
"Could you perhaps use the front door next time?"

Dominique opened her eyes as she saw Shadow, but then closed them again.
"I preferred a more descreet entry, as I'm not used to turn into a human form."
Yeah, right, you're a human, after all... Bart thought, looking at Dominique through mid-closed eyes.

Shadow raised an eyebrow.
"You do realise that I could have shot you there and then? Everyone uses the front door unless it's an assassin or something similar. Either that or Wraith would have mauled you if Bart hadn't been here."

"Most probably," Dominique answered calmly, "But I did not know that you..." Dominique turned her glare over to Bart. "ALSO resided here..."
Bart shrugged. "What? Are you insinuating something again?"

"He's only just moved in to help me adjust to living like a human." Shadow said, her eyes narrowed. She had always been a bit wary of Dominique. Her grip on the stock of the gun shifted, taking a better grip.
