Memory Lane (Shadow and Holly)

"Easier said than done Holly." Armen said. "They are set in their ways and have been for thousands of years."

"Now Armen," Holly said sternly, "If Marie Curie had said "Easier Said Than Done", and just GIVEN UP, we wouldnt have those shops that sell all that stuff people dont want. And I dont have to remind you how important they are."

Armen looked down at the sleeping Shadow.
"I see her as my own daughter, but there is nothing in my power I can do!"

"I know you do," Holly said, suddenly serious, ".....is there anything I could do?"

"Outsiders, mortals have about as much influence as a fly." Armen said.

"That sounds doable," Holly muttered, totally honestly, "Flys can be useful...."

She was speaking, of course, of Arnold the fly.

Armen didn't reply to this as Shadow began to stir slightly.

Holly tried to think of a more compelling argument, but all thoughts were pushed aside as Shadow moved.

"Ally?" Armen asked softly as the girl opened her eyes. SHe smiled tiredly.

Holly's first urge was to grab Shadow's shoulders and yell "CAN YOU HEAR ME!?!??!?!!?!?!?! FOR THE LOVE OF ARIAS WOMAN SPEAK!!??!?!?!"

Alas, she stayed silent, watching, a little scared.

"Holl?" Shadow asked, looking round at her friend.

Holly nodded.
"That's my name...." she said, unsure of what to say next. Things such as "Are you okay?" "How do you feel?" and "Arnold says she misses you," probably wouldnt be greeted well.
"Armen saved ya," Holly said, just to clarify.

Shadow nodded.
"I sensed."

Holly nodded slowly.
"Uhm.....thanks..." she said vaguely.

"For what?" Shadow asked.

"Taking out the rubbish last night." Holly said sarcastically, and then snorted lightly, "Whaddya think ... ?"

"Ah." Shadow said. "I wasn't going to let them take us..."

"That was a good move," Holly commented, and then smiled. "Good job... except for the whole scaring me part...."

"Sorry..." Shadow said, sitting up slowly.

"Y'better be," Holly said sternly, but of course, she was kidding. Kind of.

Shadow just smiled.

Holly smiled back.
"Armen don't agree with the Dingus' either." she said, meaning the Senators etc.

"No, he never did." Shadow said.

"Can I ask, is this all part of the plan?" Holly asked, a little confused.

"The plan is over, it ended as soon as the sentence was passed." Shadow said.
