Memory Lane (Shadow and Holly)

And so it ends ... for a week.

*sighs and has to get a slushie to make her happy*

((*creepy voice* We're baaaaaack... for a brief moment.))

Shadow just sighed, leaning her head back to lean against the wall.

((Haha, that was spoiled somewhat J ))

"Fine, dont explain." Holly yelled, "I feel sick."

"Will you not yell please?" Shadow asked, opening one irritated eye. "You're going to give me a headache."

"You a headache," Holly muttered, "Christ woman..."
She looked expectantly at her.
"Well?"

"I heard that." Shadow said. "Holly, this is an act."

((Lol ok, crazy."

"Okay, I heard that bit." Holly said, "Between whom? Who's acting?!"

Shadow had a sudden urge to bang her head off a wall in frustration.
"Listen, there is no trial, not in the proper sense."

"Then why are we acting?" Holly asked, "Okay, Im confused!"

"The Senators are not gonna rest until I am either killed, executed or at least put to trial, so we're puutting on an act for them." Shaadow explained.

"Huh...." Holly said thoughtfully, and then admitted, "That's pretty smart kid..."

"No duh." Shadow said.

Holly rolled her eyes.
"Im not that dumb." she said sincerely.

"Of course you're not..." Shadow said, her sarcasm carefully hidden.

Holly nodded, happily.
"So when's this trail thingy start? And why did they lock me up?! I mean Ill be allowed to watch the trail right?"

"Because you're a possible escape help. It's a precaution, and the trial will start as soon as they can be bothered." Shadow said. "If you don't mind, I'm going to try and get some sleep."

Without waiting for an answer, Shadow curled up in a corner, one wing draped over her for warmth.

"I DONT mind," Holly muttered, and then felt a bit stupid, cause no one was listening to her.

Shadow slipped into a light doze, glad of the sense of relief that it brought her.

Holly sighed lightly and leaned against the wall, watching Shadow.

It was three hours later before the winged demoness woke up again, looking around before remembering where she was.

Holly nodded tiredly in Shadow's direction. She had not slept a wink.

"You should sleep Holly, humans can't live without it." Shadow said.

"Humans can go for like, five days or something," Holly mumbled, speech strained and mind confused. As always.

"I can go for weeks. Go to sleep Holly." Shadow said.

"I didnt wanna sleep while you were," Holly muttered, "In case you're great plan was actually an act AGAINST you and such...."
But before she could argue properly, she was asleep.
