Memory Lane (Shadow and Holly)

"Wh - .... okaay...." Holly said, hurrying to catch up, "You know who I am right? Holly. As in Bristol? You have to tell me, its like a best friend law!"

"How could I forget Holly? I've never met anyone more annoying." Shadow said the last bit as a half joke.

Holly couldnt help grinning.
"Course you havent. Id be highly offended if you had."

Shadow managed a small smile before she walked into the transfiguration classroom.

Holly ran to catch up, and almost walked into Shadow when she got to the classroom. Her reactions, to say the least, sucked.

Shadow walked up to Mcgonnagle's desk.
"I need your help."

McGonagal looked up, shocked.
"Wha- Roth? Shadow Roth?"
"The same," Holly said, speaking on her friends behalf.

Shadow nodded.
"Yes, Holly's pet this year, but that's not why I need your help." She said.

"Pet? What? Thats against....."
McGonagal sat down, holding her heart.
"Yes...what is it you need?"

Shadow looked around before removing her cloak, allowing her wing to show again.

McGonagal gasped and stood up.
"How ... how did...?"

Holly quickly said, "Its a long story but basically, its demonic magic....can you fix it?"

"Not demonic, Meran isn't demonic. Only Raven and I were in that dimension. The others are all a magical race called the Synari. Long story short, he hates me and enjoys torturing me." Shadow said.

"What she said," Holly said.
McGonagal furrowed her brow.
"Hmm.....Synari magic's very different from ..... normal..."
She scurried about muttering to herself, looking at pages in books for a second and then shaking her head and putting them back.

Shadow watched her.
"I came to you because I don't even know where to begin. I didn't hear the spell."

"Ah.... that might be a problem." McGonagal said cringing, "It makes it more difficult....never fear, thats what Im here for."
She smiled warmly at her.
"Hey!" Holly said, "How come the time I got turned into a rabbit you told me it was my own fault and I should bugger off?!"

"Probably because it was your own fault." Shadow pointed out.

"Who's side are you on here?" Holly asked.

"Ah....here's a bit about it......" McGonagal said, "There is a spell....hm....when was it you acquired these wings Roth?"

"Hard to say. Meran is a master at delayed reaction spells and silent incantations." Shadow said.

"Probably within the last twelve hours." Holly said shrugging.
"Hm....they do shrink with time ... but by time I mean like ... fifty/sixty years."
She looked up.
"That a bit too long?"

"I don't think these are gonna go away." Shadow said.

"True, they're huge." Holly said non-helpfully.

"Aha! There's a spell!" McGonagal said happily, "Lemme see ..... Wingioshrinkio!"

A single feather fell to the ground and Shadow groaned.
"I am gonna kill that Senator!"

McGonagal looked stunned.
"IT DIDNT WORK!"
"No sh-"
"I dont believe this! A spell of mine has never not worked!"
"Double negitive." Holly pointed out.

"Perhaps Holly, but that one made sense." Shadow pointed out, beginning to pace around the room.

"Oh." Holly said, quite raging.
"I am sorry!" McGonagal said, and she looked it, "Perhaps we should go to the Headmaster....?"
