Coping. (Post Prophecy)

"Well..." Bart began, lifting his arm once more to scratch the back of is head, and looking at the door. "You better get some sleep, Shadow," Bart said, "I'll try to calm Dominique down just a tad, all right?" He continued, heading for the door.

Shadow nodded slightly before unclasping her cloak, putting it aside and lying down in the basket that was her bed. She pulled a blanket over her shoulders, still using slow movements until she knew the exact amount of freedom of movement she had.

Bart opened the door, and closed it behind him. He sighed deeply. He looked further into the hall, before seeing a knife thrown at him. He arched his back, and the knife stuck into the wall. It wobbled slightly, before stopping. Bart breathed heavily, and he looked at Dominique.
"Don't do that!" Bart said. Dominique came up running to him, and she hugged him tightly against her. She was sobbing, and her tears poured down onto Bart's shirt. "Sudden change of personality, huh?" Bart asked sarcastically. Dominique didn't answer.

Shadow opened her eyes, walking tiredly out into the hall when she heard the dull thunk of metal hitting plaster. Without her cloak, Shadow's severely underweight figure was obvious, but she didn't care.
"What's going on?"

Bart looked up at Shadow. His face flushed to a very red taint. Dominique was clinging onto him with all her might. Bart rolled his eyes.
"Basically, it's the knife I was talking about before," Bart muttered to Shadow.

Shadow nodded slowly, understanding. She moved forwards to try and gently pry Dominique off Bart before she strangled the Kraferr.

"woah!" Bart exclaimed, as Shadow approached her hands to Dominique's neck, "Hold it right there!" Bart pushed Shadow's hands away, as well as he pushed Dominique off of his body. He pointed to Shadow, glancing at her. "You should be resting," he commented. He pointed to Dominique, also glancing at her. "And you should do that too. In a different room. Go to the twins' room, for example."

"I'm not tired," Shadow protested, her adrenaline having kicked in at the sound of the knife hitting the wall.

"Well then, Dominique should go and rest for a while, concentrate on the actions you are going to do, or something," Bart mumbled quickly to Dominique. Se let her arms drop, and she stood up and nodded weakly. She wlked over to the twins' room as indicated, and she entered it, closing the door tightly behind her.
After Dominique had disappeared, Bart let out a huge sigh. He looked at the blade, and pulled it out of the wall. He looked at it carefully. "A long kitchen knife, just as I thought," Bart commented. He went to the kitchen to put the knife carefully back to it's place. He then walked over to Shadow again, looking downwards. "Well," he said, not really knowing what to say.

Shadow leant against the table, gazing at the ground.
"Now what?" She asked softly.

Bart also leaned against the table, flexing one leg above the other, and putting up one hand to his forehead. "You know what?" He asked, sarcastically, "I don't know either. The Lord must be p*ssed at us because we got you back. Fawn's gone, I think. because I can't see her anywhere around here, and the words that Diaes spoke are repeating themselves in my head, giving me a slight headache."

"Dies?" Shadow asked, confused, "Dies was here?" The demoness frowned. What had the vampire wanted?

"Diaes," Bart corrected, "Dee-es. Yeah, he was here, all right," Bart answered. He closed his eyes. "He was talking on about some other prophecy, in which you would inevitably die, unless you drank his blood. He gave me the can that contained his blood, saying I was the 'true love of her heart'," Bart said, blushing slightly, "And that it would be up to me to give you the blood or not." Bart prepared himself for something to blow up.

Shadow's eyes widened and a glass that had been sitting next to the sink exploded, scattering glass everywhere. With a sigh, Shadow extended a hand, using her magic to clean up the mess. She tried to hide the fact that she had gone bright red.

Bart jumped as the glass exploded. He looked at the shards scatter around on the floor, and then come back into a ball as Shadow used her magic. I knew something would blow when I would say that... He turned back to Shadow, and noticed that she had gone to a bright red. He rolled his eyes, and looked away. I shouldn't be the one to talk...

Shadow took a deep breath controlling her emotions and trying to convince herself. No, I don't love him, he's a friend. I don't want to love again, not after Jamie remember?

Bart put a and up to his face, lost deep inside his thoughts. He closed his eyes under his hand. He thought deeply. No, I don't love her. I only said she was attractive, in a way. I only said that, that's all. I choose who I love, and I haven't chosen yet.

Shadow sighed, dismissing her thoughts and cursing the vampire quietly in her mind. She turned, walking slowly and stiffly back to her room.

Bart looked at Shadow as she went back into her room. He smiled, as she closed the door behind her. She took my advice after all. C'mon, get some rest, Shadow. Bart closed his eyes, and looked over at the couch. Dominique was sleeping in the twins' room, and he would (surely) not go into Shadow's room, scared of being blown up/killed at his turn. He rolled his eyes to himself, and he laid himself on the couch, putting his hands behind his head.

Shadow was pacing her room, trying to get her thoughts in order. There were several ripped stitches down her legs, but she ignored the pain and warm blood. She had to banish all thoughts from her head, but was too agitated to meditate.

Bart heard a few footsteps coming towards him. He turned his head, opening his eyes. He saw pant legs, and he looked up at Dominique, who was still red from crying. She looked down at him, and before he could say anything, she lied next to him, and curled herself into a ball, wrapping her arms around his body. Bart stared at her wide-eyed, arms in air. He blinked multiple times, then relaxed. It's not like if I'm going to stop her... She had a hard day today.

Shadow lay down in her basket/bed, and closed her eyes. She wanted to sleep, to escape the world for a few hours, but fate refused her the chance.

Bart frowned slightly, but not at Dominique. He looked around. It seems quiet here... Where's Wraith? Bart looked around, and did not perceive the canine. He lifted one eyebrow at himself, and left himself thinking about the wolf.

The wolf had fallen asleep long ago in her basket, having been worn out from the guard duties and pining whenever Shadow left the flat without her. Shadow gazed at the dark ceiling, wishing for sleep to come.

Bart closed his eyes, and tried breathing normally. It was hard to do so when you had a heavy human body on your stomach, squishing all your guts out. But Bart nevertheless tried. Dominique wasn't asleep yet, but her breathing was normal, at least.
