'This is not a Good thing' (Holly and Shadow...only...)

"No need to brag," Holly said sticking her tongue out at her friend, "Hey...look thats me... I think this is me and you becomming friends! After that broom incident! Remember?"

Young Holly stuck her tongue out at mid-air and continued to study for her upcoming exam.
"Im so bored," she muttered.

Younger Shadow had her nose back in her book on half breeds, and looked up briefly.

Young Holly looked up in time to see Shadow glance at her.
"Oh, hello!" she said happily sliding off her seat. She paused in front of her.
"You remember me dont you?"

"It would seem hard to. Never have I met someone who talks more." Younger Shadow said.

"Oops, man I was rude back then!" Older Shadow said.

"You havent changed a bit," Holly said lovingly to Shadow, and pushed her.

Young Holly grinned at her.
"Thanks," she said, "I decided to take that as a compliment, cause I think theres a chance I might like you, and I was coming over here to offer you the position of my best friend, but then I realised theres a chance some might take that as a little rude, so I changed my mind the second after I said 'hello' and now I just dont really know what to say, you say things you seem smart."

Shadow lovingly pushed Holly back, smiling slightly.

Younger Shadow sighed, putting her book to one side.
"Why do you wish that I become your friend?"

Young Holly shrugged.
"Why does anyone make friends with anyone?" she asked reasonably, "Is this because of the inter-house unity thing? Cause Ill change the colour of my tie if it bothers you look-"
Indeed Holly took off her tie and threw it onto the ground.
"So we're friends now, right?"

Shadow sighed, leaning back on her chair.
"I'm in a different house, I'm two years above you and there are things so don't know."

Slightly hurt Holly shrugged.
"Doesnt make a difference. Not to me anyways....to you?"

If only she knew, Shadow thought to herself before shaking her head.

"Thats good," Holly said brightly, "So we're friends now. That's good. I'm on 'study' now, but I have DADA after this. What have you got?"

"Er... extra charms..." Shadow improvised.

"Extra?" Holly asked shivering, "Man, I couldnt STICK that ... you know there's a girl Ive seen about who looks JUST like you ... the image actually."

"Where?" Shadow asked warily.

"Around," Holly said shrugging, "I dunnae really ... places. When's your birthday?"
Such a random question.
No, such a random child.

Shadow looked a bit uncomfortable, and didn't answer her.

"Sorry," Holly said, "Thats too personal. I have a habit of being too 'in-your-face'..... Mine's on Christmas. Which pretty much sucks cause I only get half the presents."
She sighed as if she had an awful life.

Shadow shrugged, watching her.

As if sussing Shadow out, Holly cocked her head to the side.
"You arent like most people," she commented.

"Perhaps, perhaps not." Shadow said vaguely.

Holly, little and confused with all the big words, nodded wisely.
"Perhaps not..." she repeated distantly. She continued to watch her new friend.

Shadow opened her book again, reading.

"What's the book about?" Holly asked annoyingly.

"Other species." Shadow said.

"Like werewolves and vampires?" Holly said eagerly, suddenly interested, "I love them! Vampires especially, and elves and demons and ogres and giants and all."
