Memory Lane (Shadow and Holly)

Holly ducked out of the way of the Senators, but stayed where she was, unsure if her presence would annoy Shadow, or help her.

The Senators nodded, leaving Shadow there as they strode away.

Holly hesitated and then took a step toward Shadow.
"S'it gonna be like this everyday....?" she asked.

"They'll be back soon." Shadow said, her voice hoarse.

"If I get us outta here would they find you again?" Holly asked weakly, crouching down to face her friend.

Shadow nodded.
"They're going to keep doing that until I can go without going demonic like that."

Holly bit her lip.
"But will you ever ... be able to stop yourself?" she asked.

"I don't know." Shadow said.

Holly held her sigh in and nodded optimistically.
"You will be able to." she assured her.

Shadow nodded dejectedly.

Holly nodded slowly, thinking.
"If it gets too much tell me and I'll get us out, kay?"

"No point." Shadow said.

"Well...." Holly said, and then was unable to think of anything more to say.

Shadow seemed to wait patiently for the next round of the course.

Holly sighed lightly.
"You gonna be okay?"

"Only once this thing's over." Shadow muttered darkly.

Holly nodded.
"You said the people here were fair Roth."

"They're just rather severe about demons." Shadow said.

"Still unfair." Holly muttered, eyes fixed on the entrance.

"No, Holly. It's better for my kind." Shadow said.

"You're not like demons though." Holly argued, turning back to her, "You're different."

"I'm half demon Holly, and if it wasn't for this program, I would be so much different." Shadow said.

"Half demon?" Holly said, gobsmacked, "You should have mentioned! Hey.... I aint that thick."

Shadow rolled her eyes.

The corner's of Holly's mouth twitched.
"Dont under estimate me Roth." she said, poking her lightly.
