Memory Lane (Shadow and Holly)

"Oh," Holly said, looking back at the little Shadow, clearly recognizable as the one next to her.

An armed guard came out of the Senate chamber and looked sternly at the little Shadow. She shrunk back slightly. The guard pointed his spear towards the chamber and Shadow obediently walked towards it. As she passed the guard, she heard him whisper to her:
"Arias have mercy on you." It wasn't much, but it gave Shadow a glimmer of hope.

Inside the chamber, Shadow bowed to Arias, and started to chew her lip nervously. Arias stood up to address the 100 odd Senators in a semi-circle around the convict.
"People of the Senate, we are here to address the murder of Arella and the future or her demonic child. Armen has volunteered to defend the girl, and Meran to prosecute."

Holly followed them into the chamber, and took a seat next to a Senate member who couldnt see her. She felt herself giving a thumbs up to the little Shadow. She couldnt see her either. What a waste.

Older Shadow followed her friend.
"I never thought I'd see the view from up here." She said jokingly.

"Shadow Wolf Allyssianne Roth." Meran said icily. "I'm charging you with murder..."

"Thats just not funny," Holly told her seriously, and turned back in time to hear the word murder.
"Ouch," she muttered, craning her neck to see Little Shadow.

Armen stood up to look at Meran.
"On what basis do you accuse a child of murder?"
"On the basis that there were no witnesses and that this 'innocent' child is semi demonic!"

Holly let her eyes flick from Armen to Arias, to little Shadow, to Older Shadow to a randomer, and then back, all in a few seconds.

The battle between Armen and Meran went on and on until Armen addressed little Shadow, asking permission to look into her mind. Little Shadow allowed him, and soon the truth was exposed. Armen excorted Little Shadow back to her room, and Older Shadow followed, until the scene changed again.

Holly looked around the chamber, and then followed Shadow, letting the scene changed. She looked around this new scene.
"When's this?"

Older Shadow looked around to see a dark cavern.
"Oh crud... My stay in Aspheri." She said.

Little Shadow was meditating quietly in a corner, trying not to be noticed.

"Aspheri?" Holly repeated, but didnt ask Shadow to elaborate. Holly cocked her head to the side, watching, waiting.

"The demonic dimension." Shadow said. "I stayed there before going to Earth."

Little Shadow cringed as the door opened and her father came in...

"Kar.." Holly said, sort of pointing it out, though it was fairly obvious. Holly looked to see how Young Shadow would react to this.

Little Shadow shrank back against the wall, fear in her eyes again. Kar smirked, and lead her away. Older Shadow deliberately didn't follow.

Holly made to move, but stopped as soon as she didnt hear footsteps behind her.
"What happens now?" she asked, without turning around.

"You might not want to know." Shadow said. "I certainly don't want to remember." She rubbed the scar around her eye subconsciously, like she always did when she was thinking.

"I do wanna know," Holly said turning, overcome by curiousity now.

Shadow sighed.
"Didn't you ever wonder where this came from?" She asked her friend, indicating the scar.

"Wondered yeah..." Holly said biting her lip, "Is the next few moments the answer to that question then?"

"Yes." Shadow said bluntly.

"Ah," Holly said, peering out of the door, "Are you ... coming?" she added timidly.

"You go ahead, I have no wish to see this." Shadow said.

"Okay..." Holly said a little nervously, and she followed Little Shadow and Kar out of the room with an awkward wave to her friend.

Shadow watched her friend go and began to meditate herself.

Little Shadow followed her father, head bowed. Two small, silver haired boys watched interestedly as they walked into another dark chamber. Kar closed the door, and then turned to the girl, who was standing in the middle of the room.

Holly slipped into the room just before it was closed, and watched from a dark corner, hoping it wasnt TOO horrible, what was about to happen.
