Memory Lane (Shadow and Holly)

Holly had about three thousand incredibly good comebacks, but she held her tongue about those.
"You think then!" she muttered.

Shadow thought for a few minutes before unscrewing a ventilation hatch with her magic and crawling through it. She looked down through an identical hatch into Holly's cell.

Holly looked up at the sound.
"Didn't think it might be important to mention you can use your magic?" she demanded, "Gawd....sometimes I think I'm the smart one!"

Shadow scowled, unscrewing the second hatch. She hooked her legs over the edge, hanging down to grab Holly. She tried not to think of the fact that this was a move she had learnt with the assassins.

Holly stood and let herself be pulled upwards, not happy about the situation.

((THERE IS A WORD FOR THAT! I CANT THINK OF IT!))

Shadow pulled Holly up into the ventilation shaft and crawled silently along it.

Holly nodded once in thanks to Shadow and crawled along behind her.
"It wouldn't help if I was claustrophobic..." Holly muttered, leaving out the "I actually am claustrophobic." part.

"Stop complaining and keep quiet." Shadow hissed.

Holly nodded, ignoring the niggling feeling that they were going to be trapped forever.
"I can hardly breathe..." she muttered.

Shadow sighed quietly as she spotted a bit of daylight. She unscrewed that hatch and dropped down to the ground.

Holly scrambled after her. As much as she was mad at Shadow at this moment, she wouldn't want to be left on her own. In a vent. Where she couldn't breathe.
Holly dropped to the ground.

Shadow made sure Holly was with her before running towards the fence.

Holly swallowed and ran as quick as she could after her, albeit, a little shakily.

Shadow scaled the fence quickly, and landed silently on the other side. Now that people knew that she was an assassin, it was fairly obvious from the way she moved.

Holly realised her mouth was open and closed it.
"How the hell am I supposed to do that?!" she asked desperately.

"It's easy Holly." Shadow said with a bored tone.

"Newsflash, I was never an assassin!" Holly reminded her, but obediently began to scale the fence.

Shadow scowled slightly, and turned to walk further away from the house.

Holly resisted the urge to yell a dont-leave-me type thing, and let herself drop from the top of the fence.
She swore at the new pain in her leg as she did this, and followed Shadow.

Shadow was glad to reach the cover of trees, and she turned to face Holly when they were out of sight.

Holly looked at Shadow expectantly, and a little scared too.
"What...?" she asked.

"I'm waiting for you to kill me or at least shout your head off and call me every name under the moon." Shadow said.

For a moment Holly seriously considered the first option. Realising this would be no good, she considered the second one.
"Why?" she asked suddenly, "Why'd you join in the first place?"

Shadow shrugged, half avoiding the question.

"Stop hiding things from me!" Holly whined, "I'm ME! HOLLY! As in, 'Holly and Shadow', 'Shadow and Holly', 'Shad and Hol'...."
