Memory Lane (Shadow and Holly)

Pain lifted her cloak to show a rather mangled leg.
"It'll heal eventually." She said.

Holly winced.
"Looks....Painful...." she said reasonably.

Pain nodded and let her cloak drop again, covering it.
"Any injuries inflicted on Shadow are also inflicted on me and vise versa." Pain explained.

"So Shad's leg is all ... gross too?" Holly asked biting her lip.

Pain nodded.
"Rage got her, not me." She said. "But Shadow will be able to heal herself."

"It cant be healthy though ..." Holly said, "Using all that magic to heal yourself everytime something goes wrong. It would take a lot outta her dontcha think?"

Pain nodded.
"It always does. She's just a good actor."

Holly felt two stabs at once. One of sadness, at Shadow not saying how she felt. One of pity, feeling sorry for the chap.

Hope noticed this and shrugged. Friendship spoke.
"Shadow doesn't like to see you worry, so she keeps up the pretence."

Holly smiled slightly.
"She's good like that," she said.

Friendship smiled slightly at Holly before Pain screamed.

Our of habit, Holly screamed too, and stood up.
"What? WHAT? WHERE IS SHE? WHO HURT HER? I WANT TO KILL THEM!"

Pain was lying, unconscious on the ground. Hope and Friendship looked worried and Kindness was about to do something unmentionable.

In the main plains of no emotion's land, Shadow lay on the gorund, battered, bloodied and defeated.

Holly stared, soaking up what this meant.
"Can I go and get her now please?" she whispered to the rest.

Hope shook her head.
"You can go anywhere near there." She whispered.

Holly looked at her.
"Then you go get her," she said, "Please...?"

"None of us can." Hope whispered again.

Rage approached her unconscious self, an evil smile adorning her face as she used a foot to turn Shadow onto her back.

"Whaddya mean?" Holly asked, fear inside herself growing, "Why not...this whole place is her....is you guys..."

"Rage... we can't do anything..." Hope said.

Rage's smile grew as Shadow failed to react to the movement.

"None of us?" Holly aske desperately, looking around at everyone, "Look surely I could? Im not part of any of this, im just a visitor. No?"

"Only if you have a death wish." Fear said.

Holly considered.
"Is there even a CHANCE I could get her back?" she asked.

All the emotions sighed.
"Go if you must." Kindness said sadly.

"I must," Holly clarified and stood up, "Which way am I going?"

All the emotions pointed one way.
