Coping. (Post Prophecy)

The doctor led Dominique to the end of the corridor, where there was another heavy door.
"I believe this is the creature you're looking for," He said, "Blood tests show that she's half demon, and half alien. We're still running tests on her right now."
He opened the door into another brilliantly lit room with computer banks around it. Small pools of black blood had gathered around a medical table located in the centre of the room, and on which Shadow was lying, heavy-looking metal bands around her shins, stomach and shoulders keeping her down despite her struggling.

Dominique's eyes widened, but then returned to normal, as she was scared to be discovered. She checked if there were any other people in the same room. 2. She wouldn't be able to kill them without brining the alarm. heck, they wouldn't be able to take Shadow without brining on the alarm. She looked around, and came near Shadow.
Bart followed Dominique and then man to Shadow's room. There was only a very small hole for ventilation in the room. He could only open one eye to see Shadow, struggling. He brethed heavily but slowly. The heat in the ventilation system was to die for. Beads of sweat appeared on his forehead, and, quickly, he brushed them away, using one arm. I'll have to wait for the certain time.

The doctor in the room was preparing a syringe, and injected something into Shadow's neck, one hand keeping the demoness' head firmly in position. Shadow stopped struggling gradually, her eyes half closed.
"Take her back to her cell for now, I'll begin the rest of the testing in a couple of hours." He said, and the first doctor nodded, taking off the straps and taking the demoness back into the corridor. The second doctor looked at Dominique.
"So, you're the expert on Demons, hm?"

"Got a problem with that?" Dominique asked, angered. Once we get Shadow out of here, the humans shall know what suffering is, just as they did to the Kraferrs! She followed the first doctor.
Don't be angry, please, Bart thought. We'll get caught... He began going backwards, still following Dominique. Now let's see.

"I was only asking, you seem slightly on the young side," The doctor said, taken aback. "But I don't question the orders from up top."
Shadow was put into a cell, one arm chained to the wall to make sure that she couldn't escape on her own.

Dominique looked around, and closed the door calmly, muttering something to the other doctors. "Let me have a word with the... Experiment." she said, then she closed the door. She put an ear on the door, making sure the door was sound proof. She relaxed, noticing that it was, and she approached Shadow, and crouched next to her. "Are you ok?" she whispered.
Bart crawled through the ventilation. He saw the room to Shadow. He smiled, but did not go in yet. He checked for cameras. None. That's weird... Unless they aren't visible.

Shadow opened her eyes, looking at Dominique. It took her a couple of moments to recognise her, but then she murmured.
"Dominique, what are you doing here?"

"Shh," Dominique replied, looking around. She turned back to Shadow. "The can- Wraith told us to go here to recuperate you. Bart's here too."
Dominique then glared at Shadow.
"And you shall come with us. I've had an agreement with Bart, and I'm not letting it down."
Bart heard the conversation. Dominique's determined to try and get a family... I understand her, in a way. And I guess I'll have to oblige.

Shadow blinked a couple of times.
"You've got to get out of here..." She said quietly. "They already know your race, they've got one here, and he spoke..."

"What?!?" Dominique blurted out. "I thought all the Kraferrs were dead!"
Bart also was shocked. He then heaved his foot at the plate, making it jump outwards. It banged onto the ground. He jumped out, landing without a sound on the ground. "If they know our names, we're not safe here anymore." Bart turned to Shadow. Dominique turned to Bart. Then Bart turned to Dominique. "Dominique, we can't save the other Kraferrs, without risking each and ervy one of them, plus our lives. Our current goal is Shadow."

"Take the Kraferrs, there are two of them," Shadow said, sitting up slowly. "They've been here for a few months, but you have to get out of here." She took a short breath, a pain on one of her ribs teling her that she had fractured it trying to pull out of those bands. "They're about five cells down..."

"Five cells down," Dominique replied, "Got it." She quickly took off her lab coat, and threw it onto the ground, while transforming into a Kraferr. She jumped into the ventilation trap, and headed silently to the other cells.
"She won't make it alone," Bart said, when she had gone away. He turned to Shadow. "Shadow..." he said, silently, "You might find this bizarre, but it seems that you can't move alot. I'll do what's best for the three of us." Bart heaved Shadow up, putting one arm under her chest, and one arm at the intersection of her legs. He the jumped, and created a bigger hole for the ventilation, and he slithered in, still clenching onto Shadow's body.

