Memory Lane (Shadow and Holly)

Shadow smiled, shaking her head.
"Anyway, back to school, and back to being your pet." She said just before morphing into a wolf. The black animal looked up at Holly, a wolfish grin on her face and a plumy, wagging tail.

"Awk pet," Holly said lovingly, and then laughed, "Lezzgo then Sugar'o."
She opened the door to the castle and let Shadow in before her.

Shadow trotted into the castle, tail still wagging. She was glad things were back to normal.

Holly wagged her own tail, then glanced behind her, scared.
WHY ON EARTH DID SHE HAVE A TAIL!?!?!??!?!

*ahem*

Holly grinned, glad things were back to normal.
"Race you to the dorm!" she yelled, and sprinted in the direction of the dorm.

Shadow, having four legs, bounded up the stairs, overtook Holly and was waiting for her with an innocent look when the other girl got to the portrait hole.

Scowling, Holly reached Shadow, some ten minutes later.
"I keep forgetting you can do that." she muttered, and pushed the portrait open.
"Just remember. I'm your owner kiddo."

Shadow nodded and trotted after Holly, playing the perfectly obedient pet.

Holly rolled her eyes and stepped in after her.


***Twelve Hours Later***

Holly awoke unsure why she was so pleased. Then she remembered. They were serving cheese in the Great Hall today.

Shadow, curled up on the end of the bed, stretched and yawned, casting a lazy eye over Holly.

"Mornin'," Holly muttered yawning, "Did I kick you while I was asleep?"

Shadow shook her head and spat out a few feathers. She had been chewing the mattress by accident in her sleep.

Holly cocked her head to the side, but did not comment.
"WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN!?!?" came a voice from the other side of the room, just as Holly opened the curtains covering her four poster.
"Uh...asleep...." Holly said slowly.
The girl's mouth was open.
"YOU'VE BEEN GONE FOR DAYS AND DAYS! DUMBLEDORE SENT OUT A SEARCH PARTY! YOU'RE WANTED!"

Shadow looked faintly puzzled, but then decided she didn't like this rude girl and started to growl at her.

"S'okay," Holly said quietly to Shadow, "Look, Bob-"
"MY NAME'S NOT BOB!" the girl said outraged, "IM GETTING DUMBLEDORE!"
She ran out.
"Well that was random." Holly commented, "I wonder what mystery shall befall us this day. I have a feeling it will involve Evil coming back for revenge and a timer and such. But moving on from that!"

Shadow shrugged and leapt lightly off the bed to land on the floor. Giving herself a good shake, she looked up expectatly at holly as if saying: 'well, get a move on or we'll be late!'

"Oh, right." Holly said, and began to run in circles like a headless chicken, as a friend of hers usually did when in a rush.

Shadow sat down, and thought before starting to help Holly get her things together.

"TAKES YOU LONG ENOUGH!" Holly yelled, then calmed down, "Thank you. Let us go!"
And she marche (actually marched) out of the door.

Shadow trotted alongside her, tail wagging lazily.

They made their way down to the Great Hall. Holly opened the doors and was instantly met with a very different sight. The tables had been pushed closer together, and in the centre of the room stood a large cup like thing.
"Hey kid!" Holly said, and pulled a tiny first year back by the hood of his cloak, "Wazzat?"
"Goblet 'O Fire," he said, scared.
"Whats it for?"
"Triwizard winner." the boy replied, and scurried off.
"HOLLY HAS IDEAS!"

Shadow had a very pensive look in her eye, and then a rather determined one.

"WE SHOULD ENTER WE SHOULD ENTER!" Holly said, eyes bright, "YOU AND ME! ME AND YOU! WE SHOULD!"

Shadow was nodding her head thoughtfully. She was already plotting several tactics based on the previous Triwizard Cup.

"I AM THRILLED! I've only ever been allowed to watch them! Now I'm the right age! I'll be seventeen in twenty nine days!"
Holly jumped happily.
"Let's go sign up!"

Shadow nodded and pointed to a small sign next to the cup.

Participants must enter in pairs.

She looked at Holly and wagged her tail.
We were always a good team, and I'm old enough... Her eyes seemed to beg.
