Memory Lane (Shadow and Holly)

Shadow tried to block out her own memories.

Holly attempted to digest that Shadow had killed her parents. Her parents. ...Her Shadow.
"Traitor..." Holly muttered aloud without thinking.

Shadow cursed her hearing in her mind, and looked down at the sword wound, deciding that she deserved all the pain she ever went though.

Holly had half a mind to yell all the curses she knew at Shadow, but stopped herself just in time, and hugged her knees instead.

Shadow stood up, and banged on the bars, yelling something in a different language.

"Probably assassin language." Holly thought wisely, covering her own ears.

Shadow shouted again in RUSSIAN, and someone yelled back in the same language. Shadow scowled, sitting down again.

Holly decided that from then on she didn't like RUSSIAN language or anything to do with it.

Shadow sighed, leaning her head back against the wall, cursing herself mentally with all the words she knew in every language.

((Is there actually a dictionary of swear words....? Cause I reeeeeeally want to own one of them .... :D))

As if nothing had happened Holly continued, "You didn't think I had the right to know? Who KILLED MY OWN PARENTS?!"

"You were happier not knowing that is was your best friend who killed them." Shadow pointed out.

"Happier yeah," Holly said quietly, "But I was always lookin' for who diddit.....and she was with me the whole time...."

"Yeah. I know." Shadow said.

Holly sat back against the wall.
"There's lots you haven't told me .... " she said, "You don't trust me do you?"

"I trust you Hol, it's just that there is so much I don't share with anyone, parts of my past I try hard to forget." Shadow said.

"Mm..." Holly muttered, not trusting herself to speak in case she yelled again. Or totally exploded. Or threw up.

Shadow started to pace around the cell again, trying to think.

"So ... how are we gonna get out then?" Holly asked in a hollow tone.

3I don't know." Shadow replied flatly.

"You can't convince one of your old friends to let us go?" Holly asked spitefully.

Shadow didn't answer, but there was a dull tud as she punched the wall.

Holly took this as a no and went back to thinking.

"Next time they let us out I could double back for my wand...." she suggested flatly.

Shadow still didn't answer Holly, pacing around the cell as she tried to think.

"Or we could pace." Holly said sarcastically, "That's very helpful."

"Shut up Holly." Shadow said.