Shadow narrowed her eyes, but there wasn't much she could do. She tried to stay as still as possible so as not to put Bart off his stride, but she hoped that Dominique would be able to get the other Kraferrs out.

Bart padded onwards, glancing at Dominique, who nodded, and pointed upwards. Bart nodded back, whilst Dominique turned to another direction. Bart jumped upwards, pressing against the two metal walls with his strong legs. He then jumped slightly upwards, and continued doing so.
Dominique dashed through the ventilation system. She spotted one of the rooms. Good.

Shadow's hands clenched into fists. She wasn't used to taking a jump like that and hoped she wouldn't have to do it again.

Bart finished jumping, and he landed on s stable surface. If I remember correctly, this must be the floor where we began. But where did I turn? Bart looked left and right, then turned left. He sniffed the air, recognizing his smell, with his kraferric senses. He spotted a light. The busted ventilation. He dashed towards it, stopping at the rim. He jumped, and landed without a sound on the ground. He glanced at Shadow. "Are you ok?" he asked.

Shadow jumped down, landing in a crouched position. After a few moments, she stood up straight.
"We need to get out of here. NOW," She said, glancing around.

Bart put out one hand, and pointed at the lab with the same hand. "I can't leave Dominique in there like that. I promised something with her, I'm not about to break it."
Without another word, Bart jumped back in. He then turned back. "Shadow, you get out of here! I'll try to get Dominique!" and he turned back into the ventilation system.
Dominique scuttled through the ventilation, one dying Kraferr on her back. She huffed and puffed, not used to carry such weights. "Where's the other one?" she demanded.
"2... rooms forth," The Kraferr mumbled, before going unconscious. Dominique turned forwards. Bart, help me...

Shadow grabbed Bart's arm before he disappeared and, summoning all the energy she could, teleported the pair of them to the corridor of cells, outside the two with the Kraferrs in them. She dropped to one knee briefly, taking a few deep breaths before standing up again.

"Shadow!" he yelled out. He picked her up, one arm under her chest, and one arm in the intersection of her legs. He looked desperately around. The alarm went off. A red light filled the rooms, and armed guards soon began pouring out of the halls. They'll fire at will.
They spotted Bart and Shadow, but soon, there was a metal thudding in the ventialtion system above them. They shot upwards. Soon, there was no thudding. Drops of blood dropped from the ceiling. Bart recognized that blood.
"Dominique!" he yelled out. He took off his silver bracelets. The guards pointed their guns at him.

Shadow whispered to Bart to let her go, and for him to go after Dominique.
"Your race counts right now. I can survive in here. They're not going to kill me..." She murmured into his ear.

Bart, before he could summon his magic, heard those words. He turned his head to Shadow, then closed his eyes. "Right," he said, simply, putting Shadow down. Blawk sparks whirlled across the room, hitting the guards in their guns before they could shoot. They tried to shoot, but the guns each jammed. Bart dashed towards them, profiting of their reflex, and ducking under their melee attack, to gain more momentum to jump to Dominique. he jumped, and ripped a hole through the ventilation system. Dominique fell, blood on her whole body. Bart caught her, and glared at the guard, who were desperately trying to get back up or to contact their guns.

One of the guards grabbed Shadow, pinning one arm up beind her back and leading her to a cell. She managed to glance back over her shoulder once, hoping that her friends would escape with the other two from their race.

Bart looked at Shadow, then at Dominique. Dominique was dying, having been hit twice by bullets in the right leg, once in the left, and twice in the body, once in the bust, and once in the right arm. her left arm was curled upon her right arm, and she was breathing heavily, only able to survive thanks to her kraferric form. She yelled out.
"Grwwwaaaaahhh!"
Bart tightened his grip on Dominique. Shadow ain't gonna die, Shadow ain't gonna die... Bart jumped into the ventilation, and began climbing the ventilations system. Shadow ain't gonna die, Shadow ain't gonna die... He climbed to the top, and jumped to the outside. he looked back as he landed, Dominique still agonising in his grasp.

Shadow sat down on the concrete bed/seat thing in her cell, listening to the clinking of the chain binding her to the wall everytime she moved. She also listened out for Bart leaving the compound through the ventilation, hoping that he would be able to escape. Lyingback and closing her eyes, the demoness concentrated hard on Bart's mind, breaking into it.
Bart, take her back to my place. Wraith will protect you and you'll find all the medical kit you need to take care of Dominique.
