Coping. (Post Prophecy)

Bart continued jumping to the flat. he landed on a rooftop, then jumped to Shadow's flat. he stopped deadly as he hit the rooftop, and he fell to the ground with a loud thud as he fell on his knee. Dominique opened the door, and Bart entered, limping. Dominique then closed the door, and opened the door to Shadow's flat, allowing Bart to get it. He looked around, Shadow unconscious in his grip. He limped towards the table Dominique was previously on.

Wraith and Shiraku looked up as the two Kraferrs came in.
"You're hurt," Shiraku remarked simply, looking at Bart. Wraith whined quietly, the smell of blood hittng her like a hammer.

"Yeah," Bart answered quickly, leaning Shadow gently onto the table. He detached the collar wrapped around Shadow's neck, and threw it onto the floor. he leaned on the table greatly, trying to put most weight off his leg. "I need to get Shadow awake, though."
Bart looked at the silver bracelets that were put on Shadow's legs. he took them off, throwing them in a pile on the collar and lead.

Shadow's transformation took place, even though the demoness was unconscious. Shiraku and Wraith both winced at the sound of snapping bones. The eight-year-old girl watched the transformation curiously, wondering why Shadow didn't look much like Raven.

Bart took off his silver bracelets, the magic unleashing automatically. Black sparks flew across the room. Bart looked down at Shadow. He also noticed that the demonic transformation was also faster than he had last expected. Purple fur swarmed over his body, and his claws lengthened, as his eyes double in pair. He sighed, then put an open palm on Shadow's forehead, trying to wake her up with his magic.

Shadow woke with a gasp. Her violet eyes darted around the room for a few moments before she started to relax, trembling and shaking madly. Her temperature was way to high, even by demonic standerds.

Bart turned to Dominique. "Get me an ice pack, now!" he shouted. Dominique nodded, and dashed to the fridge. She took out icecubes, and then looked for a plastic bag. She found it, and put the icecubes in the bag. She tied it, and handed it to Bart, who put it on Shadow's forehead. Bart still felt the pain in his leg. He bit his lip, trying not to show it.

Wraith bounded off, returning with a syringe in a sterile package, giving it to Shiraku. The girl took one glance at it before tugging on Bart's sleeve, handing the syrynge filled with a painkiller to Bart.
"For your leg," She said in explination.

Bart nodded once, uttering a short 'thanks'. He took the syringe from the pack, and then looked around. He looked at Wraith. "Ya got alcohol, or desinfectant?" Bart asked. Dominique stepped closer to the table where Shadow was, putting one hand on her forehead.

Wraith bounded off, coming back a moment later with a bottle of disinfectant carefully carried in her mouth, placing it at Bart's feet. Shadow's temperature still hadn't changed, and small beads of sweat where starting to crawl down her forehead.

Bart took the desinfectant, and dabbed it slightly on a piece of cotton, used before on Dominique. He dabbed it on his wound, then took the syringe again, and injected it into his leg. He felt releived as the painkiller propaged in his leg. He looked back at Shadow, noticing the sweat. He put a hand to her forehead. Still the same temperature. Bart put a hand to Shadow's heart. And the beats are slightly irregular. Bart lifted himself, sitting on the table. He put a hand on Shadow's forehead.

Shadow closed her eyes again, her head turning onto one side. She barely paid attention to anything that was happening around her. She could feel one of the last injections she had been given by the milita working its way slowly and painfully through her system.

Bart felt worried about Shadow. He then remembered his wound, and he looked at it. Blood had leaked out of it, and some drops fell onto the ground, a slight plicking resonating from the impacts. Bart then cleaned his hands with desinfectant, and inserted his claws inside the wound. He suinted as he did so. So that's the feeling. Then, with one great pull, he extracted the bullet. He put a hand over the wound, bleeding again. He took a bit of cloth, and wrapped it over the wound, the cloth becoming dark red.

Wraith sat and watched Bart with a worried expression, her tail tucked around her haunches. Shadow's tail lay limply on the table, not even twitching as it always seemed to be doing.

Bart watched Shadow carefully, a worried gleam in his eyes. Bart put his silver bracelets back. A peak of pain was felt in his chest, and he double over. The purple fur disappeared, leaving only brown. His eyes melded again, and his claws retracted into smaller ones. He breathed heavily, and then looked at Shadow again.

Wraith started prowling around the table, tail still down. Shadow's tail twitched slightly, reacting to Shadow's slowly rising temperature.

Why is here temperature rising like that? Bart thought. It must be a demon thing. I need to think! Bart tried to think, in vain. The pain, even though the painkiller was injected, in his leg was rising. He squinted. "Shiraku, you know anything that could help Shadow?"

Shiraku shook her head, biting her lip.
"I never trained as a medic, but I can smell something strange..."

"What?" Bart asked, lifting his nose, to try and smell, but it was blurred by the pain in his leg. He dropped again, onto the floor, on one knee. He looked up at Shiraku. "What do you smell?" he asked again.

Wraith bounded off again, returning with a stronger painkiller for Bart, whining quietly. Shiraku looked at the Kraferr, frowning as she sniffed the air again.
"I smell poison."

"Poison?!" Bart repeated, taking Wraith's syringe, taking off the cloth on hiw wound, and injecting it into his leg. He then put the cloth back onto his leg, and he looked up at Shiraku. "You smell poison in Shadow's body?"

Shiraku took a pace back, looking slightly scared as she nodded rapidly.
"I can smell blood tainted by poison!" She said, her eyes wide.

"Sh*t!" Bart exclaimed. he took off his silver bracelets, which automatically made sparks fly in the air. He clenched his hands into fists, as he felt pain in his whole body for reverting from Kraferr to demonic far too many times in one day. The purple fur appeared, and his claws lengthened. His eyes decupled. Bart looked down at Shadow, a faint trickle of blood dropping from his parted lips. He breathed heavily, and put a hand on Shadow's body, thinking, trying to take the poison out of her body. He used up most of his energy as he did so.

Wraith grabbed Bart's trouser leg, tugging backwards.
"That won't work!" Shiraku said, grabbing the Kraferrs's arm as well.

Bart turned around, taking his hands off. He panted heavily, the energy leaving him by the second. he fell to the ground on one knee. "Then what will, Shiraku?!" Bart yelled out, angered, and slightly panicked.
