Bad things, good things, all depends on the point of view.

"If you mean where I come from," Ahrach begun, stopping his dagger, "I come from New Zealand. It's a quite peaceful place, if you want to know. Except that..." he stopped there, looking at his reflection in his dagger, "Except that the humans hunted my family and me from our territory. Just like every other Kuijin."

Vrael nodded once, still not looking up from his work. Raven was determindly glaring at the ceiling, trying hard not to move.
"I see what you say. Humanity are not as of yet ready to accept any species that they are unable to dominate." Vrael replied.

"I don't blame them, though," he continued, "Humans are like that, always this urge of power. They need to feel dominant to the others. It is their way to do that. We, the Kuijins, prefer to follow as life goes, not trying to change what others force."

"My clan have the one simple goal of being able to live together somewhere we need not worry too much about our well-being. Aspheri was never safe for us, not while our father presided over the rule. Synairn was, also, not safe for us. We would have faced eternal discrimination. The dead dimension was also not a choice. Therefore, we stayed here, where Shadow was sent to keep her safe many years ago." Vrael said.

'Hm,' Ahrach answered simply, gazing over Raven's body once more. Even though she seemed to be chaotic at first, she came here to try and protect herself. Not something I wouldv'e thought of at first.
Ahrach crouched near Vrael. "Need some help?' he asked, not taking his look off Raven.

"No, thank you," Vrael said, tying off the last stitch. Raven slowly sat up, wincing slightly as the wounds twinged because of the movement.

Ahrach stood up and turned around. He took the hilt of his dagger, and walked out of the house with it. He had seen something behind the trees, out of one of the windows. He glanced around, his dagger unsheathed. His hair flowed gently in the wind as his eyes glistened under their dancing shadows. Maybe it was just his mind playing tricks on him. But he was sure to have seen something, different than trees.

Merlas looked up, a few blades of grass hanging out her mouth as she slowly chewed her way through them. Her tilted her head to one side before following Ahrach's gaze. Her ears pricked as she heard something.

Ahrach's dagger glinted as he tilted it. A snarl crawled upon his face. He knew that there was a presence here, and it was uninvited. He kept a grip onto his scythe, ready to take it out. His clothing billowed in the sudden gust of wind. The wind stopped, leaving only silence in the forest.

Merlas shifted from hoof to hoof, her mane and tail streaming out behind her in the sudden wind. Without notice, she leapt from standstill to full gallop, heading into the forest.

Ahrach remained in position, glancing furiously left and right, his hair brushing left and right as he did so. The sound of a branch cracking was heard in the distance. Ahrach looked in that direction, only seeing a dark figure.
Karthragan? No.

The dark figure appeared to be leaning on Merlas' shoulder as she kept up a slow and steady stride, leading Shadow out of the darkness of the dense wood.

Ahrach opened his eyes. He let down his dagger, and he arranged it back to his sheath. He took his hand off from his scythe. "So, back so soon," Ahrach muttered, "Shadow?"

Shadow looked up at Ahrach silently. She didn't say anything, she just walked towards the house slowly, one hand wound into the mare'smane to help her stay upright.

Ahrach uttered a short 'Mh?' as Shadow walked past him. He sighed slightly, and traipsed back into the house. He sat down onto the ground, and looked at Raven through mid-closed eyes. He unsheathed his dagger, and began spinning it in between his dextrous fingers.

Raven was lying on the bed again, curled up under a blanket. She was sleeping, her lips parted slightly to breath while her nose was still clogged with blood (how she did that, she couldn't remember). Shadow went directly upstairs, Merlas wandering back around to the back of the house after leaving Shadow at the front door.

Ahrach stayed crouched near Raven, inspecting her closely. Maybe he was a bit too overprotective, he thought, but, better safe than sorry. Ahrach smiled slightly, and tilted his head backwards, and let out a slight sigh of relief, as the newcomer wasn't presumably hostile. He fiddled with the dagger, until he dropped it at one moment. He looked at it, seeing his reflection in it. He smiled slightly, and sheathed it again.

Raven didn't stir apart from tucking her chin further towards her chest, short violet hair splayed out over the pillow. She seemed to be peaceful, even though her mind, in sleep, was filled with thoughts of Karthragan.

Ahrach gazed over Raven's body, or at least the shape of it below the covers. he smiled slightly. He turned his head the other side, looking out the window. The day was starting to fall, as he noticed a slight contrast in colours to the darkness.

- Yes, that's what made me look. Thank you... -

Merlas wandered over to the window, looking in at Ahrach and Raven. The window being open, as Vrael had left it to try and clear the air of the smell of antiseptic (demons and vampires had sensitive noses), Merlas poked her head through. She sniffed once, and sneezed... over Ahrach.

Ahrach opened wide-eyed. His left eyelid twitched two times. He then sighed, and stood up slowly. he turned to Merlas, and pointed, but didn't say anything. He unsheathed his dagger, a small grin on his mouth. He sheathed it once more, and turned away. He looked for a towel of some sort.
Erg, germs.

Merlas sniffed slightly, obviously not amused by the knife trick. The mare pulled away just as Raven's eyes flickered open. Looking around, she smiled slightly as she realised that Merlas must have been the one that woke her, and judging by Ahrach's search, she guessed that the horse had sneezed over him.

Ahrach found a towel, and wiped his hair with it, trying to take off the few squirts that lept out of Merlas' nose whilst she sneezed (eeewwww). Ahrach looked at the towel, and saw that it was stained with blood. To his great fortune, it was dried blood. He held out a sigh of relief, still scruffing his hair with the towel, when he turned around. he noticed that Raven was looking at him. he opened his eyes wide, and he put the towel behind him. His hair poked up in spikes, in every direction. He blushed slightly, one eyebrow raised.

Raven tried to hide her smile.
"Sorry, Merlas has a habit of sneezing on people she doesn't particularly like... You don't have to worry about that, it took me several years and hundreds of tissues to stop her doing it to me."

"Ah," Ahrach grunted, putting the towel away. His hair was still spiked up. He tried to push it down, but it kept going up again. He lifted one eyebrow, and sighed. "Oh well, I guess I'll get 'used' to it sooner or later," he turned to Raven, "Aye't?"
