Memory Lane (Shadow and Holly)

Shadow nodded sadly, and leapt lightly off the bed. She stretched, yawning and started to pad down to the common room.

Holly followed, skipping and smiling.
"Snow is falling......all around me...." she sang.

Shadow howled softly aong with the tune.

"And you say you can't sing," Holly laughed, "CHAMPTION SELECTION! When's it start, I don't 'member?"

Shadow looked up at the clock, and realised it was in five minutes. With a bark of panic, she fled out of the portrait hole and down the stairs.

"Now then?" Holly asked stupidly, and then sprinted after her.

Shadow was already sitting on a bench in the Great Hall when Holly arrived, but the wolf had saved her 'owner' a seat.

Holly avoided the eyes of those who had looked in her direction, and dropped into the seat next to Shadow.
"Whaddi miss?"

Shadow shook her head to mean that she hadn't missed anything, and concentrated on the Goblet...

Holly too moved her gaze to the Goblet.
It changed colour and spurted out three flames.
Dumbledore picked the first one and read out the names.
Holly groaned with the rest of the unluck folk.
"Two tries left." she said optimistically.

Shadow nodded, sighing heavily.

The Goblet threw out another pair of names, which Dumbledore read out.
"Third time lucky." Holly said, sighing.
The Goblet threw out the last pair of names and Dumbledore glanced downwards.
"Shadow Bristol and Holly Roth."
Holly almost yelled out, but then cocked her head to the side.
"I wrote our names down wrong didnt I?"

The black wolf nodded andhit her head once on the table before trotting down the passage between the Gryffindor and Hufflepuff tables.

"My bad..." Holly muttered cringing, and she followed after her briskly.


"CONGRATULATIONS CHILDREN!" boomed professor Dumbledore, "You are now, the six champtions. Well the five champions....and the wolf."
He seemed to puzzle over Shadow, but let it slide.
"Anyway, as today is Christmas awe aren't going to combard you with any tasks. But be warned, the taks could approach at any moment, with no warning. Always be on alert. As you know, the winners of his tournament win the Triwizard Cup and a healthy sum of money too, so good luck to all!"

Shadow decided to give everyone a shock as she stood on the stage like thing with the other champions. She morphed into humanoid form.

The boy and girl team, evidently brother and sister, both fainted into the arms of the first team, both males, who looked at eachother and then dropped them.
"You're a person?" one of them asked conversationally.

"Yes." Shadow said with a small smile. "Shadow Roth."

"I heard of you!" the other boy said, "You're that ... that..."
He looked at his friend for help.
"Demon." finished his friend.

"Yes well spotted." Shadow said in a bored tone.

"That IS her!" the first boy whispered, eyes popping.
"Wanna make a scene of it?" Holly asked lightly.
"No sir." the second one muttered.

Shadow looked at Holly and teleported the two of them out. The ceremony had finished.

"Yeah you better run!" Holly yelled, not realising what had just happened.
"Oh. Right. They aren't here. I knew that."
She nodded at Shadow.
"WE'RE IN!"

Shadow smiled at her friend.
"And they won't remember me. They'll just remember you entering with a wolf. But we got in!" She said before morphing back.

"I love your brain." Holly commented lovingly, before skipping away.

Shadow smiled her wolf smile before trotting after her.
