Memory Lane (Shadow and Holly)

"And now I am alone...." Holly commented, looking around her. Everyone appeared, in her mind, to be staring menacingly at her.
"Bye..." she muttered, and darted off in a random direction.

Shadow looked around carefully, making sure no one was following her.

Holly looked around awkwardly.
"Shad....?" she called, a little confused as to why her friend had run off like that.

Shadow was walking down a dark alley when a cold blade pressed against her neck. Instead of thinking Ohmygodthere'saknifeatmyneck, she was considering how said person had managed to sneak up on her.

Holly wandered in and out of streets, and eventually found a path she thought she should stick to, looking around for Shadow all the time.
"Did I do something?" she asked her Natalie figure in her head.
Natalie shrugged. "Probably."

Shadow managed to get a glimpse of the person behind her.
"Kia..." She breathed.
"Shadow." The girl muttered back.

"Is she anywhere near?" Holly asked miserably.
"HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW?" Natalie-angel snapped, "IM YOU!"
"Thanks!" Holly said, "Look, Ill try this little town here, and if no ones seen her, Ill head back towards the boat....Im sure if she wanted to find me that'd be the first place she'd look."
"Stop talking to yourself Hol," Natalie advised.
"Okay..." Holly sighed, "I get lonely without you though."
"Aw, bless."

Shadow grinned as she remembered her training, and expertly wriggled out of the hold to face Kia.
"Long time no see." Shadow said.
"Traitress." Kia hissed.
"It was time to leave the clan Kia! Time to move on!"

"You sure you havent seen her?" Holly asked desperately.
The owner of the pub shook his head. "No purple haired girls here....." he said, a little worriedly.
"Thanks..." Holly muttered, and moved on, dragging her feet.
"Shaaaad?" she called half-heartedly.

The two girls both heard Holly, but neither of them made a move.

"Is she near NOW?" Holly asked Natalie-angel, trying to trick her into talking.
"I. Dont. Know." Natalie said through gritted teeth, "Would you keep. Looking. Please."
Holly sighed.
"Ill check this alley up here."

The two girls were circling each other.
"Rules of combat, Kia, in case you forgot. Unarmed combat between two assassins."
"Don't patronise me. I can kick your butt in three seconds."
"If I remember right, I was the one doing the butt kicking in training."
"Shut up."

Holly stopped, ears pricked.
"Was that-"
"I dunno..." Natalie-angel interrupted looking worried.
"Should we-"
"I dunno..." Natalie-angel interrupted looking worried.
"Can I-"
"No." Natalie-angel said flatly.
Holly sighed.
"Ill go check then."

Kia launched the first attack with a two footed kick, which Shadow dodged easily, catching her foot and throwing the other girl down.

Holly squinted up the alley.
"I think that's her." Natalie-angel commented.
Holly nodded and crept closer.

Shadow froze, sensing Holly, and Kia took the advantage to land another kick right in Shadow's stomach, sending her flying back with the wind knocked out of her.

Holly froze also, and cringed at the noise. Shadow obviously had company.
Making sure she had her wand, Holly took a step closer.

Shadow, picking herself up, had a glint of annoyance in her eyes.
"Lucky shot Kia!" She growled as the other girl walked towards her. Kia was wearing tightfitting black top and trousers with what looked like black plimsolls, but also had two blades crossed across her back.

Holly heard Shadow's voice and was pleased for half a second, but then realised that she sounded annoyed, and this probably wasnt a good time.
Careful to stay in the shadows, Holly moved forward a little more.

Shadow edged round so that her back would face Holly, to protect her, but Kia was a step ahead for once. She backflipped past Shadow and vaulted over Holly, putting a blade against the human's neck.

Holly was a little too afraid to duck as soon as she noticed this mishap, and stayed still.
"Its always me innit?" she asked weakly, glancing round to try and see the face of her captor.

"Don't move Hol." Shadow ordered, glaring at the girl holding Holly.
"Not so tough now, huh Shadow?"
"This is against the rules of honourable conduct."
"Do I care?"

"Okay." Holly said, not quite stupid enough to disagree.
She looked from Shadow to the other girl.
"You know her?" she asked Shadow.

"Oh yeah, same assassin clan." Kia smirked.
"Shut up." Shadow said quickly.

"What?" Holly said sharply, "Liar..."
She glanced at Shadow, hoping for some kind of contradiction.
